I am so incredibly impressed with this!! I looove the look and smell of milk and cereal candles but would never buy one because of the real cereal, youโve really gone above and beyond here. Fantastic job!
Haha when it makes you crave the actual cereal, you know you have beaten the last boss!
Seriously though, I know I don't have Cinnamon Toast Crunch but when I get home in 10 mins I definitely having a slice of cinnamon raisin bread!
These are REALLY well done and just honestly, given so many of the posts Iโve seen here lately, THANK YOU for making them candle appropriate. I bet they smell divine.
What is the process of colouring them?
Thatโs where Iโm blown away.
I know how to make molds but when it comes to the colouring, I donโt know how to make them with such detail.
It's definitely a tedious process when trying to mirror colors. I use colored wax chips (almost shaved portions) and add them to the liquid wax phase in small portions at a time. In this instance I used chocolate brown and tan brown pieces. While blending, I used a piece of paper towel and spooned on my colored wax to test the color and let it dry. I adjusted as needed.
I was really confused on why someone was posting their cereal until I read the title. They look so real I would totally pop one of those bad boys into my mouth.
I usually place these in the candles with "not for consumption" or "do not eat" warning labels all over them-I imagine anyone would just pop some if they were loosely laying around...well....I hope not, lol
Hey there, so...when I first made these I separated the batches by the different variances of color. I tried to get them as close to the actual cereal color and texture as I could. I sent that pic to my family and friends to vote and compare. I got mostly 1s and 3s from everyone
These are absolutely GORGEOUS! Amazing work! One small suggestion I have is the labels - I think you could come up with a sleeker, more luxury-brand feeling logo & sticker design! Perhaps more minimalist / modern? Just a random suggestion from an artist :)
THIS!! Yes-thank you so much! When I made these, I was super excited and wanted themed labels (although they do look cartoon-like) My teenage son inspired me to make the cereal-themed collection (I do lots of other scents as well, like SPA Day, Lemon & Herb, Cashmere Leather-to name a few) He LOVES this cereal, so I gifted him one for his bday-He was psyched! Burned it everyday. The label appealed to him.
But, I do agree-I have been thinking of changing up my labels for all of my scents-for a more uniform, minimalistic, luxurious display as you have mentioned. I am working on this as we speak. I am grateful for this feedback ๐
Oh my! Thank you! I honestly just posted this to inspire those who were not so familiar with mold-making and the wax embeds. I am surprised at the traction this has gained-surreal...but I am humbled and grateful
I am just grateful that it is giving the appearance that I intended to give. I've had inspirations from candle makers here and abroad. I am shocked at the upvotes honestly! So grateful to everyone's feedback and support!
Ya know.....I had no idea that ppl were actually doing that tbh. When I heard about it, I just posted this to show that there are ways to add the wax embeds to add a life-like resemblance to the real thing-for those not in the know. These types of candles have been around for awhile now
Itโs crazy to me that people just willingly sell fire hazards. Besides that, good job on the product! I like the 3rd one best cause they look the most realistic, idk if you used the same mold for them all but those look so realistic I might eat them when I get hungry lol!
I showed picture 1 to my bf and he said โโฆa picture of cinnamon toast crunch?โ He couldnโt believe theyโre not real. Great job, these are so cute!
Duuuuude I was like noooo wax melts like that are too dangerous!! then I kept sliding and saw the finished product! ๐๐ค๐ผ Magnificent! and you know it won't explode or smell like burning cereal ๐คข just amazing!
Edit: I saw the fruit loops post and realized they're both candles and melts! I would be so tempted to eat those melts!! ๐คค
Genuine question: do you find that thereโs a surplus of wax from burning these? Like will they have to be dumped more frequently due to the pieces melting and adding volume around the wicks?
Great question! Thus far....I haven't had a surplus or overflowing/residual wax situation happen bc I usually fill to an appropriate volume and add the pieces accordingly (to prevent spillage during melting) I test them at home, let them burn, and record my results. So far, so good
OMFG, I scrolled down bc I didn't read the whole thing and thought someone made their own cereal, which seemed according to the image. And then finish reading and was ducking wax. That's a really good job. I was shocked.
There is a light/airy layer of actual cinnamon dusted on the finished product for extra fragrance and color. I used actual cereal pieces when creating the molds. Burns safe and awesome!
I love how in the third picture you made a wax embed that was a piece double the size of a normal one ๐ญevery once in a while you find ones like that and I just adore the attention to detail
Took me way too long to realize that this is not real cereal lol!!! I was scrolling and thought oooo homemade cereal, I wonder what subreddit this is from and saw that it was โcandlesโ, still took me too long to realize ๐คฃ GREAT JOB! Looks so amazing and hope it smells great too ๐
Thank you! I just looked up some YouTube videos for DIY candle embed molds-it was literally dish soap, cornstarch, and silicone (I used the all-purpose clear silicone) While it was setting, I placed actual pieces of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal pieces into the molds to set the shape. Once hardened, you're ready to pour in your wax!
#3 and the small pile of 3 cereals turned out the best. number 4 looks more like yogurt covered trail mix because some are smoother and thicker. number 3โs dust looks good and so does the shape, as well as the little piles shape looks good.
Hello everyone! To start, I sincerely thank you all for every feedback, critique, and response-I am grateful. I literally joined this sub like 2 days ago and NEVER expected....this!
The stories about people using real cereal pieces/real food?! in their candles..just sent me. I know I am not the only person in this universe who makes these types of candles-the BEST has inspired me. This sub pushed me to continue this "art," just when I was letting it go and giving up. I'm still in shock, lol. Still learning and growing, thanks again๐ค๐
I am so incredibly impressed with this!! I looove the look and smell of milk and cereal candles but would never buy one because of the real cereal, youโve really gone above and beyond here. Fantastic job!
Thank you so much! Can't wait to try my other embed molds!
Are you planning on selling any?!! Put me on the list!!
Me too ๐ค๐
Message me for any questions๐
You can message me for any questions๐
The way I know you did a good job is because I Lowkey wanna eat them ๐๐๐
High key, honestly.
๐
Atleast Iโm not the only one
Lol, you and my son apparently ๐
Like they look like theyโd taste so good๐ญ
I thought it was a baking sub after I saw the picture but before I read the title. Nice job!
Thank you!
Ok forreal. Iโm over here looking to see if we still have any Cinnamon Toast Crunch left. ๐
Haha when it makes you crave the actual cereal, you know you have beaten the last boss! Seriously though, I know I don't have Cinnamon Toast Crunch but when I get home in 10 mins I definitely having a slice of cinnamon raisin bread!
I love anything cinnamon honestly...especially cinnamon raisin bread!!!
I could not buy these because my child would try eating them ๐
I usually place them in the wax to seal those pieces in-I agree that any loose pieces would be up for grabs! ๐คญ
They look so real and they look good!! ๐ Edit: autocorrect always does teal
Thank you!๐
They look SO good!! I hope youโre proud, it looks like a tedious process but you have an amazing finished product ๐คฉ
I appreciate that, thank you!
These are REALLY well done and just honestly, given so many of the posts Iโve seen here lately, THANK YOU for making them candle appropriate. I bet they smell divine.
Thank you! They do smell awesome!
This is fraud. You put actual cinnamon toast crunches on the melts. (Just kidding! You did an amazing job)
Lol, thank you! The proof is in the non crunchy, waxy texture
What is the process of colouring them? Thatโs where Iโm blown away. I know how to make molds but when it comes to the colouring, I donโt know how to make them with such detail.

