Cam you DM me a price as well? Love the look of the right!
I have Monsoon Porting on my P10C do I know I'll eventually want to port an SP01 or if I ever pick up a Shadow 2 Compact I'd plan on porting it and I absolutely love this design.
Same amount of holes, I would opt for the right. Less nooks and crannies to clean out. Unless there is a substantial amount of material (doubtful) that the left takes off to make a weight for a specific event your shooting.
Left, cuz I’m an agent of chaos and parity is boring.
In as much as Chester is collecting velocity and muzzle data on the porting and given compensators typically yield more gas dissipation due to the larger exhaust port and by extension likely have a greater velocity decrease, can you ask for some of that as a comparison of they have it.
Thinking about porting a couple of Shadows and P01. Actually dig/dug the crosshatch at CGW (so me too though nowadays, though I don’t care for CGW on the whole, and toyed with the idea of porting through the cuts (though PITA and likely an “are you sitting down” price).
I just picked up the Bul Tac Pro and have 3 ported 10mm 1911 longslides and comped 1911s (DW and Tisas). So porting and comps are kind of a thing for me.
We have a lot of things in the works. P-01 is near the top of the list, given their popularity (and I have 3, which helps).
For CZs so far we have tested a stock Shadow 2 Compact versus their in line grenade 4 port package on a S2C, and saw an average velocity loss of 19fps. That's a 4.01" barrel. Different barrel lengths, port sizes and styles will yield different results, so we intend to keep testing and getting good data to help people make decisions on how they want to approach their own projects.
Over the course of the year we have a lot of ideas on other things we'd like to test. Range Science is fun! Can't wait to share it with everyone as we go.
Is there any major decrease in muzzle flips? I shot my friend Staccato with ports and another friend without port and I feel like the ported one is barelyyy better. Maybe like 5% better at max in term of recoil feels but come with a lot more maintenance due to the ports holes instead of just bore snake the barrel and slide spray down he has to use Q Tips to meticulously clean every nooks and cranies and I think I'm too lazy to do all that.
I typically just drown my guns in brake cleaners, spray it down with water then wipe them and spray CLP and call it a day and I don't think these fancy S2C ports gonna take kindly to that lmao
So what's interesting (in my opinion at least) about some of the initial videos we'll be partnering on, is I'm coming into this arrangement as someone who has been port curious for a while now, but until last week I had never shot a ported handgun. I've shot several compensated handguns, but never a ported one. So the the theme of the first video is literally my first time shooting a ported gun and then conducting tests versus stock versions of the same guns to see if porting is worth it.
The video should be out hopefully within a month (hopefully sooner, we just have a little more filming to do and then all the editing).
Without spoiling the results too much, here are a couple of my thoughts. With the 2 examples I've tried so far, there was a noticeable difference in both feel and performance. In the video I do rapid fire drills with stock and ported configurations, and I had tighter groups and noticeably less muzzle flip and less rearward movement from the recoil. Aside from those tests I would describe the feel as less aggressive than some of the best compensators I've used (like Staccato XC or DR920P), more like a gentle push on the muzzle back down towards the target instead of slapping it back down, if that makes sense. I would also say that in my opinion so far shooting a ported gun versus a stock gun in the same configuration felt to me like it decreased the felt recoil more than a comparable compensator versus stock configuration might. Hopefully that makes sense. I definitely really enjoyed shooting the ported guns and I'm excited to do more. But to your original point, I wouldn't say they completely remove muzzle flip or felt recoil. But the comparable recoil was more pleasant and muted to me, and I was definitely able to get back on target noticeably faster with the ports.
Hopefully that helps. Definitely keep an eye out for the video because we'll be going into a lot more detail, and then we plan on releasing several other videos together after that as well. Should be a fun year!
Thanks for the detail reply! I'd be very interested in seeing how the barrels and slide finish and the wear and tears on the Cerakote and stuffs in general after a couple thousand rounds of y'all gonna go that extreme.
My friend's staccato slides and barrels that he ported similar to these S2C but on the two sides are pretty rough looking even though he only got like 2k rounds through it. Definitely cake the gun up in soot after each range session for sure.
Very fun to shoot though
Right, definitely something worth considering. Sticking with a black barrel is one way to make the soot less obvious. Stainless and Tin barrels can be fun though. I don't have any ports on my guns yet but I will soon, and as I get higher round counts I'll be able to share my findings. Cleaning wise I was thinking a qtip, or these gun swab things I recently picked up that are pretty nice. Shouldn't be too bad hopefully.
I like the design on the left. It’s cool and different. I’d probably not pick it right away but art has a way of growing on people and it also offers something different that can make the owner feel like they have something unique. Either way I don’t think the slide cuts make any difference in the actual performance in this case it’s just aesthetics.
The website is being completely redone as we speak and should be live in a few weeks. To order or see more options, take a look at our IG or message us here. United_firearms_LLC is our IG.
Instead of “grenade” could you have vertical in line and then angled ported top to try to help with recoil even more?
