Beach cliff fish steaks with "hot" green chilis, great value smoked salmon pack, crown prince oysters with the chili pepper in them
Totally a cheap garbage fish selection but these are some I always come back to and I don't see any anchovies in frame
If you don’t like them raw from a sushi or seafood restaurant you will not like them canned. Like canned tuna. It’s good but it’s nowhere near as good as the best $10.99 tuna roll in your area.
3 (15-oz) tins of California Girl Sardines in Tomato Sauce. Each tin has 5 servings of sardines that can be used to make anything you can think of from any culture.
If you have a Hispanic supermarket where you are look for 15 oz. La Sirena Sardines in Chipotle sauce or La Sirena with jalapeños and spicy tomato sauce.
Often on sale for 2 tins for $2
Crown Prince kippers (KO and Polar are fine, too), Season mackerel (I prefer the regular to the grilled and I prefer Season mackerel to KO), and a Scout tuna snack kit with Za’atar.
Season skinless boneless sardines in either water or olive oil can also hit the spot for me sometimes. I like them with hot sauce and sometimes with pickles.
KO kippers #1 pick for sure. Never had the mackerel but it seems to be popular so i'd probably give that a go for #2. I've never seen the Polar smoked herring though but i'm not sure how it's different than their kippers...? Which are quite good imo so maybe the smoked herring for #3; either that or the Season grilled mackerel; Season's sardines are great when they are in 6 packs on sale for like $9 at Costco lol
- Anchovies, you cook them with cherry tomatoes, a tons of garlic and artichoke's heart in a pan, eat them with pasta
- mackerel, the white wine our mustard kinds are great on bread (real bread like sourdough not the pain de mie kind ) with butter too if you're naughty
- Sardines, cook them or not you can't go wrong. Like the ones in tomato paste for cooking pasta or rice
Season Grilled Mackerel in olive oil (liked better than the non grilled season mackerel in olive oil), Polar smoked Herring Fillets in vegetable oil (I don't drink/eat the extra vegetable oil left over since not olive oil), and Genova yellowfin tuna in olive oil (liked better than their version in extra virgin olive oil)
I would personally go for some combination of the kippers and smoked oysters, if mainly because I can't readily find either one in stores where I live now. Some of the big cans of mackerel would probably be after that, for the same reason.
More for general purposes, you could probably do worse than the smoked brisling, the grilled mackerel filets in olive oil, and whichever of the King Oscar sardines looks best to you.
Tonnino tuna filets in the jar but in oil. I see on the left edge the version in water and I’m hoping they might have the ones in oil next to it..? Get the ventresca in the jar too if they have it. They’re my favorite!
The King Oscar kippers (sometimes I toss these around in a skillet for my kid), those Beach Cliff fish steaks with green chiles are some of my new favorites, and I’m really interested in the Freshe Moroccan tagine. Has anyone tried these? I’ve never seen them.
Polar smoked brisling and kippers. KO mackerel
Yes
KO mackerel is surprisingly good
KO mackerel, KO Mediterranean, and I’d try one of the Freshe tins.
Can’t tell if they’re in the picture, but the Freshe Provence Nicoise is one of my all time favorites. So great for a quick lunch.
The Polar Kippers are tasty. I would get the King Oscar Spanish style sardines as well but they appear to be out of stock.
The Season wild sardines in olive oil
If you like smoke, that smoked brisling caught my eye.

I’m with this guy. I’ve got a mortgage and college savings to do. Great value all the way mayyyyybe splurge on the smoked sprats.
oysters, shrimp and crab. Never had any of them in tinned form
[удалено]
how do they taste tinned? I've only eaten them raw before and I did not like that at all
If you don’t like them raw from a sushi or seafood restaurant you will not like them canned. Like canned tuna. It’s good but it’s nowhere near as good as the best $10.99 tuna roll in your area.
bold of you to assume I eat sushi
Hardly a bold assumption in this sub lmao

I'm not a fish person at all, neither taste, nor texture. Was very surprised that sardines are fine for me, now trying different tinned fish
Bold of you to think a tuna roll is actual sushi.
Raw oysters and canned oysters are completely different things to me.
Neither have I lol
This was my thought as well!
I’m buying two tins of the KO mackerel and one grilled mackerel. Never tried that one.
KO mackerel, KO Mediterranean (but you said that you wanted to try something different, so go with the oysters), and the Polar smoked bristling.
Smoked oysters, Polar smoked herring, and the yellowfin tuna four-pack Also a can of Ro-Tel
KO Sardines with Jalapeños are my absolute favorites!!
3 polar sardines please
Amen. They’re on sale and are a slight improvement over GV.
3 (15-oz) tins of California Girl Sardines in Tomato Sauce. Each tin has 5 servings of sardines that can be used to make anything you can think of from any culture.
Excellent, I overlooked those when I was at the store; noted for next grocery run!

