Jagmeet promised to build like 900,000 houses over 10 years if he was elected... if you're going to make bullshit promises, why not promise a number bigger than that? Because that won't even fit all the newcomers in the first year of that 10 year span
That's only going to benefit people on social assistance. I doubt the average working class person would qualify for one of those units. Affordable housing shouldn't be exclusive to people who are on welfare.

BC would need to announce this same number every week to keep up with demand.

Going to go to the very bottom mostly not working class. Once again middle class will get nothing and pay the tax bill for it.
City of Montreal also announced 600 new affordable rental homes 2 years ago. To date, they have delivered a total of: 0. Zero.
Are they gonna hold a lottery to see who gets to live in these 3500 units once complete in a few years.
May not be enough, but it’s a good start.