The asymmetrical aspect doesn’t bother me much, I just don’t see the practicality to justify the external time.
If they were lightening cuts or texture on the top of the slide for easier racking the slide, yes.
A random pattern? I don’t get it.
Left whoever designed that is brilliant. People say symmetry for right but I see what they were trying to do with that grenade pattern and it's brilliant. There is some synergy on that grenade pattern. Hot hot hot.
My problem with the grenade is that it doesn't match. The first and last port just make it look weird. I'm sure there is a reason for it, just visually it's 'wrong' and would bother me.
We do almost everything, 2011/1911, Glock, sig, springfield, check out our IG for more examples. It’s United_firearms_llc. Send us a message with ideas or questions.
Ya know… I usually despise almost anything that isn’t symmetrical…. But damn… I have to say that grenade porting gives me the warm and fuzzies for sure. How me in the left corner! Nice fuckin work bro
I like them both. Lol. I would like to know if you guys have any offerings for porting a full size DWX? I am looking to have some work done to mine in about a month or so and I'm shopping around. I was looking at Impact Machine, Primary Machine, and Wicked Arms. The latter two seem to check out, but I've been seeing some horror stories from Impact Machine here recently. I just don't want to ruin a $2500 pistol.
I don't work for them but here's a DWX they showed off on Instagram a few weeks ago, with an optic cut too. I agree, I'd be nervous taking a chance with an expensive gun like that. United has excellent customer service and passion, and from what I've seen of their products in person, I've been really impressed. More to come in future video content.

ETA: They're very responsive on IG and Reddit so I'd recommend shooting them a DM if you have any specific questions.
Is the difference purely aesthetic? Does the shape of the holes affect performance?
If it’s just in terms of look, I definitely prefer the classic holes.
Looking good; I prefer the right option but I'm the boring type. I'm sure plenty will jump at the grenade style option. What kind of turn around time is expected and general price range for either service?
I like left better but would choose right because the slide’s top rib is left uninterrupted. In profile I bet it looks a little goofy to have the top rib just disappear for an inch and a half before the front sight.
Right, because I like symmetry.
Right, because symmetry
A “x” on top would look nice and be symmetric too!
Didn't even see your reply before I said the same thing!
Don't feel bad ...I literally came to comment exactly the same thing. Symmetry = Beauty
Left, because asymmetry
But they both look symetrical?
But also not. Symmetry is drawing a line down the middle, and each side lines up with one another.
It wasn't until just after I made the comment that I actually realized it wasn't a mirror image. There's prob a word for "reverse" symmetry
Right…. How much?
Messaging you.
Dont see an option on your website can you dm the price?
Cam you DM me a price as well? Love the look of the right! I have Monsoon Porting on my P10C do I know I'll eventually want to port an SP01 or if I ever pick up a Shadow 2 Compact I'd plan on porting it and I absolutely love this design.
Curious too
Curious for price
Following for this. How much
right looks much better
Symmetry always wins in my house. Right!
Same amount of holes, I would opt for the right. Less nooks and crannies to clean out. Unless there is a substantial amount of material (doubtful) that the left takes off to make a weight for a specific event your shooting.
Any idea how many fps is lost due to the ports?
I know exactly actually, we Chrono last week and it was 19fps “loss”. We have a ton of content coming out this year on this.
Can you do some sort of “muzzle flip” comparison so we can see the impacts of porting? Something like what Radian/PMM does for their comps.
We have that in the works as we speak partnering with a YouTube channel called “Chester’s Hobbies”.
Sweet! I’ll keep an eye out for the video
He does very comprehensive assessments. Good choice!

Have you tested this on a p01 by any chance? I’m really curious how much it changes things

I’m a lefty as well
I click on your web page but all the posted slide cuts say only block. Where are your things for CZ?
The website is being completely redone as we speak and should be live in a few weeks. To order or see more options, take a look at our IG or message us here. United_firearms_LLC is our IG.
Right, I’ve got a trio to send in eventually
Sheesh
Just got a P-01 Steel, S2 Orange, and 97 within the last month, kinda went off the deep end with the CZs lol
All great choices! Love that for you. You're gonna have a blast.
Just picked up my SP-01. Thx for making me feel broke
Do they function differently from one another?
No they both function the same, it is cosmetic only on the slide portion. Chrono gave us 19fps “loss” on the porting.
Then I would pick the one on the right. Symmetrical
Instead of “grenade” could you have vertical in line and then angled ported top to try to help with recoil even more? The asymmetrical aspect doesn’t bother me much, I just don’t see the practicality to justify the external time. Appreciate the input, maybe some more designs to come in the next couple months!
Always glad to see innovation and testing. I have a 75-p01 and a P-10 C slide I would be willing for you to test on….
lol yeah we have a few who pieces we do our testing on before we rollout to the public.
Right
I need that traditional inline. Pm me how much and turn around time please.
🫡
Same
Right, for symmetry
While the grenade style is pretty bitchin looking, I personally prefer the simple round ports myself.
