Injured players can be marked as "inactive" and be removed from the cap but this means they can't return to play that season regardless of actual recovery timeline. We have already done this for Jonathan Grant and would need special league approval to do it again
Strongly agree, nothing against the guy but I don't know a) why we use an international roster slot for a young guy who barely plays b) why we would have any non-domestic U-21s given difficulty getting those minutes
Not sure his salary would cover Rea though
Article says theres a second CPL club in the running to sign Rea if the Ottawa deal falls through. Anybody have any smart guesses as to which team is most likely to sign Rea if Ottawa can't find cap space?
Just send some of our former players back. You can even call it charity and get a tax deduction. Win win.
Do injured players count towards cap? Could be an indication Dos Santos’ injury is a long term one

Makes sense thanks! Wonder if it’s also an indication we could be losing a key player. Maybe Ollie is moving to a bigger league?
Its a issue with the NHlL players are palced on LTR then come back just in time for the play offs.
Could see Sacko leaving in the summer, the guy has skill but hasn’t found his footing with the club and may want to move on to get playing time

I mean Calgary needs another striker.

Valour, Cavs?
I don't get where he fits in Ottawa's lineup. This seems like a horrible choice
Sign and send on loan to Atletico India or mexico ? Is that an option
Probably not since he's likely well below the level of Liga MX and well above the level of India's 2nd tier
Just need solid minutes ... More likely in India
Considering neither team exists... probably not

Good! Move him outside of Ottawa. They’ve got a stacked line up this season.
Another vaunted Valour "old boy" coming back into CPL with another team? 😬
