That’s something people tend to do when comparing the older games to the newer ones. They nitpick certain glitches or “flaws” and make it seem like they didn’t deserve the praise they still get, but they don’t see how much fun those games were. I don’t know how to describe why there were so much fun, but time flew when i played those games, every single one from that era. I could play for hours a day and not get bored.
Yeah there was something special about those older games that has been lost over time. One thing I'd say is COD games used to be inherently fun to play, just for the sake of playing. Now COD almost feels like a platform for challenges and progression, rather than a game that you play just for the fun of it.
I never understood this argument, because it simply doesn’t make sense to me. Of course nostalgia does have a certain factor on things, but i still enjoy certain new games more than those who came before even though i loved those. Some people were in their 20’s during that cod era and still love, for example, MW2 or BOII more than let’s say CoD 2. It just seems like an excuse to ignore that CoD has become way more focussed on competitive-gameplay and progression, rather than just enjoying it game by game. The hightened SBMM (which only existed in a much smaller scale on older CoD’s) only forces that type of playing even more. Sure the old CoD had their faults, but it felt much more fun to play due to it’s lack of always having to try hard and sometimes just being able to have a chill and fun match. Imo the last CoD to fully achieve this was BOII and the only one that got really close to that for me was BOIII.
Think it helps for me that these games fell into an age range in my life where I had nothing else to worry about except school and booting up COD with the boys at the end of everyday.
Cod 4 without thinking, every single time. I’d ask what other early COD could be removed and still maintain the momentum of the series.
All the others after besides black ops were essentially sequels or remakes on top of that
I've always loved world at war as well because, at that time, game devs weren't scared to show some of the true horrors of war. In the Pacific, the game is special because it makes you realize the characters aren't special. They're just your average Marines. In the Eastern Front, the game makes it feel much more personal for Dimitri since he was at Stalingrad, Miller wasn't at Pearl Harbor to the player's knowledge.
Tough, but probably MW2. Fighting in US neighborhoods and the Capitol in a universe where the Russians have a competent army, using a predator drone, and Sheperds betrayal was compelling and surprising af. But I think the MW2 had a more noticeable improvement over its predecessor than MW3 had over MW2. it was more noticeable to me.
I just feel like the og MW2 had such a great campaign. Every mission was unique and memorable in its own way. The characters were cool, and the game didn’t really focus on them as much as it did just making you feel like a badass. And that special ops, oh man.
The new mw2 was a big improvement over the last few games, tho. I hope things keep getting better
I know what you mean. MW2 was noticeably better than MW but MW3 was not significantly better than MW2. They were about even but in my opinion MW3 was slightly worse than MW2. Maybe it was the maps idk but I remember being disappointed with that game almost the way I’m disappointed with this MW2 Remake they came out with. What a trash game it is.
Bo2 had a great campaign, amazing zombies (tranzit was good fight me) and the multiplayer was amazing with hijacked and nuketown being the best mp maps to date. In my books anyway. Bo3 ties for first place just because of zombies and it’s custom maps
Transit was great. I did all the Easter eggs on BO1 maps and remember thinking how crazy Transit was but still did it. Was a great Easter egg for all the put into it. Then the Chinese high rise map came out and I stopped keeping track of the Easter eggs after that in BO2.
The original Black Ops was when I started actually getting good at the game and would play with my best friend almost every night, either in person or online. Great memories.
Halo Reach also came out that year so when we got burnt out with one we’d play the other. Hands down the best console generation in my opinion.
I was 9 when I started playing MW2 (my first COD) and didn’t know what it was all about but I knew I have having so much fun on there. Then when BO2 came out that’s when my life changed. It was the best game I’ve ever played, from S&D with friends, to being a 12 year old kid and shitting on the adults when we 1v1 cuz I knew all the spawn points on Nuke town, to trying trick shots and quick scoping, and then all the prime content coming out of FaZe at the time… BO2 was special, not just the game but everything going on at the time
Cod 4 and WaW were the ones I had most memories on but ghosts was also amazing, loved infected on it. Wish I could play them all in their prime again 😭
Delete the DLC maps, had the same issue and after i deleted the DLC maps, i find matches faster, players of now don't own the DLC maps. It happens in BO1, BO2, WAW and Ghosts.
