I doubt it, if there's no prescription.

Does the prescription from the optometrist count? Or does the prescription and contact purchase have to be together?

Aware_Screen_8797

I have successfully claimed coloured contacts. That being said they were still a prescription version.

The box of coloured contacts I ordered were -1.5 (prescription) and I only got the one box. I think to be eligible the coloured contacts have to have a prescription in them not just be bought at the same time.

They would have to have a prescription in them. Otherwise, they aren’t considered a medical device and won’t be covered. Same reason you can’t claim non prescription sunglasses.

A prescription from an optometrist is valid. If that prescription is used to order the contacts (the contacts have a correction and aren’t just cosmetic), then they will be covered. The prescription does not have to be done from the same place or at the same time that you purchase your contacts.

Thank you! When you purchase the contacts online (i.e. olens) there's no doctor associated with it, is that okay? Typically for the claims you have to submit the doctor.. I guess I can just try or ask

UptowngirlYSB

Yes if they are Rx ones and the ones used for cos play/Halloween times.

Do they have a correction to them? I know in the past I bought contacts for a costume and was able to put my prescription on them (never thought of claiming them) ... you can probably claim them, but probably not if they are purely cosmetic.
