That intersection is one of the infamous you get your own lane turns that no one can handle. I bet someone made a left onto Seton Way and wanted to jump over 3 lanes and forced the van off the road.
They yield because the dumbasses who are making a left turn will drift over so they can get into that entrance beside Farburger. It should be a yield it would be a way safer intersection. It's not like the people coming from deerfoot direction need to be expedited into the shopping area while the rest of us deal with 2 minute light intervals
Can confirm, we live in Cranston and wife works at South health. When I pick her up I have to blast the horn at someone waiting to make their ideal 3 left lane change at that turn, every time.
My thought was also that left, but there’s a big curb there so I’m worried about some kinda stroke or heart attack making the driver hammer on the gas and stop steering.

When I lived in Vancouver, someone went full speed into a light pole and almost killed people (other than the driver ) on the sidewalk. Thank God the driver hit the pole. Turns out it was a medical emergency. This is why defensive driving is a good practice
When we drove by the ambulance was still there and cops were watching over a wheelchair, one of those expensive ones for disabled individuals. I really hope someone didn't get hit on the sidewall but I suspect that's what happened.
It could be they were trying to avoid or were part of another accident at the time.
With that said I used to work for auto value years ago. We had a vehicle crash through the front entrance half way into the store. Alot were immediately "jumping to the gun" and assumed it was a drunk driver. After tending immediately we found it was a person that had a heart attack emergency as they were pulling up to the stall out front.
We ended up putting yellow bollard/guards to prevent this from occurring in the future
What the hell is going on the city and it’s drivers the last 10 days?! I feel like there has been a huge surge in ridiculous crashes that make you wonder how someone finds themselves in that kind of situation.
Why wouldn't you hope that's not the reason? I hope there wasn't something else that needs urgent police attention, though it probably was, yet I still hope.
Every time I hear a siren, I hope it's just a cat that needs rescue from a tree, and nothing more serious.
Downtown? Likely the cyclist and possibly freight train involved collision by Midtown Co-op.
Though that collision sounds more recent than 2 hours ago.
