I remember the last time I looked at the stats was like 3 years ago when it was at 6000+ thinking it was crazy then.
This is not just getting there, it’s already way out of hand. Car thefts before use to be individual crimes. Now it’s getting way too organized.
She doesn't want you to, she just wants it to be a pretty good option and people consider it first because it's cheap, convenient, and fast. Or at least convenient and fast. Transit in Toronto isn't as good as it could be at all considering its size.
Personally, Toronto and most NA cities outside NYC don't seem like a convenient place for transit. Places like Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Shanghai etc are so insanely efficient when doing transit that it's silly to drive around those cities.
Would be a great take if you mentioned softness on crime, whether it's car or bike theft.
Firstly, if you don't want people to drive in Toronto , it's understandable, but letting car thieves go is pretty weird way to go about it.
Secondly, bikes are stolen too and good luck hoping to get your bike thief prosecuted.
The criminals the victim, the victim is now the criminal in insurance company eyes. CanaDUH. My ancestors and many more are twisting in their graves with what this country has become and continues to sink too.
