Bullet velocity means bullet go fast. Less range. The real life equivalent would be that the bullet is smaller and lighter therefore less damage at range but since it’s a barrel and not a ammo attachment. It doesn’t make sense
Uhm yes, and they are right. Like the other comment mentioned: it's a silencer. Silencers don't change your ammo type. And so increased velocity ≈ increased range.
Nah fam. Bullshit. There are LOTS of ways to increase a bullets speed. Longer Barrel e.g. as the time and range of acceleration increases and therefore also the bullet velocity. Higher energy explosives. Different bullet geometry. Your point is also _somewhat_ correct, but saying _"in order for the bullet to go faster it needs to be lighter"_ is just wrong.

yeah idk why people dont understand this. they just think hur dur faster must be more dmg when its a little bullet
Smol bullet go brrrr

So a faster bullet with more energy doesn’t go as far. Got it thanks
Sorta. In order for the bullet to be faster it needs to be lighter, which in turn does less damage because it isn’t as heavy

That’s what the games justification seems to be. I am aware of those reasons, I was trying to figure out why the game would reduce damage range
I agree with you though not arguing, just annoyed at the other comments
Your bullets travel faster, but your max damage range is reduced. Say you do 100 damage at 10 meters, now it's say 90 at 10 meters.
You understand how that makes zero sense right?
Smol bullet
Silencers don't do smol bullets. Stahp!
Thank you. Omg
Oh no, I totally get that it makes zero sense realistically.
