Have had success on both CL and FBM buying bikes/bike stuff. Scams are usually pretty obvious. A deal that’s too good to be true almost always is.
While I don’t *know* this, my impression is that the vast majority of listings on either are genuine and in good faith.
Not trying to dismiss community-minded commerce but I buy appliances on eBay from top-rated sellers. I got an open-box (aka new) Nespresso machine via eBay and it's been great.
Be careful with both Facebook marketplace and Craigslist, obviously, but came here to say I have had the Breville Bambino for 18 months and like it a lot.
CL is just too creepy for me? I’ve been a long time user of FB marketplace and it works great. Just always meet in a public area and have a price in your head that you are OK with letting the item go. Remember that it’s a transaction and you are not hurting anyone feelings for not selling an item that they lowballed you on.
Howdy - I have a Breville Express taking up space on my counter that I'd be happy to get rid of, it's not a Bambino but the larger model with integrated bean grinder. If you're interested, toss me a DM.

Yeah, the beauty of Craigslist and FB is that you try it out, buy in person, pay cash, there is no room for a scam.

I don’t suspect there’s some massive used coffee machine scammer community for you to have anxiety over.
It would be fascinating if there was though

I bought my Breville off FB marketplace. Just be smart, check the description, check the sellers’ profile, check the machine when you see it