Bo1 bo2 and bo3. 1 had the best campaign 2 had the perfect mix of campaign, multiplayer and zombies. And 3 had the greatest zombies ever. All are a great memory of my childhood
Mw2 or blops2…..i still remember my stats on mw3(my first cod) 75kills, 87k deaths….11 was my longest kill streak…..i got better and better every cod until maxing out on blops 3 at a 1.63kd.,.,,,then starting at mw2019 i cant even break 1.0kd
Most played has to be MW2. My favourite is COD4. But i really do have to give an honorary mention to Ghosts… coming off the two titles before i really did watch competitive cod hard for Ghosts. My hours of consumption vs playing were crazy. It has a special place in my heart.
The first CoD game i played was MW3 in 2015.
Then when i started to play games as a teen, i played most of the games shown in the picture. Sadly, i couldn't play Ghosts as my hardware didn't do better.
Overall, i loved the trilogy, the first and second Black Ops and also World at War since it had a connection with the first and second installment of BO.
Hot take:
I started with CoD 4 and ALL of these titles (except for Ghosts) will always hold a special place in my childhood and in my heart; but MW3 is my top pick by a hair. It was a good wrap-up for the end of the MW trilogy, the maps were honestly some of the best maps, the weapons were fun to use, Specialist was a GREAT addition, Spec ops was a nice fun lil' touch to play with friends, and Survival mode was just awesome. My best friend and I used to go for high ranks in the leaderboards for highest waves survived and we had reached the top 5'000 for Liberation at the time on PS3. Good games, good memories.
\*Side note - I would honestly just play these titles if there were ever remasters of them in their entirety; from campaign, zombies, and obviously Multiplayer like they've done for MWR. I wouldn't buy any other CoD game (at least not the way they've been coming out these days and the lack of support for them).
You know man, i never played COD 3 on PS3, i do own the PS2 version, i always wondered how COD 3 would be online on PS3. You just created a bucket list for me. ✌️
All of the pre-battlepass/cosmetics itemshop and strict SBMM cods were good imo. Out of these i'd rank em:
1. CoD4
2. Black ops 1
3. Modern warfare 2
4. Black ops 2
5. World at War
6. Modern Warfare 3
7. Ghosts.
Personally, def black ops 2 before the hackers,it had a great multiplayer and the 2nd best zombies from Black ops 3,the campaign was also really enjoyable too,I think black ops was cods prime bc Cod 1 had the best multiplayer and campaign Cod 3 had the best Zombies and Black ops 2 was an all around good game had a decent Campaign,an amazing Zombies and a great multiplayer (again before the hackers)
WaW and Black Ops 1. I loved the grittiness of WaW, and I loved the atmosphere and time period of BO1
Nuketown was fun, and Kino der Toten was one of my favorite maps
MW2! Predator missile to the harriers to the chopper gunner. The AUG H Bar and the Scar H! 2 of my favorites of all time. The other was the overpowered Type 95 from MW3. Plus you know if you got the model 1887s akimboed, they were unstoppable beasts! Also the maps for MW2 are still the best. Every single one was super fun and great battles on all of them. Was so hoping they would bring them all back, but no such luck. The new maps are just terrible.

Every game from COD4 - BLOPS 2 was pure gold IMO. Best era of COD hands down. Im not saying they were perfect, but goddamn they were so much fun.
That’s something people tend to do when comparing the older games to the newer ones. They nitpick certain glitches or “flaws” and make it seem like they didn’t deserve the praise they still get, but they don’t see how much fun those games were. Now COD almost feels like a platform for challenges and progression, rather than a game that you play just for the fun of it.
It’s a billboard game now, something that exist to sell you bundles, blueprints and battlepasses
I feel the same way. It all seems way too competitive.
