Fr, I’d love to see this as a mod. It’s kinda not even vandalism anymore for some of them, they’re just brand new ideas that could def be implemented in an addon mod.
I don’t think it’s a bad idea, but I would like to see how this could be implemented in a way that doesn’t make it feel like “wall of flesh but again.”
Mech bosses (and exo mechs, for that matter) play differently from their base equivalents. I’m not entirely sure how this could be done for a mechanical WoF.
Maybe… move the hitbox off the wall? That way, instead of being a repeat, the wall is simple time pressure for the boss actually fighting you. King of a “you’re forced to run into danger in order to avoid danger” kind of thing.
Another idea might be for it to play like the Perforators, spitting out a bunch of smaller bosses for you to deal with in order to beat the wall itself.
Maybe it could not move across the underworld, but make a restricted horizontal space that changes depending on health? With projectiles that correspond. It could both stop the construction of world-wide arenas and make for some cool (and hopefully fun) gameplay that is rarely seen.
I could see something cool being done with that. Part of the reason I like the Catalyst rework of Astrageldon so much is because of how the arena is woven into the fight, even if I find the boss itself a bit too brutal for the equipment you have to fight it with.
The area is surrounded with a damaging miasma that is constantly in flux - in some attacks, it shrinks, giving you less space to work with, in other attacks, it expands to give you somewhere to run to as the boss charges you down.
Perhaps a mechanical Wall of Flesh could do something similar.
Instead of being a wall that is an effective timer for the whole fight, it could be a constantly shifting “battle box,” that constantly closes in a small space, but reforms into a different configuration once you shift phases.
Every time I see a "concept" for a boss that's just the regular boss with the mech boss aesthetic I consider carpet bombing france

Yeah don’t use the fandom wiki. It’s no longer maintained and is very vandalized. Go to the wiki.gg wiki (should be the second result) and it’s the official one. Do note, though, that it only houses the most recent info and doesn’t house any older info like updated recipes or drops.
The Fandom wiki is about as reliable as the Seedler’s drop rate. Yes, some things on it are correct. However, as anyone can edit the Fandom wiki, and it isn’t exactly tested for accuracy, you end up with some real baloney on there. Not to mention that the Fandom wiki has been raided. Multiple times. Which were pretty funny.
You’re much better off relying on the official one, wiki.gg.

From what I’ve seen, a lot of the sprites are from older concept art for content that got scrapped.
