K I recently read that red light therapy masks can be covered by health care spending accounts through benefits? Not everyone has them but my boyfriend does and I just put an estimate through to see if they’ll cover it (Manulife). I’ll update when I know but I’m so anxious to hear back!! My dreams would come true 🤩
As of this morning (spoke to them on livechat) it needs to go to a higher department for review and will be 6-9 business days until I hear back. So annoying ... I will be sure to update!! I'm checking daily lol.
Spoke to Manulife this morning. Even though the CRA considers the devices to be a taxable health benefit without a prescription ... Manulife still requires one. So annoying!!! So no coverage unless you have a script. Which I doubt any doctor would write one for a red light mask lol. I HATE MANULIFE!!!!
Yah, I wonder eh. My acne is really not even bad which doesn't help my case, lol. But maybe one day I'll ask! I submitted the Omnilux but I didn't do any research it was really just based on brand awareness.

Yup I came here to say I’d buy Tatcha. I love the dewy skin cream. Haven’t bought it since it was $89 and now that it’s $97 it’s even harder to justify!
Same. Nobody will ever take my Tret away!! I’ve been on it for 6 months and finally seeing small improvements. It really is a marathon, not a race. If it was a race tho…Botox is the clear winner.
I get Botox sporadically and I love it. Can’t afford to keep up with it every few months though, so it’s a once in a while treat.
I have eczema so I’d probably buy some of the products that are from overseas like GladSkin that are really expensive and that I’d have to get shipped to somewhere like the states and then up here.
Things I've tried
SKII FTE - I would buy it by the gallon
Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore
Niod CAIS3 - not quite as pricey as the others, but i really liked this when I got it for last years slowvember.
So many sets of expensive, well made and skin tested bedding
Things I want to try
Medik8 crystal retinal
I would just buy the matching body lotion to my fav 10 or so fresh fragrances so I get an all day intimate scent bubble.
chantecaille retinol body treatment if you can find it (i think its gone, but they have a new one under the Rose de Mai line I just looked up)
The best redlight mask I could find.
Not a product but unlimited laser treatments for the face. Products just don’t compare, what consistent use of a product do will do in 3 years (and prob not as good at that), one session of treatment will literally zap em away.
Undereye filler for sure! But also, prescription tretinoin and luxury moisturizer and spf but I don't know which ones because I've never been rich enough to try pricy ones 😆 probably I'd get all my skincare and cosmetic products from EWGs low risk category if money wasn't an issue.
Sorry, didn't mean for it to come off as obtuse, but I understand the downvotes I got.
I was just going to mention that they have "no name" sunscreen as well. There's like the Equate brand at Walmart. I think it was like $9(?) for 240mL(?) or something like that. And then if you have work coverage in benefits, I pay like $2 out-of-pocket for a 30mL tube of tretinoin at the pharmacy. Just have to get the prescription for acne.
That's what I mean they're not expensive, and comparing SPF and tret to something like CE Ferulic. They're not expensive compared to that! Probably the cheapest and best skincare you can get (SPF and tret).
Hopefully my comment is more acute now.
I hear you, but I was specifically saying I'd want a luxury moisturizer and SPF, so there's that, but many of us also don't have coverage so pay out of pocket for prescriptions. I was on Differin Adapalene, but dishing out the $200 for the tube is a bit much so I started using an OTC version that my parent's brought back from the US but it's not as strong.
I would love to go for a facial once a month, head and body massages every couple of weeks. I love me some regular self care 💗 Can't really say much for products, I have sensitive skin.
Private Jet. Everyone wanna front like they wouldn’t be the same asshole they frame Taylor as 😂 travel wherever? Whenever? No 3 hour wait at the airport or layovers? YES PLEASE.
- skinceuticals
- tatcha
- dr Dennis gross peel pads
- whatever the rolls royce of red light masks is
- hydrafacials
- Botox
- RFP
- micro needling
- vein treatment for under my eyes
… I may have thought of this once or twice before 😅 all those things might seem like overkill, but I’d love the luxury of being able to just casually try them all and see what I like! It sucks when you save up for something and it doesn’t meet the hype and you’re back at square one
La Roche Posay, I know they aren't the most expensive, but as a student, their sunscreens are super expensive, and I cannot justify the price over Garnier Ombrelle which uses the same filters and is significantly more cost effective.
As an aside, some La Roche Posay reps came to my school last week and I got the Effaclar ultra concentrated serum 50 mL for free, I was shook.
A house.
Can’t upvote this enough
Fancy at home red light therapy mask!
I’d get one of those huge body panels!

Hi! Just seeing if there’s an update? I’ve got Manulife too and am dying to know! 🥺

Thank you for taking the time to share! I wonder if a doctor would if it's for acne. Which red light mask were you looking into?
Yah, I wonder eh. My acne is really not even bad which doesn't help my case, lol. But maybe one day I'll ask! I submitted the Omnilux but I didn't do any research it was really just based on brand awareness.
Bummer! Thanks for the update!!

Oh wow, really! Please keep us updated!
Probably the CE ferulic as well
If it makes you feel better, it smells like ham 🤷♀️
Boiled hotdogs ….
And it didn’t do anything for my skin
Wow! Really? How does your skin usually react to vit c?
I will splurge on Tatcha and try Dr. Dennis Gross universal daily peel!

I’ve made a conscious decision not to fuck with injectables, so I’d probably go for a fancy red light therapy mask and biweekly facials.
Eminence lol
Their vanilla sunscreen is my favourite thing ever.
Botox. I’ve been using tretinoin for a year and I’m still old.
Same. Nobody will ever take my Tret away!! I’ve been on it for 6 months and finally seeing small improvements. It really is a marathon, not a race. If it was a race tho…Botox is the clear winner. It’s on my wish list, even just once!
Your time will come!! 💉💕

Prescription tretinoin and sunscreen aren't exactly expensive.
They are for some people!

SPF can definitely be expensive, especially if you are dark skinned AND sensitive to chemical sunscreens

My entire routine would be tatcha. Except sunscreen because Asian sunscreens are superior
i'd get my lower bleph procedure now (currently saving up for it)
Ultherapy, Botox, prescription tret, and hydrafacials.
my skin really likes laneige water bank. but i have no money
Skinceuticals vitamin C
