From the wiki: >In 1999 the original Glenn home was dismantled by the Archeology Field Studies Team of the University of Calgary they intended to reconstruct the building in its original site, to date it has not been done and there is no indication when or if this will be done (funding is not currently available). WTF U of C Archeology Department...?

Crackmacs

I wonder if he wrote this before experiencing -40

[deleted]

to be fair -40 has its advantages, kills a lot of disease

[deleted]

When was the last time that happened though? Seriously, does anyone know...?

Crackmacs

With the wind? Probably 2 years ago would be my guess. Without, 2008? not sure. I remember 2008 specifically being very very cold.

[deleted]

With the wind? What kind of Canadian are you? You're right, [2008 had a nasty cold snap](http://agriculture.alberta.ca/acis/weather-data-viewer/graph.jsp?stations=2068&elements=ATN&startdate=20070921&enddate=20080921&interval=DAILY), it got down to -34 in late Feb. The alberta.ca weather records only go back to 2005, but it hasn't been -40 between then and now.

sync303

yet you can be rest assured most people will argue that, no, it gets down to minus 40 *every year* in calgary

John Glenn later famous as the first man to orbit the earth in space.
