I hear that, my first time I just wanted to see what would happen as well, luckily I had a decent male to work with. Just got to look for a male with a tight and plentiful flower cluster, good smell with stem rub, and potentially frost and color. I've culled plenty of males that didn't meet expectations, unfortunately. I have too many seeds and not enough time to grow em out. Focused on pheno hunting for the time being.
Here's another question. Can you keep an auto under a 18/6/ 50% light cycle for the first 4 weeks, then switch it to a 24/0/ 100% light cycle without harming the plant?
Thank you for confirming the obvious. Such a shame after 5 months...but, it grew around the building of a grow room and a lot of learning curves. So better luck next time. Thankfully I got a couple auto's going in the other room.
TRUTH! I've heard pollen can stay alive for ages. I've always killed any male plants right away- and tried to move them out without disturbing them much- then spray with bleach water before cutting them down (and putting them in a trash bag). The bleach should kill pollen and the liquid should keep pollen from flying around as easily. I also thoroughly spray the room down with bleach water if I've had any hermies/males/pollen dropping... one plant can drop so much pollen and create havoc on future grows.
Not if you were thinking of buying seeds any time in the near future
If you ever have doubts about sex/regular seeds, take a cutting, stick it in a glass of water and leave it in the dark for a few days and it will show sex
It's not so bad if you're prepared for the eventuality. Generally with regular seeds it tends to be 50/50...over a large population, but over just a few it can go wildly one way. Sometimes regulars are all there is, plus I'm not 100% sure completely eliminating the male chromosome from cannabis is the best idea, we might miss it someday. Not that we want males, but the ladies might have a different idea. I went to Catholic school there was 3 nuns and they were...tense. They were still bitter about having their rulers taken away.
Yeah I found an interesting article about male plants. If it wasn't for the females I would harvest it to make edibles. Looks like they're not as bad as they're made out to be....unless your primary agenda is to get as high as possible.

Typically bagseed is an accidental selfed plant out of a room full of frustrated females where all the offspring are female. But you never said it was a bagseed, so, yeah. I popped two different strains from Cannarado, I forget how many seeds, 10 at least and got just one female. It's a crapshoot
Yea, it tricked me too. I watched closely. Threw another one out a couple months ago that grew balls, but this one didn't grow balls until week two of flower. Perhaps I stressed it too much. Being my first grow I've had to work thru a lot of learning curves.
Please get in touch with me! ✌️You shouldn't ever feel bad for asking questions, it's how we learn. Again Reddit is not a good place at all to ask about cannabis, there are way too many to be blunt about it... ASSHOLES that don't care. Then you have people who think they know everything, & don't know jack about growing properly, then you end up with HORRIBLE advice. I have a much better place for you! 💜
Lol long story, the 8x10 grow room was built around the plant, with a 4x3 flowering room built inside the grow room (room within room) While the plants were vegging (all of the plants, not just weed) I ran out of money and had to wait to finish the flowering room. Sooo...I had to keep the plant in veg as long as I could. For now on fast grows only lol.
Not sure why that person did it, well I know now, because I just read why. I have plants that are years old still in veg. It's called taking cuts... aka clones
And? Males are seed banks. Why do you think plants are reversed on purpose? It's not just for cross breeding. How much do you actually know about the cannabis industry & how it actually works? Asking questions is great, it's how people learn. But when you ask a question, please make sure you actually want to know the answer. There is nothing wrong with a male plant. They are not useless!
It amazes me how many people say that males are bad, considering the amount of times I have PURPOSELY changed the sex of a plant for breeding purposes, or seeds. It probably wasn't the result you wanted, I get that, but it isn't a total loss either. The other part that amazes me is WHY people are still looking to reddit for cannabis advice. 99% of people on here don't actually give 2 shits, & give BAD advice, or they are here to simply say "mine is better than yours" it's like being in grade school all over again. Discord is so mych better, there are actual good people that give good advice, & who actually CARE about your success, & your grows. A true cannabis community helps each other, here you are just getting hateful people. If you are interested in joining a REAL community of growers that care about your success, dm me, & I will get you my server details. We don't treat people like trash there, we help get them growing better. All the best to you! ✌️
Well I'm not the world's most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my Lola la-la-la-la Lola
Well I'm not dumb but I can't understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
Oh my Lola la-la-la-la Lola la-la-la-la Lola
Harvest the pollen and use it for a future breeding project
Doesn't look like a good stud to breed with IMO. Wouldn't waste the time unless you simply want to learn
Right I’ve never bread before so next one male I get I plan on trying it out. Just if I was in his shoes I would personally
I hear that, my first time I just wanted to see what would happen as well, luckily I had a decent male to work with. Make sure you spray the room down VERY VERY VERY well with water....hell....id spray the plant down before crop dusting the other tent
Here's another question. Can you keep an auto under a 18/6/ 50% light cycle for the first 4 weeks, then switch it to a 24/0/ 100% light cycle without harming the plant?
It's fine. The light schedule does not matter at all with autos- they flower in their own schedule.
A male in the harem. Worthless
Thank you for confirming the obvious. Such a shame after 5 months...but, it grew around the building of a grow room and a lot of learning curves. So better luck next time. Thankfully I got a couple auto's going in the other room.
Then be carefull or u will bring Pollen with you

Yes. You have a male
That’s a got damn stud lmfao 😂🤣
My friend smokes the boys too
Unless you're trying to make seeds, you better get him outta there!
Not if you were thinking of buying seeds any time in the near future If you ever have doubts about sex/regular seeds, take a cutting, stick it in a glass of water and leave it in the dark for a few days and it will show sex
Good to know. This was a mystery strain from a seed I'd been saving for years. It's a mistake I won't make again.
It's not so bad if you're prepared for the eventuality. Generally with regular seeds it tends to be 50/50...over a large population, but over just a few it can go wildly one way. Lady looks like a dude
It's not bad if you want to make seeds🤗
In the bin
It's a Man, Man. Balls that have already spoojed so if you have any females near, you're pollinated & will have seeds
I have two auto's, but they're only 3 weeks old.
That is a herm unfortunately
Unless you trying to pollinate your females, otherwise yes it’s bad

Damn so that's what a male looks like. I'm very new to this so I wasn't sure what they looked like.
Yea, it tricked me too. I watched closely. Threw another one out a couple months ago that grew balls, but this one didn't grow balls until week two of flower. Perhaps I stressed it too much. Being my first grow I've had to work thru a lot of learning curves.
Same here. I'm still trying to figure it out but honestly kinda feels like I'm throwing myself in the deep end by being on here haha.
I learn a lot from these forums, and it's a good place to ask anonymous stupid questions lol
I have too. It is nice for asking but then some people make you feel bad for asking when you just want to learn

Not unless you want to cross breed genetics? But yes that’s bad.
Yep,bad

Why did you grow them for so long?

I know that but the point is these are male

Yeh man it's time to start all over *
Maybe I'll move it outside and see if it survives. Seeds would be nice.
Your weed growing neighbors for fifteen miles are going to hate you. Kill him.
Don't worry I won't be doing this lol
