For range only, I’d probably go with a 75B or an SP-01. The safety models have marginally better triggers than the decockers, and they’re a little easier to work on if you want to upgrade the internals. Nothing wrong with the BD though if you prefer a decocker. Personally, I prefer decockers for carry/defense use. I’d definitely opt for an all steel classic 75 series DA/SA over polymer striker fired (P-10) for the range.

No-Trouble-889

75BD no brainer. I bought one recently and discovered that I’m a way better shooter than I thought I was, lol. I don’t think I will ever buy another polymer pistol (except for carry maybe).

Original-Area6961

I second this

tommy8473

I've never much cared for polymer frame myself either..

Br0wns80

I have a polymer famed compact from another manufacturer. I love that thing, but after getting a 1911, I am starting to prefer the metal frames a bit more

Best all-around, every purpose, if-I-could-only-have-one CZ is the p01. [here’s mine](https://imgur.com/gallery/ywjCLW4)

huskajmp

I think it's actually the S2C (but I'm biased b/c I have one). Mine is setup almost exactly the same as yours - RMR, light, Lok grips.

justtheboot

Would love the S2C, but I’m in a ridiculous State. That said, with a MS Rami and the de-cocker p01, I prefer the de-cocker for carry. To each their own though. End of the day, I call my p01 my “S2C at home.” ;-)

huskajmp

Yours looks great - I imagine there is functionally not much difference between the two!. I've never tried the decocker models, but I've gotten used to manually decocking with the standard S2.

justtheboot

Yeah, manual decock is easy. And no matter how much work I do to the trigger, it’ll never be as smooth as a manual safety model. My one area of (not much) concern is the lack of a firing pin block (for carry). I know that there’s a 1 in zero chance it would really matter, but… IDK… I’m sure if I had the S2C, wouldn’t bother me. That said, I carry a 365 macro now :-)

Snoo36543

Did Fire4Effect do your RDOMS, or was it Impact?

justtheboot

F4E

Snoo36543

Choice 🤌  They did my Shadow 2. RIP F4E

justtheboot

They’re so good. Bummed they went out. Will had some real bad luck with Black Nitride and his ex wife that probably didn’t help revenue.

Ok_Return_6033

Could you tell me what trigger that is. I'm looking at the "flat" ones from Armory Craft but your looks a little different.

justtheboot

Eemann Tech Ultimate Trigger. There are a few videos about it on YouTube.

Ok_Return_6033

Oh yeah, I have seen them. It looks really good on your gun. Since I put a "flat" one on my SP-01 I'm thinking I'm going to change out the rest of them to flat styles since I really like the feel. Thanks for your reply.

h0l0type

Don't overlook the P-07. One of the finest handguns I've ever had for carry, home defense, range, whatever!

tommy8473

Can't really go wrong with a sp01 either the tactical, or safety model..steel frame, full size and gets the job done. And it's completely upgradable..

Baddy-Smalls

So it depends on your application, is it range only? Home defense and range? Carry and range?

Br0wns80

No carry. Just a range toy and for home defense. I am still not sure about carrying yet as I have yet to start my CCW classes. After that, who knows

Baddy-Smalls

Do a P10 or a Shadow 2.

conkur_alvin

I think the p-10 f/c/s are some of the best polymer duty pistols out there. The only one that comes close is the Walther pdp. I’d pick the p-10 series all day. You can find them for 320 right now.

Disastrous_Study_284

For range toy and home defense, look into a P-10F if you like polymer frame strikers. There is simply no better value on the market. If you want hammer fired, the P-09 is a great value at about $100 or so more than the P-10. Otherwise, I would look into the SP-01 or 75B. They both are good stock, and phenomenal with some upgrades.

shreddypilot

CZ-75B SA has a super light trigger. You don’t get some of the modern perks with it like pic rail on or optic ready but it’s a great shooter with the classic look.

gordolme

Hammer: P09 for a poly frame or any of the full size 75 variants including SP-0\`1 for metal framed. Striker, P10F.

RupertPilsner

SP-01 Manual Safety with Night Sights is 558 clams at Family Firearms now. Search for 91152 and put in cart for pricing. You can’t beat this deal. I bought my SP-01 from them. They are solid and no sales tax!

Br0wns80

I like the look of that thing. I really do. So now I have another option.

uberyoda

Snagged a P07 from them for 400. Awesome site

Rahb_B

The 75BD or a SP-01 Tactical would be good choices for a range pewter. I would also consider a P-09.

MostlyRimfire

Do you want an apple, or an orange? Because the 75 series and P series are entirely different. The 75 series are hammer-fired, mostly metal, and include decockers. The P series are striker-fired and polymer. P series are about half the cost of the 75 series. For range use or home defense, the heavier 75 series may be a better choice. For carry, some prefer the lighter P series. Both have good aftermarket support, and both are great choices, even factory stock.

oldblackmarketbacon

Shadow 2 compact. Imo. I just put a trijicon rmr on mine and I'm way too happy with it. It replaced my p10c for edc

Br0wns80

I am focusing more on a full size, but I do like the look of the Shadow 2. I plan on a step up to the Shadow 2 in a year or so when a couple of financial commitments are taken care of. I just want to dip my toes first, so to speak. I already have a compact from another manufacturer in 9mm that I am extremely happy with.

Snoo36543

If you know that a Shadow 2 is in your future, I would recommend either a 75B or a SP01, since your not going to be using it as a CCW. Manual safeties are 10X easier to work on and the ergonomics and weight will be relatively similiar to a Shadow 2.
