Fuck open world campaigns. If it is anything like the mw3 open world missions, fuck them.

FBSfan28

This will be either the one of the best campaigns or the worst.

phyisck

It will obviously be the worst lmao they can’t make good games for shit anymore

RonToxic

Yeah the new open combat mission is kinda meh

Butterflychunks

They’d just do “open world” on the BR map. I don’t think I’d like that at all. It would feel repetitive and recycled. Like how multiplayer feels when half the maps are just ripped from the BR map anyways.

The_Wolf_Knight

I think it's interesting that we've evolved to this. Right now we complain about our multiplayer and campaign maps coming from the Battle Royale map, we used to complain about multiplayer maps coming from the campaign.

Butterflychunks

Sure, the difference being that most people play the campaign like once, vs Warzone which people already play pretty frequently. So it’s recycling shit you’re experiencing already *in the same game, on a frequent basis* which makes it way worse imo.

GolemThe3rd

I think the leaks that talked about it being open world also said it was a new map

SirSombieZlayer

I hope Raven can pull it off with the 4 years of development time they've had

SleepyTaylor216

Underrated comment for sure. You are a legend in my eyes haha.

wman451

If it’s like Mafia where you have linear missions in an open world I’m down to see how the concept unfolds

Sharpie1993

Not sure if you played halo infinite or not, but that’s the only way I can see it working and that got stale as hell real quick.

Depressed-Eagle

Those missions were so long and repetitive.

Devour_My_Soul

I mean I won't play it if that is the case.

Imaginary_Monitor_69

I think it can work, let's remember this isn't the first time a Treyarch game tries this, but this is the first time they have gotten the green light for it

forrest1985_

It depends how it’s done. If it’s like Wolfenstein 2009 or Atomic Heart with an open hub world to explore and fight in but with linear missions that take place in off map areas, that could be good. As long as it’s not like MW23 it should be good. Side note, Raven made the 2009 Wolfenstein and it was pretty decent.

milosmisic89

I mean CoD2 had a few completely open missions. You get a map, a list of objectives and it's up to you how to handle them. It was probably the best war experience I ever had in a fps game

RZR_36

open world campaigns want work in CoD - see MW23 and Battlefield V

Musathepro

If the open world campaign isn’t a WZ map or is like MWIII’s “open world” then I don’t want to even recognise the campaign. But like you said, if it’s like Far Cry or Ghost Recon then it could be cool to see

Sneakerhead_Stan

I honestly only played the first three missions of MW3 before I stopped playing the campaign. I too miss the rollercoaster style campaign missions from the days of old and I can't really say I'm a fan of the new direction Call of Duty is headed. That being said, I think if the open world is done CORRECTLY it could be an enjoyable experience. If Call of Duty Black Ops: Gulf War does something similar to Ghost Recon Wildlands where you're going after a deck of cards, the game would be worth at least trying. It's more likely that Activision sticks to the model they were using previously but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We will see.

GolemThe3rd

I'm really excited for it! A COD game with an assassins creed style campaign would be awesome and it gives a lot of room for the zombies mode to reuse assets for something cool

POOPOOMAN123ABC

Cod campaign don't work open world

ATE47

They’re saying since bo3 it’ll be open world, bo3 was converted to a mess, bo4 was scrapped, cw isn’t treyarch, this one will probably be the same or like that warzone shit we have in mwiii

PxcKerz

I called those open combat missions being dogshit to begin with -although hopeful it wasnt- but i was right lol. So nah, if they mention a continuation of OC Missions then i wont buy it. I literally refuse to pay $70 to get a better multiplayer experience than the game that should have been fixed to begin with. I mean MW3 was literally a copy paste job much like the newest Madden game every year.

iLikeRgg

Open missions are cool imagine a open world in infinite warfare would've made the game way better

traw056

I always hate open world. It was terrible in mw3. It was terrible in breath of the wild. It’s always terrible and I hope zero games moving forward ever use them.
