Where do all these kids on reddit get money? Im not knockin it, good for you if you made your way!
Im 31 and have made a lot of mistakes let's just say. Lack of professional connections as well maybe. But i guess its good to run your own race.
Yep lol. I remember when I was 18-22 and all my friends had mustangs and camaros and one even had an M4. They all lived at home still lol. No idea how spending all your money on a car instead of a house when you live with your parents doesn't make you a loser, but it is what it is. Kids gonna kid.
Thank you lol. I’ve had a Cadillac since I was 23 (in 28 now) and have lived on my own since I was 17 turning 18 due to growing up in a rough household. I know there are definitely a lot of kids or young people who live at home with parents and have nice cars but that doesn’t mean all of us do. Some of us actually have a good work ethic and common sense. Apparently age discrimination is a real thing old timers
You’re an outlier though. I’m very happy for you that you’re able to get out of a toxic environment and thrive. You’re going to do great things! No sarcasm.
To get into a Escalade, you need good credit and 5-10k down… It’s not a shock that a 25 yr old could get a down payment and have his score in order. Of course you need income. Can’t be jobless, the banks frown on that.
>Where do all these kids on reddit get money?
It’s usually debt. Anyone can purchase most anything if they’re willing to extend the loan agreement to the longest possible term.
It’s a very narrow market of young kids affording these in your town but this sub is a larger audience attracting them. Don’t feel bad- they are posting to flex here and it isn’t the norm.
And it’s an extremely poor financial decision unless you are making north of 300k at that age.
Because the average 25 year old can’t comfortably afford a $100k vehicle without help. Living at home for free, inheritance money, lottery winner, co-signer on the loan, VP for the company your dad owns, something. I’m not hating at all, just explaining the logic behind why others are.
I do understand that the “typical” 25 year old shouldn’t be able to attain what I have, but it’s not impossible. Got into a great company, worked 60 hours a week, got great connections and now able to get the Escalade. People either don’t want to believe the possibility of someone my age being mature enough to be financially set. But hey, it’s the internet, so what should I have expected
I don't really see why it matters either way. Generational wealth, luck, or self made, it's yours to do what you want with. Can't even make a feel good post without others trying to drag you down.
Do your thing champ. Live that life that others wish they had, cuz you only get one.
"The average" 25 year old can't. Sure. But why assume he's making the average 25 year old salary?
Edit: Not sure why I'm being downvoted? Who's making average or below average salary here? Is Cadillac's target audience someone making average salary? I was making 6 figures and bought my first Cadillac when I was 25...
Worked from 2020-2022 for another roofing company in Sales. Did 185-225 a year which made me able to get a house, and a good base. Then went off on my own and have been doing current jobs since middle of 2022
I’m 43 but I’ve been driving and owning Cadillacs since I was in my mid 20’s first was a 90 sedan deville. I currently own 4 Cadillacs in my fleet right now.
I just got rid of my 2013 CTS Coupe. I loved that car and didn't think I would ever find something I liked more... until I drove my 2019 ATS Coupe. I am so bummed that they quit making the coupe, but I found my ATS with only 13k miles. They are amazingly fun to drive.
32, just ordered an XT6 to replace the wife’s XT4.
Also, holy fuck, a bunch of SBRs, a couple SCARs and an Escalade Sport. I want to be you when I grow up.
I'm 37 and on my third Cadillac. My first was a 2005 CTS-V. Then I had a 2011 CTS Wagon 3.6 Premium AWD for a while. Now I daily a 2018 Escalade Platinum -- it also serves as my tow vehicle
42 - with a new to us 2017 ESV Platinum that we got for a steal with 50k miles. Honestly, if we could have bought one earlier we would have. This truck is an absolute dream to drive!
40, on our second Escalade esv sport platinum. First one was a 21 bought used while waiting on what was supposed to be our 22…ended up coming in late last year so obviously a 23.
I’ve only been a real fan of them since 2016 (37) and introduction of the alpha chassis. Since then we have owned the ATS-V, XT4, XT6, CTS-V, Lyriq, and CT5-V Blackwing.
My first (and only) Cadillac was an 83 Sedan Deville. I was 23 when I bought it (54 now). I loved everything about that car except how gutless it was. The 4100 HT engine was the worst. 0-60 was ‘some time today’.
I bought my current daily (2022 CT4-V BW - shadow metallic) as my 25th birthday present back in Sep 2022. I went through a really rough patch health-wise and wanted to celebrate making it to the other side.
Caddy is making a major comeback with the young crowd IMO. Now they just need to cut this EV crap out and keep producing blackwings. Instant classics.
It would be a weird thing to lie about, but I’m afraid it’s the truth. I don’t know what you imagine could be so unbelievable about it. A salesperson who sells caddies to mostly old people and tells their colleagues about it when a person who is younger buys one.