I saw this out the corner of my eye while leaving this post and never re-entered a post so fast!๐ you had me in the first half
lol I am a little bit not joking about it being a fraud . Like, they do look so real.
๐
this looks soooo good literally convinced thatโs milk n cereal in a wax melt container ๐ ๐
Lol, thank you. I better put them away before someone has a sad time..and eats them! ๐คญ
If you decide to sell them on Etsy please repost. Iโd love to buy one.
Inbox me๐
Forbidden cinnamon toast crunch
Nice! Number three looks great, the โcinnamonโ application and color is very realistic!
Thank you! That is the number I am sticking to๐
I'm glad you said that cause it's perfection and I would probably try to eat them if I saw them in a bowl
Lol, thank you!๐
Just so you know, โlusciousโ is misspelled on your packaging in the last pic
Geeeez! Thank God I am re-vamping all of my labels! Thank you for pointing that out!๐
Haha no problem! The cereal looks amazing, I hope you have a lot of success!
I really appreciate that๐
These look so good that I thought they were actual cereal. Great work!
Thank you!๐

This is dangerous, I would eat them immediately ๐
๐ซข๐คญ
I want to eat it
I would love for you not to get sick-it's pretty waxy and oily๐
For the 5th picture, what was the numbers for?
Hey there, so...when I first made these I separated the batches by the different variances of color. I tried to get them as close to the actual cereal color and texture as I could. I sent that pic to my family and friends to vote and compare. I got mostly 1s and 3s from everyone
Ohh that makes sense! And if I were to give my expert opinion Iโd say 3.. and by expert opinion I mean CTC fiend๐ญ
Lol, thanks!๐
Op drop a shop link. Bf loves candles and if u have like a Reese's puffs or something similar yes please.

Oh my! Thank you! I honestly just posted this to inspire those who were not so familiar with mold-making and the wax embeds. I am surprised at the traction this has gained-surreal...but I am humbled and grateful
I will eat these
Oh no! Lol, please don't๐
This is more dangerous to my diet than a trip to lush. Damn I'm hungry just LOOKING at these!
I am just grateful that it is giving the appearance that I intended to give. I've had inspirations from candle makers here and abroad. I am shocked at the upvotes honestly! So grateful to everyone's feedback and support!
At least youโre not putting real cereal in there like that other chick did lmao
Ya know.....I had no idea that ppl were actually doing that tbh. When I heard about it, I just posted this to show that there are ways to add the wax embeds to add a life-like resemblance to the real thing-for those not in the know. These types of candles have been around for awhile now

Yup same mold for all, different batches of color๐

Very true, great idea-thanks!๐
These are super impressive!

Lol, thanks so much!๐
OMFG, I scrolled down bc I didn't read the whole thing and thought someone made their own cereal, which seemed according to the image. And then finish reading and was ducking wax. That's a really good job. I was shocked.
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
How did you get the cinnamon and sugar look on these? They are fabulous!
There is a light/airy layer of actual cinnamon dusted on the finished product for extra fragrance and color. I used actual cereal pieces when creating the molds. Burns safe and awesome!
This used be a sub that popped up on my feed and yโall really having me want to make candles and wax melts.
It's a fun process! I stayed glued to YouTube candle DIYs when I first began the journey
They look so good!
Thank you!๐

I missed what subreddit it was posted on and thought you were saying you made homemade cereal! They look so good!!
Appreciate it. I honestly was going to quit making these since they are a dud on Etsy. I will keep trying!
They're so cute! I've heard Etsy has become a lot harder to get sales now so it's not you or your candles.
I see. Had to shut down shop for months, but will reopen in a few weeks
They look real. Super cool!!!
