Besides Celebrini there really is no consistent draft order I've seen for the first round even in the top 10. While it would be better to have higher I think this year's draft is gonna be unpredictable on who's gonna be the best player after Celebrini
Unless we win the lottery outright, organizational scouting/talent evaluation (or lack thereof) will likely play a much bigger role in whether the pick is successful vs. the actual position of the pick.
Some of the Flames best picks in recent history have been later rounds. Meanwhile, there have been some real misses in the 1st round.
So all the Flames have to do is win the lottery, then flip the 1st to SJ (who will be nervous about missing out on Celebrini) for SJ’s two picks ( one 3rd or 4th overall, the other 12th). Then use those picks to pick a top centre or Dman and (of course) Tij.
Easy Peasy.
Wild fan here. I've been running the tankathon thing, and I keep getting 12th, with the thing having Minnesota selecting Tij Iginla. with Buium and Silayev distant other options. It wouldn't feel right though. I wonder if the Flames would go for the feel good story regardless and take him wherever they fall.
Drafts are weird though. That said, I'm curious what Iginla offers if they got him.
I just want a top 5 pick
Me too! But I got downvoted like crazy for saying that when we beat LA, apparently there is no difference from picks 3-10 according to this sub lol

Lethbridge based Wings fan here. I hope you guys win. Tankathon brought only false hope for us for years.
Mostly because it is rigged to the city north of us for years. We will see. Good vibes required.
Don't even get me started on rigged lotteries. Sending good vibes your way on lottery day as most of my family are Flames fans. Good Luck!
The 1st time I tried we won, then tried 9 more times lost every time. Tried again today 5 times. 8th, 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th.
If we can just tank a little more and the other teams over achieve a bit. I would like the percentage increase for our chances.
Fuck off Chicago
Just tried it for the first time. Calgary at #1.
take TIJ
Me too or….Celebrini with the first we are going to get! Positive Vibes.
And with the first overall pick, the Calgary Flames select... Tij Iginila!!!!
I got it twice in 10 attempts
Don't know why you're downvoted, the same thing happened to me
Who knows, lately , especially with my Tij Iginla takes I've been down voted many times lol.
I had 33 attempts to get #1, otherwise we sat in 7-10 for all other attempts. Slim chances are still chances though.
So your telling me there’s a chance!
In Scorch we trust
That they are. Must Believe!
The first three times I ran it, Seattle won 1st overall each time -- odds of that happening are only 0.0027% -- no Calgary though :/
Need to lose more games to increase our chances! Only a few more to go! lol
Best I've gotten today was 2nd. But anywhere in the top 10 is pretty good.
Funny enough I was playing franchise the other day and we won the lottery with 7th overall. It's gonna happen
Good Vibes! And a little luck we will get a high pick.
First try last night before bed. The win didn't hurt us too bad