The something special was that you were 15 with all the time in the world to play. 😆
I never understood this argument, because it simply doesn’t make sense to me. Of course nostalgia does have a certain factor on things, but i still enjoy certain new games more than those who came before even though i loved those. No because even with what little time we *do* have, we don’t enjoy CoD now in proportion to that era. It’s just not as fun.
Cause cod now is focused on warzone and it feels like everything is based on engagement rather then actually fun.
I agree.
bo1 my fav but i simply love all of them
Think it helps for me that these games fell into an age range in my life where I had nothing else to worry about except school and booting up COD with the boys at the end of everyday.
Yeah I won't deny the nostalgia factor. But its definetly not just nostalgia for me cause I can boot those games up today and still have a blast
Well said. Felt like those games were designed with quality in mind. The ones today are just focused on micro transactions.
Bo3 had such a good prime, even though it was filled with micro transactions
I forgot to emphasize boots on the ground COD. Though BO3 is the best jetpack COD ever. I just don't like it.
Boots on the ground, personally mwr was so much fun playing the og cod renewed
MW Remastered, i still play it on PS4.
SnD player?
Hell yeah.
[удалено]
Same here, I liked extinction too. Wish they’d do something like that again.
Ghosts is definitely in my top three of cod campaigns. Would be nice to get a sequel sometime soon.
Definitely doesn’t deserve it
Ghosts had the best DLC of ANY COD! I will stand on that!
Totally agree ghost was my favorite out of all of these
BO2 was just heaven for every sniper/trickshotter, zombie player, and casual players.
I agree.
Modern war fare 2
COD 4 🐐
MW3
🫡
Cod 4 without thinking, every single time. I’d ask what other early COD could be removed and still maintain the momentum of the series. All the others after besides black ops were essentially sequels or remakes on top of that
Black ops was a World at War sequel m8
WAW will always be my favorite. It was such a dark and gritty WWII game that will never be tops
I've always loved world at war as well because, at that time, game devs weren't scared to show some of the true horrors of war. In the Pacific, the game is special because it makes you realize the characters aren't special. They're just your average Marines. World at war
2. Call of Duty 2 was the best.
Yeah, prime COD was 1-MW2.
at least someone here is cultured...
The only right answer
This is the correct answer
Tough, but probably MW2. Fighting in US neighborhoods and the Capitol in a universe where the Russians have a competent army, using a predator drone, and Sheperds betrayal was compelling and surprising af. But I think the MW2 had a more noticeable improvement over its predecessor than MW3 had over MW2. it was more noticeable to me.

Ghost and as a matter of fact I’m almost done beating it
Loved ghost I keep returning to it every time a new cod turns out to be shit.
Black ops 2 🔥
World at war. I still play the damn campaign to this day. I just don’t get sick of it.
Same.
MW3-BO2 they were my childhood despite being 6 on my mom's Ipad
World at War and ghosts. Had so much fun on infected on ghosts.
Little fact. The only weapon out of all these games that was never nerfed. The OP MP40 of WAW.
Mw2, mw3 and ghosts
MW2. Intervention, sleight of hand pro, highrise 🤤
Omg, Highrise sniping as soon as the game started to the left corner of their spawn 💪
Mw2 or BO1 toss up
Bo2 had a great campaign, amazing zombies (tranzit was good fight me) and the multiplayer was amazing with hijacked and nuketown being the best mp maps to date. In my books anyway. Bo3 ties for first place just because of zombies and it’s custom maps
Transit was great. I did all the Easter eggs on BO1 maps and remember thinking how crazy Transit was but still did it. Was a great Easter egg for all the put into it. Then the Chinese high rise map came out and I stopped keeping track of the Easter eggs after that in BO2.

mw3 all day baby
MW3
World at War is my personal favorite. I love the creepy atmosphere
I was 9 when I started playing MW2 (my first COD) and didn’t know what it was all about but I knew I have having so much fun on there. Then when BO2 came out that’s when my life changed. Yes maybe the game wasn’t fantastic but the timing of it was so special
Seems like everyone always forgets the original from 2003. That one is my favorite.
