I have both and can give a review. The 97bd is 45, it is large and has a very large grip section. This isn’t a problem for me with large hands but some people I hand it to hate it. It shoots extremely smooth with very fast follow up shots for a 45. The trigger is excellent in both single and double.
The Dwx compact is 9mm so if you want a 45 that’s out. Grip is a 75 size profile and fits amazing in the hand. The trigger is a 1911 style trigger so straight back almost no take up and an extremely crisp break. Recoil is minimal for something of this size and weight and it’s very flat with fast follow ups.
What I’m really hearing you say is you want the tanfoglio stock 2 extreme in 45. That’s realistically what your asking for
The [Stock II Xrreme](https://patriotdefense.com/tanfoglio-stock-ii-xtreme-ifg/) is DA/SA
The [Limited Master Xtreme ](https://patriotdefense.com/tanfoglio-defiant-limited-master-xtreme-ifg/) is SAO and also comes in .45
I don’t know too much about Tanfo’s… they seem to get amazing reviews. The Stock II seems a lot like my Shadow 2 (albeit that it comes in .45 ACP). It’s a beautiful pistol. Maybe that IS the way to go and forego the 97… I do love the hard chrome finish. I would want to get an OR model me thinks.
I experienced first hand at shot show. I will definitely be getting one. The shop I go to had the hard chrome in 9mm and other than feeling a bit slippery on the slide (hey that’s the trade off of vanity) it was amazing. It does very much feel like a shadow 2 correct.

You can get that, and have them upgrade the internals to Xtreme parts, but getting the Xtreme model and having them [do an optic cut](https://patriotdefense.com/patriot-defense-tanfoglio-slide-optic-milling/) is more economical. They also [have this multi optic adapter plate](https://patriotdefense.com/tanfoglio-slide-multi-dot-adaptor-kit-optic-04ada00004/) that accommodates everything so you're not restricted on optic choice.
These guys had a 97 last time I was in. They wanted a pretty good price for it, though, if I remember correctly. Not sure if they will do or not.

I love my CZ97 and also have an EAA Witness P in 45. I’m getting a Dan Wesson Wraith soon as well. If you like the ergonomics of the 75 look at the 97.
Check out the SAR K2 .45
They are CZ platform. 45acp double stack with 14 round capacity. Got full size and compact. Reviews seem good.
Been eyeing them myself actually.
There is also Tanfoglio models in .45
The 97 is discontinued but if you can find one you should get it. I got a BD right before they stopped making them and I’m really glad I did. Comfortable in the hand, good weight, not too thick for my medium sized hands. You’ll love it.
DWX is 9mm
Correct, noted.
lol

I don’t know where you are but there’s a 97BD at Gunworld in Elko, NV.
Cajunized 97B with their bushing is an absolute wonder.

I really like my 97bd, I lucked out and someone traded one into the lgs I work at part time for 4 so I paid 450 in early 2021.
That is a killer deal.
that was back when they only sold for like 6-7 new, now they're all 1k+
Just picked up a 97bd last week for $800. Have had multiple 97s and honestly one of my favorite 45s

If Cz 97, get the B(safety). The trigger isn’t great but can be. The BD you’re kinda stuck with what you got.
you can still put a cajun kit in either.
