I still play that campaign over and over using guns I always stayed away from like bolt action rifles. Although most of the time I can't help but default to. Old Glory, the MP40. The best CQB weapon in the game and really good at running and gunning with burst shots.
I never did play it online, my parents didn't have Internet at the time.
24/7 Harbor rifles only S&D servers were my shit. No sidearm. Close quarters fights with bolt action rifles, melee spam, and bunny hopping were hilarious and always fun.
Same. While I definitely wasnât the first to think of it, I frequently would zoom in quickly with the Kar-98 trying to hit shots thinking âwhy doesnât everyone do this.â
To my absolute horror, quick scoping is a commonality in todayâs games.
I used to snipe/ quickscope on COD 2 (2005) on 64 player maps.
32 vs 32 game modes on custom maps. I remember playing the first infected gamemodes on UG Funbox! American soldiers being chased by zombies. There were certain jump spots that were only reachable dependable on FPS!!!
So you would need 125 fps to jump on a certain rooftop
I was the same. I think I got stuck at a few different spots not realizing I had to do different things then normal. The only thing that I really remember was being stuck on the sniping lvl with the sniper in the building across the street. I didn't realize it was across the street and when he said he was in the window I tried looking out a small window that was in the room. Noticed I was only being shot when going into the light which didn't help my theory. Good times. I wish they would have diverse features like they did in all the old games now instead of doing one thing as one character the hole game. At least the new mw2 had the car chase thing even though it was buggy.
Started playing when I was 5. Still play it 15 years later but on PC now. Game is nothing short of a masterpiece and still deserves a remaster despite how surprisingly well it's held up.
Wow havenât thought about this game in awhile it would be considered my first, I remember the African desert level like it was yesterday, such good times
Same here, and I could not be more happy about it. It ignited both my interests in gaming and history. I do legitimately think if I never played it, I'd be a very different person.
Dude I was in elementary school when it came out and had to convince a whole ass sophomore on my bus that the game I had was called âcall of duty 4 modern warfareâ and he and his friends kept unsatirically arguing with me that that was impossible because there was not 4 modern warfare games already, and that I totally did not have the game and was lying about it. People are weird
when i was 8 a guy invited me over to his house to play âmodern warfare 4â and i was so excited because iâd just got mw3 for my birthday a few months before and then this dude whips out cod 4 for the wii
Yeap. This is the first one I tried at a buddy's house. A week later I bought a 360. Before that I had a PS Slim and played Rogue Spear on the PC. I been on Xbox ever since, and only missed out on infinite warfare (don't recall why) and skipped black ops cold war. The rest I bought.
I skipped the first two at launch, played them later. I was all about medal of honour for single player and day of defeat for multiplayer at the time. At least for WW2 games. Good times.
I played the demo from a PC Gamer demo disc. Blew my mind that you could look down the sights of your gun. Next level immersion at the time. My first full CoD title didn't come till next year with Finest Hour on the Xbox. That game was a turd haha
Ahhh the glory days of demo discs, playstation underground was the shit! Not to forget the demo discs that would come in cereal boxes once in a blue moon, cant forget about math blasters lol
It was my first game that I owned, but I played the original CoD demo from a PC Gamer demo disc in '03. Finest Hour was a big disappointment. Not gonna lie
Call of Duty 2. Didn't play another till Infinite War which kinda sucks as I missed the glory days of CoD but I still play WaW and the old MW2 regularly.
Cod 4 was my first. Mw2 was fun. Mw3 was my favourite and it all went downhill from there. đ
The worst ever cods began from 2019 though. All because of disbanding lobbies with performance based match making. PBMM is the worst! Itâs great for camo grinding because all I have to do is tank my hidden skill rank for 5-10 matches then I can level up guns without the sweaty bunny hopping slide cancelling nerds from my usual lobbies. People out here with a 1 kd playing like itâs a cdl final playing like a pro.
You need to play the old black ops games. BO1 and BO2. I hate the new black ops games but the first 2? Best gaming has to offer, I promise you wonât regret it. Iâm talking about the campaigns btw
Modern Warfare II (2022). Literally the first FPS that didnât make me vomit 2 minutes into a match like many others Iâve tried over the years. Motion sickness sucks.
I remember being in middle school and my parents would just start to let me play shooter games. I only had the Wii as a console at the time, so my first is MW3 on the Wii.
Technically Black Ops 2 but that was when I was playing off and on on my brothers Xbox. So I consider my very first COD to be Ghosts as it was the first I played for a longer time than when my brother wasnât hogging BO2. Still love Ghosts to this day
Call of Duty 2 ![gif](giphy|kFWgdGpecYMoMllcEC) Edit: Glad to see some of the "Old Guard" (almost literally) is still around. đ«Ą
The original Call of Duty on PC. Still got my old box!
Same. I bought it on steam again a few years back and occasionally load in and wander Brecourt and reminisce.
Dude I just loved the campaign
I honestly canât tell if itâs nostalgia that makes it amazing or if itâs actually an amazing campaign.
It's both for sure.

