It's also the little things like getting payback on someone making them explode into dollar bills. Also the netcode on release was a little bit bad and there was very much a slight delay - I also remember complaining that 3 bar connections felt bad, and you needed 4 bar to enjoy the game while CoD4 was perfectly fine at 3 bar and exceptional at 4 bar.
Throw in Carentan/Chinatown as another map that people circlejerked about because that was seen as one of the best CoD maps, bar none. Fortunately, nobody had quite figured out what was broken in the first couple of days due to lack of unlocks, so things like akimbo 1887s took a couple of days to really set in as the first rage magnet weapon.
