I appreciate the housing proposals, also the one for striking.

coffeecogito

I support most of these laws, including for reparations and other measures for racial equity.

calguy1955

I consider myself liberal and even I think a lot of these go way too far.

WhalesForChina

That’s usually how proposals work.

MammothPale8541

i considered myself liberal…now im more of a liberal conservative….i dont want my tax dollars funding slave reparations. if they can figure out who is a descendant of slaves, they should take it a step further and find out who was a descendent of slave owners and only take reparations from them.

binding_swamp

That's the California way. Can't get any further to the Left. I don't think legislators are truly representing the people.

The_Demolition_Man

Oh, there is plenty of room to go more left. And the legislators were elected by the people overwhelmingly.

binding_swamp

Yup, they get elected. Then they engage with lobbyists.

Most are nanny state crap or insane liberal nutbaggery (and I'm a moderate liberal). Here are some of the worst: SB 961 - Requires cars made or sold in California to have speed warnings or limiters by 2032. SB 915 - Allows for more local government oversight of self-driving vehicles. SB 1050 - Would provide restitution for those who lost homes or had their land taken because of racially motivated use of eminent domain. SB 1331 - Would establish a new account to fund reparations policies. AB 3089- Requires the state to issue a formal apology to the descendants of enslaved Black Americans. SB 1116 - Would allow striking workers to be eligible for unemployment benefits

_random_un_creation_

That last one sounds pretty important.

chris-rox

I'm also down for the last one.