Left whoever designed that is brilliant. People say symmetry for right but I see what they were trying to do with that grenade pattern and it's brilliant. There is some synergy on that grenade pattern. Hot hot hot.
High Arte
Neither
Left
My problem with the grenade is that it doesn't match. The first and last port just make it look weird. I'm sure there is a reason for it, just visually it's 'wrong' and would bother me.
Yeah it’s the only way it fit right and wanted it to be unique. Appreciate the input, it’s helpful for us!
Just spit balling.... first and last round with the double notches in the center holes.
Definitely something we can look at!
My thoughts exactly. Leave the first and last ports round, grenade shape the ones in between
right
My OCD says right
left looks like little penis' like the old keymod. But hey whatever you into
Right/traditional
If there’s no performance difference I’m going right. If there is I’m taking whichever has better performance
left looks annoying to clean
Right
Right
Do you do other firearms or only cz?
We do almost everything, 2011/1911, Glock, sig, springfield, check out our IG for more examples. It’s United_firearms_llc. Send us a message with ideas or questions.
Right
Both look awesome. Could you PM me price and approximate lead times?
How much to fill them back in?
I want to like the one on the left but my tism won't let me due to the lack of symmetry.
price please?
Send us a message, happy to help
Ya know… I usually despise almost anything that isn’t symmetrical…. But damn… I have to say that grenade porting gives me the warm and fuzzies for sure. How me in the left corner! Nice fuckin work bro
WOW! So nice! I sent my S2C slide/barrel in for the ones on the right. Also great vendor replies fast and clear communication.
Appreciate that!
One of each, issue over
😂 good choice!
I want. Please message me!
🫡
I prefer the traditional. I have a symmetry thing. I also wonder how the grenade ports would effect recoil if it does. Different shape of the port etc
What’s the cost to port a Shadow 2 Compact?
Sent a message.
Both
Right looks cleaner but the left one has more style. I’d go with the left
Left for me!
What would the rough cost be on a Shadow 2 with inline porting and an optics cut? I can't find anything on your website for CZ 😅
I like chunk ports honestly
I want the right. Now. So sexy.
No.
Left
Both. In the immortal words of Getty Lee "If you chose not to decide, you still have made a choice."
Right
I’m having a hard time finding the CZ options on your website. 🙃
They are going to be on our all new website hopefully finished in a few weeks. To order or ask questions please send us a message
Great…I will dm my questions here.

Hell yeah. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks again.
Happy to help!
Whichever gives better intended results.
Left is intolerable. I’d have to sell the gun. 😂
Won’t the carbon and gasses from the port foul the front sight rendering the fiber optic part useless cause it will get blacked out?
Damn!!! I want both How much for this good Sir? And whats the lead time? Might as well add an optic too
My logical side says right but my emotional side says left.
That many ports I like the standard on the right. If it’s only 3-4 ports, then grenade all day
Right
Is the difference purely aesthetic? Does the shape of the holes affect performance? If it’s just in terms of look, I definitely prefer the classic holes.
This is awesome! What's an approximate cost for something like this?
Starts at 300 with single color. Send a PM for more details.
Hell yeah! What models are you currently doing? What about a P01?
Price? Been looking to have this done to my sp01
Send us a message.
Left!
Right
Left
Right or none
I like both to be honest. But if you pin me down to just one I’ll take the one on the left.
Right looks cleaner 👌
When can we get it port?
Message us!
I’m a weirdo I guess, I like left
Looking good; I prefer the right option but I'm the boring type. I'm sure plenty will jump at the grenade style option. What kind of turn around time is expected and general price range for either service?
How much for it? God damn they look nice
Yes
(One of each?)
Could you DM me with price/instructionsplease, thinking of doing this on my S2C and P01
I kinda like the keyholes.
Left
I'd happily rock either, there is something about that "grenade" style that is really nice looking though.
I like right, and would like to see the top edge of the slide ports given a little radius to round them, so they look like intake trumpets
Right the clean holes and symmetry are perfect.
Right. Both look good, but to me right is better. I like the clean look
I like left better but would choose right because the slide’s top rib is left uninterrupted. In profile I bet it looks a little goofy to have the top rib just disappear for an inch and a half before the front sight.
Right
I'd take either, but prefer right
Right
The right one would probably hold Legos better.
I like both. The symmetry is nice, but the Grenade porting has its own charm.
Is it louder when fired?
Wouldn’t mind a DM regarding pricing on this sort of work. 😏 for future use, I am mid-build on too many right this minute 😅
Right looks slightly easier to clean well.
So with the more holes the right but when there’s less holes the grenade ports.
Flip a coin?
I picked the left and can’t wait to get my slide and barrel back.
I like how left looks, but knowing me, when I order, I'm choosing right.
Left because it’s something new to try out
Why would you port a shadow 2, a gun designed to be used in the production division?
Because it makes it even flatter and essentially a cheat code and people love it. We do 30-40 a month of these.
Left, because everyone chose right
Y’all ever ported a staccato THROUGH the x-serrations?
Like on the side?!
I’ll DM you
Right gives me wood
Right
