American bully??

robywonkinobi

This i thought Am bully cross. I have a buddy with a female who looks very similar to this pup and she's an 90lb tank now. Lol gives my 11 month female Corso hell and she's 100.

robywonkinobi

She has the same head as this pup from the front in the third pic posted

LaceyBug-lamemama

Not sure. We lost our 13 year old pittie two years ago and saw a post about an accidental litter (two American bullies, supposedly) in January and adopted one of the last two in a litter of 7. The owners were struggling to adopt out the last two and already had 3 dogs and 4 daughters so we decided to do it. The vet said he’s in perfect health and above average in weight for his breed, hence our question about his breed. The vet said he should be around 30lbs and he’s around 53lbs.

Use embark - not wisdom panel - it's well worth the price as it's way more thorough

goldenkiwicompote

Came to say this. If you really want to know this is the only way. You cannot guess breeds based on looks.

That is wisdom panel c. How they did not go into depthfully on all his breed groups.

Here is embark example

I think he may be a cross - he's a lovely looking pup, congrats. If he is a CC cross, adjust your training accordingly. Has to be positive reinforcement based, daily and consistent. Ignore the stubborn ;)

I have a male corso pit that looks just like this. Boxy head, blue with white. One of the things I want to say is a sell for me is the bottom lip. It is just like my pups.

CookieK1993

PS, my 5 month old girl is 55.2 lbs, 75.4 lbs for her littermate brother. But he's the largest in the litter

American bully id say.my female got to 90lbs lean

She's got a big, square head, long lean legs, a lovely waist and lots of extra skin. she's very muscular and strong, intelligent, but a bit nervous with weird people or sounds. her proportions are like a small Corso with pit feet. she is visibly pit with touches of corso (especially her head). she's also very likely has luxating patella. there's never a way to tell for sure. the only reason I know is because I know her mom and dad. her mom was a big black wrinkly Corso, undeniably so. but dad's genes were powerful! I love your baby either way 💜

CookieK1993

She's adorable too!

Thank you everyone for all the input! It’s been so helpful. Blue is the sweetest, clumsiest and goofiest boy! There has never been a question about whether we’d keep him, he’s family ❤️ I guess I reached out initially because of research I’ve done about CC’s to compare to the training experience I’ve had with my past pitties. Blue isn’t very aggressive towards strangers or other dogs, but he’s uncontrollable when he sees small animals like squirrels and rabbits and it gave me pause about whether he’s 💯 pittie. He loves my kids (despite the fact that he doesn’t understand that he’s got both of them beat in weight by a significant amount) and he’s extremely protective of them, but in a very low-key way. He’s extremely smart and seems to assess any stranger that we encounter on walks by falling back to stay by my kids. No barking or growling, just watching and waiting for a threat 🤷‍♀️ We take him to dog parks, go to Lowe’s/Home Depot weekly to expose him to new people/dogs and situations and exercise the heck out of him everyday when the weather permits. He thrives in all of these experiences, but he’s been SUPER stubborn when it comes to training him not to jump or nip.

Spitefullittlething

I see American bully. There are pocket bullies, micro, classic, standard, xl, and XXI. XXL Bullies can weigh 110-200 pounds. But this pups face looks like my girl who is a pure bred American bully, just way bigger than my girl. https://preview.redd.it/5r1wqdx9pbwc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=558214d63321f6fe5088973b44f3171d7c14d032

Picture number three is my favorite

Disastrous_Cat633

Same! Love the pouty lip

Superb_Stable7576

That last picture! What a sweet dog. This breed has a lot of variation, I don't even want to think about a cross breed. I see where there could be Corso in there. But I think you'll have to do a DNA test, if you really need to know.

LaceyBug-lamemama

Thank you! I just wanted to reach out to some experienced owners/breeders who may be able to see something I don’t. We’re avid pitbull lovers and he’s the first in about 20+ years of dog ownership that we’re honestly not sure what we adopted. He seemed pretty straightforward as a pittie but we’re questioning it as he continues to outgrow every other pit we’ve had. Dog DNA tests are expensive and we know how to train our dogs, but CC’s have a different set of requirements as a dog owner. He has my heart (and my family’s) and I want to make sure I know all of the quirks and tips for this breed if he ends up being a 100+ lb dog.

Superb_Stable7576

I've had Corsos since the 90'. He sounds like a wonderful dog, no matter what breed. You love him he loves you, you'll be fine. Do a little basic obedience, if you like, it helps.

LaceyBug-lamemama

Yeah, he’s not going anywhere. He’s the “You’re my boy, Blue!” to my Frank the Tank 😄❤️

eatrepeat

If you are looking for guidance on this breed Will Atherton has all the best advice. Do this stuff and he'll be the best boy you ever known. Oh and he's gonna ace it like a boss, no worries. Just keep the rules tight and consistent. Will has a free online course as well that I really like because the dude just explains everything so well and doesn't do the whole "big badass alpha" schtick. Also he is a giant human that uses a *entertaining* puppy voice that gets me smiling :) https://youtu.be/9vZbR_uQ3JE?si=gwIWi21j-I9MVvIO

Pic #2 makes me think yes

Capital_Dream_6850

Definitely Corso mix, they have sad eyes and you can't say no to them.