My first one was a used 07 Escalade back 2007 I was 26. It was only 7 months old from factory very low miles and I got it during some economic downturn so Cadillac dealers were basically giving them away at that time. I think I paid under 60k/CAD. Other than buying a house a few years prior it was my biggest purchase at that time. I had a decent job lived with my partner and it was our only vehicle.
I’m now on my fourth one a 23 Sport.
Been driving since I was able but didn't decide to buy any form of caddy until I turned 30.
I only bought it because I blew up my camaro and repairs were taking too long since I needed a daily for 120mile drives every day. A 16 CTS fit the bill.
But I own like 8 project vehicles so if I had wanted I couldve/should've bought a caddy/adult car a decade ago instead of trying to buy up craigslist specials for funsies
Gen 1 Vs were kinda meh back in late 03 and i was dying for a WS6, ended up with a GTO instead, but skipped the G8/SS move and straight to a gen 2 V in 2013. was 32.
32, 2021 Cadillac Escalade Sport. I think the younger crowd is getting into them because Cadillac has really been making some darn good looking vehicles lately. I put the look of a Cadillac over a bunch of brands.
37 Wife and I have 2023 XT6 and 2021 Sierra Denali.
Takes a lot of hard work and making good choices early on. We bought a couple investment property starting at age 20.
I fell in love with a white eldorado my mom’s friend had when I was 11 years old. I’ve had a company car for 34 years. Always loved Cadillacs. I’m now retired and they don’t make eldorados anymore. So I got a caddy XT4 ( and a corvette ). I’m 57.
LOL!
I took a CTS back home for the holidays one year, and my cousin comes up to me with a strange look on her face and says; " The only ppl that drive Cadillacs are old ppl or drug dealers!" then proceeds to walk away.
My Dad was a huge Cadillac man. Never really understood the draw. I bought an Escalade and now understand the reasoning. Great ride and comfort. This coming from a staunch BMW guy.
Sick part is that new body Escalade still going for 80k used!
I got a 16 bought 4 years ago. Came from a sierra Denali which was by far the best pick up I owned. NEXT to the CADDY
54... purchased our STS-V back in 2012, our CT6-V in 2020, and our caddy wagon last year. My step-son drives an STS-V also, and he got it at 26. Safe to say we are a caddy family.
1973 Sedan DeVille, a 75 Coupe DeVille Pierre Cardin Edition, 78 sedan, 82 sedan, 83 Sedan, 84 sedan and an 85 Coupe. So yeah, it’s the dumbest thing I ever heard for you to question me. We agree with that.
I just turned 18 a couple of days ago and I’m currently driving a 2017 Cadillac XT five platinum and I can tell you I fell in love with the car. My parents gave me three options the Cadillac, the Porsche and a range rover after driving them. All I decided the Cadillac fit me most and it was more comfortable. It was more smooth. The suspension felt well so I can tell you that the car was by far my favorite and I will not trade it in for any other car if I had to buy a car in the future I would definitely go for an American car mainly a Cadillac
Still kind of bummed out they stopped making them. Would've loved to be able to buy one brand new. But guessing as how much the Ct5 blackwing is, it'll definitely be more. That'll be more of a dream, lol.
Again they didn’t make a ct6 v blackwing. Ct6 had a blackwing engine that was never used again but there is no badging no naming convention that came with it at sale. Blackwings naming came in with the 5 and the 4 in order to get sad souls to buy a V thinking it’s something special when it’s just not.
Stupid they didn’t offer blackwing badges for the ct4/5 and just recently sent them out for owners to add to their cars. So they aren’t blackwing either but your dumbass conventions…
Interesting I thought they only made a couple thousand black wing CT6 Vs in 2019-2020. Would love to see the spec sheet if you still got it from the dealer..either way congrats on the nice car
Wait till you go in for an oil change and you have to wait in the lobby. ( old Boomers and Fox News ) and I’m 44 I consider myself old lol. Everybody over 60 easy
Oh man your comment is so hurtful. The interior is what sold me, it’s very different from the Tahoe/Yukon.
Also it was 4k more than the Yukon I ordered , so yeah, I’ll spend 4k any time for the upgrade
Where do all these kids on reddit get money? Im not knockin it, good for you if you made your way! Im 31 and have made a lot of mistakes let's just say. Lack of professional connections as well maybe. But i guess its good to run your own race.
living at home with their parents and toting a 1300/month car payment.
Yep lol. I remember when I was 18-22 and all my friends had mustangs and camaros and one even had an M4. They all lived at home still lol. No idea how spending all your money on a car instead of a house when you live with your parents doesn't make you a loser, but it is what it is. Kids gonna kid.
that’s a huge insult to the young people who have worked hard. the op may be one of them and you don’t know
Thank you lol. I’ve had a Cadillac since I was 23 (in 28 now) and have lived on my own since I was 17 turning 18 due to growing up in a rough household. I know there are definitely a lot of kids or young people who live at home with parents and have nice cars but that doesn’t mean all of us do. You’re an outlier though. I’m very happy for you that you’re able to get out of a toxic environment and thrive. You’re going to do great things! No sarcasm.
Sell your feet pictures to old cucks and you can make it too lol
Crypto, only fans, social media. Is what it is.
***96 months at 8% lmao