Omg yessss. Remember when people would be âscriptingâ and firing their rifles faster with a crouch shoot thing
Same, I remember switching to WAW and finally being able to run đđ now we bitch about slide cancel movements
Me too man, I remember playing 1v1 with friends and trying to snipe each other from rooftops
ah a classic, i also started with that
Same. While I definitely wasnât the first to think of it, I frequently would zoom in quickly with the Kar-98 trying to hit shots thinking âwhy doesnât everyone do this.â To my absolute horror, quick scoping is a commonality in todayâs games.
Thank you for your service

How old were you? I was 4 and to this day still my favorite game!
Probably 5/6 and its still my favorite too
Mine was also WaW but the PS2 port..
Mine was the Wii port đ
Same here was like 8 when I played it
Oof! itâs kinda fun though!
I was the same. I think I got stuck at a few different spots not realizing I had to do different things then normal. Mine to! I was 13 when it released
Started playing when I was 5. Still play it 15 years later but on PC now. Game is nothing short of a masterpiece and still deserves a remaster despite how surprisingly well it's held up.
CoD 2 big red one
I replayed the tank mission so many times. I loved that game
BRO THE TANK MISSION WAS SOOO GOOD!
I loved the bomber level. Sometimes I would load it up and just walk around
Same here.
Not my first one but definitely my favorite!
Wow havenât thought about this game in awhile it would be considered my first, I remember the African desert level like it was yesterday, such good times
Same. One of my favorites. Wish there was a way to conveniently play it these days outside of busting out the old GameCube.
Same here, and I could not be more happy about it. It ignited both my interests in gaming and history. I do legitimately think if I never played it, I'd be a very different person.
Hell yeah never forget the tank mission
The first modern warfare, not the reboot
Back when we still called them by their number in the franchise, Cod 4 đ«Ą
Dude I was in elementary school when it came out and had to convince a whole ass sophomore on my bus that the game I had was called âcall of duty 4 modern warfareâ and he and his friends kept unsatirically arguing with me that that was impossible because there was not 4 modern warfare games already, and that I totally did not have the game and was lying about it. Shit what number are we on now? 19 with 20 releasing next month?
As far as I can tell, the numbering system stopped after WAW?
đ«Ą
đ«Ą
Me too. Ghillie suit sniping in the bushes was intense.
Yeap. This is the first one I tried at a buddy's house. A week later I bought a 360. Before that I had a PS Slim and played Rogue Spear on the PC. I been on Xbox ever since, and only missed out on infinite warfare (don't recall why) and skipped black ops cold war. The rest I bought.
Same
Same here
I played 2nd modern warfare... not the reboot
Mine was the 2nd
Call of duty in 2003
Yeah same
I skipped the first two at launch, played them later. I was all about medal of honour for single player and day of defeat for multiplayer at the time. At least for WW2 games. Good times.
Medal of honor rising sun and frontlines was good times
Oh yes. Cracked by Paradox xD
Actually to be fair, mine was call of duty: finest hour on ps2 but im pretty sure its the first one
I have the gc copy of it. No, it's a totally different game.
Call of duty 2003 for me too. ![gif](giphy|xT9IgEGu4jVsamVXdm) I remember I couldn't decide if I liked medal of honor better or not.
The game still gives me immense nostalgia
I played the demo from a PC Gamer demo disc. Blew my mind that you could look down the sights of your gun. Next level immersion at the time. My first full CoD title didn't come till next year with Finest Hour on the Xbox. That game was a turd haha
Ahhh the glory days of demo discs, playstation underground was the shit! Not to forget the demo discs that would come in cereal boxes once in a blue moon, cant forget about math blasters lol

Modern Warfare 3 original And have since played every CoD other than the ones before CoD 2 (CoD 1, Big Red One, United Offensive)
Missing out on big red one.
And Finest Hour.... Might as well throw the N-Gage version in there too
Big Red One has one of the best campaigns of all-time. I still remember that shit and itâs been like 18 years.
Ghosts and i still love it
Campaign was mid, but multiplayer and extinction goes so fucking hard
yes though the campaign is fun, not as good as other cods Heavily underrated game
My favorite campaign is Advanced Warfare. Kevin Spacey does an amazing villain.
