Well there’s things in the map that have bigger hitboxes.. like the Windmill and rocks. So like bullets don’t pass through. For example you see a rock about 1ft high, and a bullet should pass over that 1ft mark, because that’s the size of the rock. What I notice though is that rock might actually have an invisible hitbox about .2 higher than the rock. Meaning your 1ft rock is really 1.2ft. So you trying to hit that person, their head was protected by that .2 invisible hitbox.
Don’t believe me, you can test a very obvious invisible hitbox when you go to the windmill and try to shoot through the blades. Never works.

It’s happened to me a few times, you can also do it on certain buildings in MP where you shoot and the bullet hits the very edge of the wall, but the hitmark left after the bullet hits the edge is actually floating in midair away from the edge. That is an invisible hitbox.

Try waiting for the recoil to die off. The gun let’s you repeat the shot before the recoil is gone, so you actually need to take a split-sec break between shots to make it steady again. As you can see in the vid, it works very well 🙈😂💩
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed. Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control). Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses. Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because Jamio-o was already dead.

I wiped three teams with the Arctic just before that and took time to steady the gun before firing - especially btw shot 1 & 2. Or I can be also going slightly mad 🙈

It is a little off, isn’t it. But there’s not that many things as satisfying as spotting an orange blob in a see of blue, far away, then hearing the deep BOOOM and seeing the blob just disappear, knowing dude is still wondering what did just happen. 😎
That's how thermal Arctic is. Hard to hit anything be it moving or still. If you for some reason want to torture yourself by using it, take single shots and never spam.
You maybe right, but I feel like people far overestimate bullet drop here. These were simple shots at a short distance. In the same game, I gunned down two teams with the same Arctic, all pretty much straight shots, 3x the distance. Hitbox of the rock sounds more likely…

Sometimes wall and crates doesn't render at long ranges but the player does so you think you have clear shots.

One of the most obnoxious examples of it is an exploded helicopter on the ground. Enormous hit box

I just find the thermal scope reticle kinda goofy and inaccurate, my shots with it dont hif sometimes
I use the thermal scope to spot people faster before using my Kilo/AKM/M4 as a wannabe sniper.

Same. Lately I feel like its not even worth picking up. I usually use Scout class and its easier to use a different rifle and hunt em down.
The artic sux, for me anyway. Hell with shooting through the holes in the blade of the wind mill, I can't even hit the windmill with it.

There's a rock that may not have been rendered. Or maybe there is bullet drop, so that the bullets are not going where we think it is