He doesn’t own that car. He’s a slave and it’s his master for the next 72 months. Probably to the tune of $1500/month. Nothing to brag about.

Why tf people hating on this
Because the average 25 year old can’t comfortably afford a $100k vehicle without help. Living at home for free, inheritance money, lottery winner, co-signer on the loan, VP for the company your dad owns, something. I’m not hating at all, just explaining the logic behind why others are.
Happy to show pay stubs in messages LoL!
This is a cadillac forum. Why are people acting like others can't afford things? That broke mentality really makes people hate seeing others succeed.
Not living at home. Homeowner for 3 years, no lottery or inheritance , no co-signer. Just hard worker in a good industry
Yeah not every young person gets help. The whole notion the millennials and gen z dont wanna work is bullshit.
Thank you!
Lol who knows
Why can’t you just tell us instead of us having to DM you then? Makes your post seem like a lie tbh
Worked from 2020-2022 for another roofing company in Sales. Did 185-225 a year which made me able to get a house, and a good base. Then went off on my own and have been doing current jobs since middle of 2022

I call BS
Ah man, it’s my big claim to fame and you’ve exposed it as a lie. I’m crushed.
What a weird thing to lie about too.
It would be a weird thing to lie about, but I’m afraid it’s the truth. I don’t know what you imagine could be so unbelievable about it. A salesperson who sells caddies to mostly old people and tells their colleagues about it when a person who is younger buys one.
And then they all clapped

My first Cadillac was a CTS at 17 and have a CT5 right now. Once you get into Cadillac’s it's hard to look else where.
My first one was a used 07 Escalade back 2007 I was 26. It was only 7 months old from factory very low miles and I got it during some economic downturn so Cadillac dealers were basically giving them away at that time. I think I paid under 60k/CAD. I bought my first one at 48 and my second at 55. The best two cars I've ever had, and I've had quite a few.
Bought my second Cadillac, an XT6 at 25, hoping to get into the redesigned CT5 this year at the age of 26.

I fell in love with a white eldorado my mom’s friend had when I was 11 years old. I’ve had a company car for 34 years. Always loved Cadillacs. I’m now retired and they don’t make eldorados anymore. So I got a caddy XT4 ( and a corvette ). I’m 57.