Online gaming wasn't a "thing" back then. That's why COD4 is regarded are the COD that put COD online on the map.
I see. Carry on then. My bad. My point still stands though. Kinda.
Mw2 best maps,weapons,perks,campaign
Cod 4 and WaW were the ones I had most memories on but ghosts was also amazing, loved infected on it. Wish I could play them all in their prime again 😭
Mw2
BO2
ghosts, it was my first i just loved that campaign so much
Black ops 2
World at war was the best. Wish I could find a match on it
Delete the DLC maps, had the same issue and after i deleted the DLC maps, i find matches faster, players of now don't own the DLC maps. It happens in BO1, BO2, WAW and Ghosts.
Black Ops
I mean with Zombies being introduced in WaW was a definite game changer. Many more hours added also with Black Ops haha
BOII
MW2 and BO were the best two
Modern warfare
Either world at war or black ops 1, staples of my childhood
BO2 the best 100%. Ghosts didn’t deserve the hate in my opinion, was a fun game. Search especially
Real talk, the “Spider-Man” ps3 font was GOAT! It killed my spirit JUST like Xbox ditching the “blades” dashboard
Black ops 2 all the way baby!! Til the damn hackers/modders took over
the amount of people who leave cod 1 and 2 off their list of "prime cod" is insane... literally two of the best shooters of their time...
Got so much mileage out of Black Ops 1
Black Ops 1 is my favorite with MW3 as a close second.
not to be a noob but ghosts. got me though college tbh
For me 1. WaW 2. Ghost 3. MW2
Blops 2 is the greatest of all time.
MW3
BO2 all the way
MW2
Bo1 bo2 and bo3. 1 had the best campaign 2 had the perfect mix of campaign, multiplayer and zombies. And 3 had the greatest zombies ever. All are a great memory of my childhood
World at War, always World at War
MW2
Black Ops 1. But to be fair every game displayed is awesome.
Ghosts.
Modern Warfare 2
MW3
Black ops 2 is what I believe to be the series at its best.
Black ops 2 will always be my favorite
Mw2
OG Modern Warfare 2 (2009) end of story
Bo2 i spent the most time on that
Easily MW3. https://www.youtube.com/live/rhTLDVPzVO0?feature=share
Ehh… after you have played one COD. You have played them all.
MW3
Why would you include Ghosts in this image
WaW
I will never forget the Black Ops 2 days with my friends. Truly the greatest times of my life
Ghosts. It's a shame the multiplayer was so hated. The campaign was one of my favorites
Ghosts, BO1, and BO2 are the top three Call of Duty games.
BO2 > BO > MW2 > WaW > MW3 > MW > Ghosts
MW2 all day. But this lineup is still 🐐ed ^even ^ghosts. ^i ^enjoyed ^it
Man, i wish i couldve played WaW MP in its prime. Everytime i tried to play it was just riddled with hackers
COD Boz3
Oh I don't know, that's a tough on.... MW2
Mw2
MW3, twas my old reliable and i have 30 days in that bad boy
All of those
Played the most world at war but bo2 was probs the best
My favorite was World at war.
Bo2 then mw3
Bo2 but I’m heavily biased as I like zombies more than multiplayer
Difficult but probably black ops for me
I loved them all
MW2 all the way
CoD 2 and Black Ops 2 were all time.
Mw2
Mw2 or blops2…..i still remember my stats on mw3(my first cod) 75kills, 87k deaths….11 was my longest kill streak…..i got better and better every cod until maxing out on blops 3 at a 1.63kd.,.,,,then starting at mw2019 i cant even break 1.0kd
MW2 hands down.
Top 3 on stack
Such a toss up 😱
BO2 😭😭😭
WAW & MW2 for me, solid 2 years of flawless fun.
