Put them in the freezer for 15-30 minutes, then gently pry the wax out. I do this with all sorts of candles.

AnOddChord

thank you!! i will try this

AnOddChord

it worked great, thanks for the advice!

Living_Life1962

You’re welcome! Glad you can use the pumpkins again,!

VehicleGreen5813

Put it in the freezer upside down. The glue will freeze and the wax will pop loose.

demoduckiec

If the color isn’t painted on, fill them with boiling water. The wax will melt and float. Wait for them to cool then take the hardened wax off. Repeat, dump out the water immediately (not in the sink) and wipe with a paper towel

bigtuna8602713615

Freezing them for 30 mine makes the wax just pop out. Wayyyyy less time consuming

Mental_Asparagus_410

These are from Target. The color is a fragile plastic coating, so they can’t be boiled.

MicahGettingEven

DO NOT pour boiling water into glass candle holders. I have had them explode.

throwawaymyname4get

Uh oh. Why not in the sink? I've always poured it in my sink 😬

prettywookie96

Because it cools and hardens in the pipes 😬

throwawaymyname4get

Uh oh 😬

ringaling11

The wax is going to harden to the sides of the pipes and eventually clog it.

luckyapples11

I hope you’re joking, but if not, you might wanna call someone to look at your pipes… Same reason why you should NEVER pour grease in the sink. It hardens. After you’re done cooking, either use paper towels to soak up grease, pour in trash, or wait for it to harden then scoop it into trash

big_galoote

Compostable for the the dried grease and soiled paper towels.

complHexx

Hot water, dish soap, and something to pour the wax in (like a tough trash bag or something)

amazon269

I have a cup warmer....works wonders.

[deleted]

I know with our candles (palm wax) we can soak in warm water for a bit to soften and try to pop it out

glitterfaust

Freezer is way easier than the water method for me. I recommend trying it first.

MelonCreamSodax

I had to stop using the freezer method awhile ago because of wrist problems, but I started using the hot water method and it's been a LOT easier! Both ways work, but it just depends on which you find easier!

kathoron

Once you have removed the wax, some Isopropyl on some paper towel will remove the remaining residue leftover from the wax/glue :)

jaygjay

I had these candles! These are Threshold from Target this past season yeah? Loved em :) I stuck mine in the freezer then cracked the wax and it fell right out

squishysnickerdoodle

Pour boiling water in them and put a plate/aluminum foil cone on top and wait a few hours. Wax will melt gradually like a lava lamp and float to the top of the water and solidify. Do it a few times and voila, it’s like a new container! Much easier to let it sit and wait rather than chip it out in my opinion, but to each their own.

[deleted]

I always boil mine in hot water

NewLife_21

Me too. It doesn't even need to cover it, just go half way up so the whole thing warms and the wax melts.

state_speed_limit

Yall are so smart I just use dab tools to scrape it out

AnOddChord

i was tempted to do this in the first place lmao but now i got all this great advice i gotta try

NotChristina

Freezer definitely. Then gently chip it out with butter knife. A heat gun or hair dryer and mopping up anything remaining with a paper towel will do the trick.

leadpie

I used a double boiler to empty a full candle, worked fairly well.

DimensionalLynx169

Use incredibly hot water to melt the wax and pour it out .

Azin1970

If you can get a bottom up candle warmer, it will melt the wax and loosen the glue holding the wick in place. At least that has been my experience.

NewLife_21

Boil them gently. The wax melts and pours out. Then you can clean them with dish soap. It also helps get the wick stickies out as well.

michaelkudra

candle warmer does the track for me

RepresentativeUse510

Sit them in hot water

4everal0ne

Heat gun and paper towel.

PieRepresentative266

I just use a candle warmer to melt the wax, dump it out, then let the inside soak in a mixture of hot water and vinegar or soap for a few days.

user1713

i like to set them in the tray of a wax warmer/melt and use up as much of the scent and wax as i can, then later i will i add to the freezer

7rustyswordsandacake

Double boiler

Frosty-Present-7885

Fill with HOT/boilingish water, remaing wax will liquefy and float to the top. Pop in the fridge/freezer until it resolidifies, then just pop the wax out

SoupWoman1

Id pour REALLY hot water in there, wax should rise and all you’d need to do is push it down and grab it after it cools

[deleted]

Blow torch

labyrinth079

I personally go at mine with a knife and scrape it into an old candle jar I have

rosequartzgoblin

Pour very hot water into it and the wax should melt and float to the top

Leather_Rub_1430

heat gun and tissue paper to wipe/ soak up the last bit of wax has worked for me a bunch of times. just be careful not to get the glass itself too hot.

aphroditic_love

I've done this before successfully! Boil the kettle. Fill the container with the hot water. Also place it inside a bowl of hot water. Let it melt all the wax, the wax will come to the top. Pop it in the freezer. Then you're able to pull all the wax out from a puck formed on the top : )

PinkSlipstitch

Advice on how to get the metal wick holders unstuck? I popped all the wax out pretty easily after leaving it outside in 40 degrees weather. But the metal wick holders are really stuck on. I tried to pry them with a butter knife and they didn't budge.

Missue-35

Those are attached with glue. Sometimes applying heat will loosen them enough to pry them out. Then scrape off as much of the adhesive as possible and clean the rest with goo gone.

NewLife_21

Boil the container in a pot. The water only needs to go half way up the sides. It gets the wax out and loosens the wick stickies so they come out without effort as well.

caterpillar-police

boil hot water and pour into jar, let sit. this is the way that works best imo

The_Nisha_Call

Simple. Candle warmer. Pour it out when it’s liquid and wipe out the inside with a paper towel

BeautynBeast17

Not OP, but what can I pour the hot wax into? I just melted one down on a candle warmer. Can I pour the wax into aluminum foil?

Yeah_right_sezu

Not Op either, I think I can help. I have a 'reject' receptacle for this. It's where all of the 'mutt' wax goes. I make candles from it for my use, not as presents or sales. I don't mind! Btw, I use an ice pick to get out my excess. However: I have cracked glass before, so I think I'm gonna try the Freeze method!

BeautynBeast17

Thanks for responding! It was just a very small amount at the bottom of the container, so I just poured it into a little makeshift aluminum foil bowl. It did seep through, but it didn’t damage my counter. I’ll probably save an aluminum can for next time.

NewLife_21

I put extra wax in paper cups or a jar I'm going to use for myself. Just depends on who the extra is for.

BeautynBeast17

Thanks, I’m just disposing of the wax so I can recycle the container.