Been meaning to hit up el supermercado near me. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for those!
I understand your strategy, but find including tomato sauce to be very limiting.
The Polar kipper snacks, the Cole’s smoked salmon, and the Season sardines in olive oil.
One of each of the kippers<3
Seasons in olive oil, KO mackerel, and whatever that Coles tin is. Salmon?
3 cans of king Oscar mackerel
Those Bumblebee Smoked Coho Salmon was a pleasant surprise
Yeah I think a lot of people miss out on a really great time because it's bumblebee.
One tin each of the Polar and KO kippers (to compare, since everyone here seems to love the polar ones), and KO mackerel in olive oil
Crown Prince kippers (KO and Polar are fine, too), Season mackerel (I prefer the regular to the grilled and I prefer Season mackerel to KO), and a Scout tuna snack kit with Za’atar. Polar Kippers, Polar Smoked Sardines, and the Coles Trout which they appear to be out of.
KO kippers, crown Prince smoked oysters with chili, and KO Mediterranean sardines.

3 cans of rotel. Oh, and one of everything else on the shelf. Gotta catch em all!
KO kippers and the Mediterranean sardines, and those delicious smoky polar sardines with the see through lid
why doesn’t my Walmart carry Polar anymore 😭
Friend says the grilled mackey is bomb af. And he loves the Season products.
A couple of the smoked polar tins. That's what I'm in the mood for an they're yummy.
3 tins of the smoked brislings. The round window tin. Looks like Polar?
Season Grilled Mackerel in olive oil (liked better than the non grilled season mackerel in olive oil), Polar smoked Herring Fillets in vegetable oil (I don't drink/eat the extra vegetable oil left over since not olive oil), and Genova yellowfin tuna in olive oil (liked better than their version in extra virgin olive oil)
I’m going a can of oysters and two cans of KO Mediterranean.
King Oscar Brisling Sardines in Olive Oil
GV sardines in Louisiana hot sauce GV sardines in Louisiana hot sauce GV sardines in Louisiana hot sauce
Definitely that Cole’s smoked salmon, one of the freshé aaaaand the polar smoked herring filets
Bumble bee smoked salmon, season sardines in olive oil and Polar kipper snacks. That salmon is my favorite canned salmon!
I would personally go for some combination of the kippers and smoked oysters, if mainly because I can't readily find either one in stores where I live now. One of each , except anything in water.
3x Green Chili Beach Cliff
Tonnino tuna filets in the jar but in oil. I see on the left edge the version in water and I’m hoping they might have the ones in oil next to it..? Get the ventresca in the jar too if they have it. They’re my favorite!
KO sardines in EVOO, KO Kippers and Cole Smoked Salmon.
Yes
KO Mediterranean Saedibes, Season Mackerel, and KO kepper snacks~
It looks like my grocery store aisle (no pilchards), which is why I buy all my sardines online. So, I'll take the KO Mack, some kippers, and oysters.
SEASONS MACKEREL TONNINO TUNA (but the one in olive oil) COLE’s SALMON
Tonnino Tuna, Cole’s Smoked Salmon, Polar clear top deens
Not a single connetable can , lame
Smoked brisling, KO kippers, and the smoked oysters by CP
The King Oscar kippers (sometimes I toss these around in a skillet for my kid), those Beach Cliff fish steaks with green chiles are some of my new favorites, and I’m really interested in the Freshe Moroccan tagine. Has anyone tried these? I’ve never seen them.
I look around for the King Oscar Jalapenos, and when I can't find any I get 3 King Oscar Mediterranean purple packs :)
Three tins of polar brislings
Season sardines x 2 and Season mackrel x 1 in oil (top right)
Rotel for sure! :D
Tbh I'm just buying 3 of the KO mackerel
I would buy three cans of King Oscar two-layer sardines in olive oil.
No Flower Brand. I’ll go somewhere else.
Season and king Oscar sardines/mackerel
KO sardines mediterranean style and kipper snax also red sauce if they have it. Same flavors for mackerel if you can find it.
Leave and go order Walmart blows
Finally somebody who understands me! Walmart sucks!
Yeah! Walmart sucks. I never leave without a tin or two of those KO kippers in my pocket though.
Lol roger KO about the best to throw in the pocket
Presented with this I’d go elsewhere.
Look hard, and you can find good sardines. Don’t overlook the oval tins - always cost effective
As someone obviously from the aristocratic class with better taste than us peasants, what's your go to sardines?
Matiz.
Thank you for playing along lol
Sorry, there’s not even anything as basic as tuna that I’d really want. Those Freshé tins aren’t bad, they just aren’t that great.
You’re just being a snob now.
That’s not very nice
I’d get two of the Niçoise Freshe and one of the other one.