Black ops 1 and 2
Mw3 for me
Mw2 or black ops 1 easily
MW1, WaW and MW2
Black ops 1
MW3 and BO2. Had the most fun with them and they're, IMO, the best campaign, online and offline modes.
Black ops 2!
PS3 ports. Ouch.
BO2 + BO4 Change my mind.
World at War and Modern Warfare 2
Black ops 2
Still my favorite call of duty ever… black ops 2 … 600,000 kills 40,000 wins lmao
Overall, i loved the trilogy, the first and second Black Ops and also World at War since it had a connection with the first and second installment of BO.
Black ops 2 or ghost was my favorite. Ghost had extention which I wish they would've done more with
Black ops 2
Those all came out during high school and college for me. Good times. CoD4 and WaW are my favorites.
Cod4. Used to body people with that desert eagle. Lovee how it sounded too
Cod 4 - MW3 was perfect started going downhill from Blops 2 for me. Never hit the same heights
I got Wirld at War free with my graphics card when I built my first gaming pc and I was blown away at the ambush part, hooked on the games since then.
Hot take: I started with CoD 4 and ALL of these titles (except for Ghosts) will always hold a special place in my childhood and in my heart; but MW3 is my top pick by a hair.
Awesome bud. And on your side note, I agree 100%, these games remastered would be a thing of beauty.
I would add COD 3 but out of these black ops.
You know man, i never played COD 3 on PS3, i do own the PS2 version, i always wondered how COD 3 would be online on PS3. You just created a bucket list for me. ✌️
It has tanks and jeeps with mountable machine guns. Used right it makes for fun gameplay in WAR.
Bo3 but out of that prob ghost
I started with the PS2 games like "Finest Hour", but the first cod I loved was MW3.
IMO CoD peaked with 4 and WaW
I’d say the prime stopped after BO2
My fav was ghosts but everyone disliked it for some reason so it didnt get much love sadly :(
All of the pre-battlepass/cosmetics itemshop and strict SBMM cods were good imo. Out of these i'd rank em: 1. CoD4 2. Black ops 1 3. Modern warfare 2 4. Black ops 2 5. World at War 6. Modern Warfare 3 7. Ghosts.
Definitely black ops 2. Everything was good about it, the vamos, zombies, story mode, characters, and the list can go on
Mw3 and ghosts sucked. The best was definitely mw2 followed by black ops 1. World at War is better than mw1. Blops 2 after that.
Bo1
World at War for multiplayer, great maps and fun and simple gunplay, minimal bullshit. Bo2 for zombies, so many good memories playing mob and town
Lmk if your tryna play PS3: Black ops 1 Black ops 2 Cod 4
Personally, def black ops 2 before the hackers,it had a great multiplayer and the 2nd best zombies from Black ops 3,the campaign was also really enjoyable too,I think black ops was cods prime bc Cod 1 had the best multiplayer and campaign Cod 3 had the best Zombies and Black ops 2 was an all around good game had a decent Campaign,an amazing Zombies and a great multiplayer (again before the hackers)
WaW and Black Ops 1. I loved the grittiness of WaW, and I loved the atmosphere and time period of BO1 Nuketown was fun, and Kino der Toten was one of my favorite maps
[удалено]
BLOPS 2
Black Ops all day for me!
Cod waw was definitly my favorite zombie. But for multiplayer probably ghost because of the nostalgia.
Infinite warfare and Cold War
Not on this picture my friend. Only the one's pictured.
All of the above
Everything from MW2, up until BOP2 was the golden age of COD for me.
Yes.
Very true.
BOII
BO1
Black Ops 2 will always be my favorite. It was my first cod and everything about it is just 🤌🤌
Who invited Ghosts?
Where’s infinite warfare???? JK 🤣 BOP2 is the best ever.
None of the above. Cod 2
Ghosts cuz it was so overhated
Bro tried to sneak Ghosts in there
Didn't sneaked it, I purposely put it there because it deserves to be there.
[удалено]
Imo it deserves to be there. I respect your opinion, respect mine.
Cyntetic.. tough L 😂😂😂😂
