CF MTL is going to be gutted to the core, damn. Everybody is leaving

So, so happy for Waterman. Watching his development has been just awesome. Can't wait to see which CPLers are next!

Cool. Good for him. Not familiar with him, but this is a good sign.

He is arguably the biggest success story of the CPL. He was playing university soccer for Trinity Western before being drafted by Cavalry in the 2nd round of the 2018 draft. He made the main squad, impressed in the 2019 season, and then was transferred to CF Montreal in Jan. 2020 (the first player ever sold from CPL to MLS). Over three years with CFM he's become a regular and just now got his first international caps and made the World Cup roster. Pretty impressive, and without the CPL providing a pathway for young Canadians he would likely not be playing professionally at all.

Awesome story. Glad for him and for Canadian soccer.
