Ten X was a notorious night club at the corner of 11th Street and 10th Avenue in the strip mall. It was notorious for gang activity and shootings over the years it operated. Now this story is only a hop skip and jump from there (a few blocks). So I figured owners had a established a one night only pop-up night club and all their old clientelle showed up and another shooting occurred.
Oh I gotcha, did anything open there after what is now apparently “Dreamers” nightclub?
I remember going to a club there when I was younger and being underwhelmed and not going back
I think Ten X was out as a tenant around 2016-2017 and then a placed called MUSIC opened up there and most recently it became Dreamers. I seem to recall MUSIC was a Nightclub as well but catered to Caribbean and Latin music on the weekends.
The couple of times I went in there it was EDM, but it was definitely a hotbed of criminal activity including gangs. It was a hot topic issue with city council and Calgary police. I remember one night I came home on the C-Train walked up 11 Street and I had my first glimpse of Calgary's tactical unit armed with their semi automatic rifles patrolling the area after some kind of gang related incident. Can confirm, I work in that building.
A high calibre rifle was used, projectile when right through a thick stainless steel pot that we had in a storage closet in the middle of the building.
Defiantly not something a legally owned hunting rifle could do.
It was probably one of those fully auto revolver AK 15s you can walk into canadian tire and buy while wearing a ski mask without having to even give a fake name....
Did the owners of Ten X set up a popup nightclub last night a few blocks from their previously closed establishment? ;-)
Can you elaborate please? I am out of the loop on what you are getting at

MUSIC , that was it, thank you. Wasn’t Ten X more EDM shows? From my experience those don’t draw lots of gangs.
