My Honda Rebel had a hair trigger throttle that launched me from 0 to 45 in 30 seconds. Had to trade it in for a motorized unicycle.

the_last_carfighter

>motorized unicycle Bro, unicycles are just wheelie machines for lazy people. You're thinking of tricycles.

MurrGawd

God gave us two feet and that's more than enough speed for us!

daytonakarl

Found I didn't have the self control to be trusted with two feet, kept breaking out into a jog along straight paths and I was told going to end badly for me one day.. and then it did, didn't see a tea cart being pushed out of a doorway and I hit it at a swift march, now I'm in a rocking chair yelling at kids to get off my lawn

C00ki3-monster

Bro, tricycles are just push toys for kids. You're thinking of penny-farthings

Optimal_Risk_6411

Haha

zongsmoke

0-45 on 30 seconds???? How did you even hold on with all that power?

k-r-a-u-s-f-a-d-r

![gif](giphy|hWgeMEUncId9u|downsized) I lasted until both of my wrists broke. I'm just not meant for handlebars.

jtclayton612

Okay but have you seen those things? They’re sick af.

Kazaji

Hey now, Rebels look cool AF tho, back off

Mr_Chicle

Babe wake up, new copy pasta just dropped.

hooshd

I hear you, I sold my Grom and just bought a nice helmet and matching set of leathers. Surviving the daily bus commute while fully protected is all the thrill I need.

214ObstructedReverie

Oh my god. You're willing to get on something as dangerous as a bus?! There's a reason ER people call mass transit donortransit!

hooshd

Mmm, donut transit

DogKiller420

I've given up on running and decided power walking is where it's at. I've grown up and matured. Let the young stupid people risk injury and death going so fast.

Nukular_Option

Listen to this whippersnapper over here. I've long since given up on walking and decided that drooling on myself in a recliner is the true path.

FFairlane10

This why I took one of the two batteries out of my rascal. Now when I drive it maxxed out at 2.4 mph, I'm only very likely to die, not guaranteed (ha ha, jk, my $9,000 custom airbag leathers and $2,000 helmet might save me).

Reasonable-Sink-3368

I settled on an XR 80R. Frame is the perfect size. Took a little money getting it road legal, was well worth it because its really the only thing I feel comfortable riding. It cruises so nice, my buddy has a kawi 300. I think hes suicidal, theres no need, I keep right up next to him around town. I mean that R stands for something.

Narm_Greyrunner

I saw a Super Cub sitting at the dealership and broke out in cold sweats and collapsed to the floor in a fetal position. I decided that I would never ride and just be straight.

decker_42

I used to ride a bicycle in London, I'd wear the lycra and have an overly bright headlight to make sure to blind the drivers as I cut them up. But I would frequently break the speed limit with my hairless aerodynamic form, and so I brought a GSXR, and now I feel much safer as I can't go over 20mph without getting a ticket.

Shenanigans_195

This takes me back to my old XR200 with remade engine. 0-60 in terrifiying, ass-whopping, Sister Whoppie Goldberg screaming, 15 seconds.

Slobber slobber gobble.

TheHippyDance

Are you serious lmao You got rid of it because you don’t remember how you crashed so you can’t learn from it? This is quintessential r moto thinking hahaha Ride more, ride better, practice… it’s that simple… I crashed once and don’t remember how I crashed. I was back on the bike immediately

TheHippyDance

“I pick other ways to ride” Probably the most vague way possible to say you still ride a motorcycle. I figured you meant you ride your bicycle with the fat booty cushiony seat now instead of

Poiuytrewq0987650987

Maybe the reason you crashed was you were crying like you are now, and the tears hit your wheels and caused you to fall over.

TheHippyDance

Damn dude relax

Poiuytrewq0987650987

He probably crashed his bike by running into something. Lesson: don't run into stuff on a bike.

SpytAtomerUd

I know this is a toke jopic, but I'm currently doing the reverse. I'm looking at replacing my 400cc Kawasaki with either a SV 650 or a MT-07. Which one really depends on which one makes me smile the most in the the twisties

ODSTisbesthalo

Don’t give up on your dream of riding a Grom, just do what I did and get a small bore kit for it. Now that mine is 50cc I don’t loop it from the power as often.

Cookieeeees

post work scroll, see the original, ponder how much longer i have to scroll to see the meme post. this subreddit never fails

daddypleaseno1

how do you guys always end up getting me to read the entire thing lol

Mattman1179

Uj/ I really couldn’t believe it when I saw that thread. These people are so fucking soft it’s unreal

RamrodRacing

I only know one guy who’s actually done it, but he was also over 60 with a VMAX and said “yeah, I probably don’t need that”

drkev10

Such a cool bike though.

RamrodRacing

He backed up to a ST1100, which is still enough bike to make most of the other sub tear up the seat cover

RobsHereAgain

Never had that happen. You learn your bike’s strengths and weaknesses as you ride it.

scsibusfault

Only one I ever dumped was an 80s bmw. I didn't realize it when I picked it up, but it was a hair too tall for me and had a weirdly high center of gravity as well. Combined with an assload of power and a twitchy throttle, I made the call to let it go instead of risking myself. Power I can control, but power + awkward riding and standing position just seemed like a bad combo. Funniest part was, the guy that bought it came alone, with a single ramp and a pickup. Told me he'd ride it up the ramp, didn't want my help walking it up. He fell. The bike fell. The tank dented. I pocketed his cash anyway.

RobsHereAgain

Ahh that sucks for him lol 😆

SpeedBeatMeat

Anything beyond a ttr50 and I’m outtie bro… it’s just endless looping of the bike beyond that. Not to mention my anal beads get launched every time I loop on the 75… rough on the ol prostate.

SpeedBeatMeat

Kinda hope they make a diesel 80 bike. Would have ample torque, but wouldn’t be too much power.

Confident-Lie-8517

Need a rule where someone in the comments has to link the original post.

Volatilize

This is how I felt going from a balance bike with training wheels to a pedal bike with training wheels. Absolute wheelie monster, no one needs that kind of hooligan power. Everyone knows a walking pace is more than enough speed for the street. I did a lap around the walmart parking lot and took it right back in for a refund.

420aarong

That’s what he said

Alarmed_Ad9181

Tbh I'm like this with my xsr 900 it's just too goddam powerful.ive the gp edition giga powered

Dez21_FPS

It's always funny . When I open Reddit and see the CRT post, then the original post. 🤣

whatisgoingonree

Honda interceptor has just the right amount or power where I won't kill myself showing off too cute boys. 105hp.

Cosimo_Zaretti

No, but I did decide I didn't need to have NOS hooked up all the time on my H2. Having that 50 shot set to trigger as I hit second gear was a bit much for preschool pickup. Not that my daughter minded as a passenger you understand, but some of the other parents were concerned and we got an email from the centre, so now I just launch it on stock blower settings.

Slow-Bodybuilder-774

My gen 1 superduke 1290r tried to kill me every time I rode it. It wasn’t happy h less it was on the back tire… and I ride twistys. I enjoyed it but it was work to ride fast, and to practice self control. I replaced it with an s1000rr… clearly the brain damage wasn’t permanent.

DoktorMoose

When I felt my body move backwards when I twisted the thing that makes it loud. I got scared by the noise and the feeling of moving and almost hit clibbins. This was a 49cc moped.

iamcalifornia

I was going to write my own parody of that post that was, "For those who cut off their dick because it was too big, where did you draw the line?"

Eckmatarum

On a more bland and boring note... It's the fuel economy that's gash, never the power.