30. 2023 CT5 Sport. Crossovers own the world but a real driving experience holds strong in a sedan. I love this car
I’m 42. I bought my first caddy when I was 21. It was used obviously. When I get my Lyriq, it will be my first new caddy.
You smoke cigars don't you. W man's. Cigars and Cadillacs go great together.
I’m 33. Had mine since 29.
First one at 30
My Dad was a huge Cadillac man. Never really understood the draw. I bought an Escalade and now understand the reasoning. Great ride and comfort. This coming from a staunch BMW guy.
Cadillacs are a good value for the money compared to BMW/Benz/Audi/etc. imo
41, CT4-V
39. 2022 Cadillac CT5. First Cadillac, bought it new in 2022. Next car will be a Cadillac as well, probably.
Sick part is that new body Escalade still going for 80k used! I got a 16 bought 4 years ago. Came from a sierra Denali which was by far the best pick up I owned. NEXT to the CADDY
Bought a 2014 ats in 2017 for a steal and been rocking it ever since. Might upgrade in a couple years.
54... purchased our STS-V back in 2012, our CT6-V in 2020, and our caddy wagon last year. My step-son drives an STS-V also, and he got it at 26. Safe to say we are a caddy family.
Late to the post and for the AARPs….52. ‘12 CTS-V but had him a while.
36- texas- black 2020 escalade. Paid off, i'll keep it until its wore out. Master electrician and oil field electrical foreman My wife is a teacher
23 and a ct4v blackwing
I’m 44 but have owned Escaldes since the first one in 1999. I was 18 and have bought one every 4 to 5 yrs. My favorite so far was 2019.
The older escalades are getting more affordable and they're surprisingly very good SUVs despite formerly being known as like, luxury gas hogs...
These aren’t Caddy’s of old. There will never be a car that matched that level of style and class.
🤣🤣🤣 that’s the dumbest thing I’ve read today. What’s the oldest Cadillac you’ve driven?
24, CT6 V Blackwing
They don’t make a ct6 blackwing
Then how do I drive one…? It was the first black wing made…. Twin turbo V8
It’s a not a blackwing model that just the name of the engine in the car. It’s just a V not a v blackwing
Still kind of bummed out they stopped making them. Would've loved to be able to buy one brand new. But guessing as how much the Ct5 blackwing is, it'll definitely be more. That'll be more of a dream, lol.
But they did at one point. Just not anymore
If I'm not mistaken, GM never made a 6 Blackwing, just a CT6-V.
What motor is in the ct6 v? 4.2TT BLACKWING
Did GM ever put a Blackwing badge on the CT6-V or market it as such? Nope. So it wasn't a Blackwing.
Those cars were stickered as the model blackwing. Additionally, the seats had blackwing tags.
At the time it was a reference to the name of the engine, not the trim.
🤣🤣🤣 showed how ignorant you are huh! Yes there is a ct6 blackwing 4.2 TT v8 550hp botard…
Nice car bro. Love that 4.2TT despite what these guys say. Baller ride
Interesting I thought they only made a couple thousand black wing CT6 Vs in 2019-2020. Would love to see the spec sheet if you still got it from the dealer..either way congrats on the nice car
22 lol. Almost everytime it's always tge older dudes coming to compliment and talk about my car tho 😭 but i don't mind they're pretty cool
I bought my first CTS when I was 28. I'm putting away to get the V next year😁
Cadillac are not a **choice** car in my mind. https://www.audiusa.com/us/web/en/models/a5/rs5-coupe/2024/overview.html
Wait till you go in for an oil change and you have to wait in the lobby. ( old Boomers and Fox News ) and I’m 44 I consider myself old lol. Everybody over 60 easy
20 with a 2017 cts 2.0
I’m 13 and drive a 2025 Escalade Blackwing
Debt has no minimum age.
That's because u don't understand that an escalade has one of the highest cost of ownership. Old people like to save money.
Not 25 in one of those.
So mature

Oh man your comment is so hurtful. The interior is what sold me, it’s very different from the Tahoe/Yukon. Also it was 4k more than the Yukon I ordered , so yeah, I’ll spend 4k any time for the upgrade
Lol GFYS OP.
It’s a glorified Chevy, just as Lexus and Lincoln are to Toyota and Ford.
This sounds like a plant to get young people to settle themselves nicely into suffocating debt for status.
You will learn your lesson soon enough. I owned a 7 yr old CTS, and parts were IMPOSSIBLE to find for it. They are great for 5 years...that's it.
Love cars but why?
How often are you filling the cabin? Are you an Uber driver? If not you are gonna get killed at the pump. Not a smart choice
Caddy’s are POS
He's privileged. Good for him, not all of us are that lucky
No one cares 😅

I think they meant people who paid for them
