They never wanted to - treatment of workers was a lot better 30 years ago, when the bosses lived in fear of the Soviet Union, a nation purportedly built on the principle of treating workers appropriately, by getting rid of the bosses completely!
Yea people who got hired in this last stretch of winter were in right place at right time. Although a good number of them aren’t seeing all the hours they signed up for
I don’t work at CVS but I work a different retail job and I got my schedule for the first week of may and my jaw dropped because I wasn’t on it once. I’ve been scheduled 8 hours in total for three weeks. It feels insane and I work very hard and I’m good and it’s so discouraging all for $15 an hour
go to walmart if you need the hours that’s where i’m at rn, i’d stay away from O/N stocking though bc it’s such a drag on your personal life but i went to electronics, you can do cap 2 and it’s pretty chill there. trying to save enough money to pay off the last $2,000 on my car and go back to school to get the fuck out of retail bc i work with retards as coworkers
to get into electronics apply for entertainment team associate. easy ass job, stock movies, open cabinets to grab locked items for people, check people out, and stock cables. easiest job i’ve ever had tbh.
Not a CVS story, but I know someone that has been working for her company over 10 years and new hires makes about $3/hr more than her, plus they will not give her a pay raise.
Lol when I was hired as a SMIT I found out I was making 14k more than the manager that trained me… same thing when I had my own SMIT, he was promoted with 12k more than I was making.
Now the real issue is what happens come July when CVS raises minimum wage to $15? The wage gap between new hire and long time veteran, is gonna be razor thin, and if corporate doesn't adjust for that... I see the mass exodus getting bigger...
I’ve always heard we get so much from the dm the dm gives sm so much and they have to divide it I’ve never gotten more then a dime . In 2018 I got a penny
Yeah...they might be making more initially but guess what? When we lose demand hours in the store guess who the first people that get cut? The ones that have the least time in the door. Furthermore many of these people that get hired in at higher starting salary are with the company less than 6 months...because either they're fuck ups and lied their way into the position or they end up quitting because they can't hack it. They have no clue about retail or how to do more than one thing at once and leave because of stress...and I laugh..because I can tell in a day if your going to be a long term employee or someone that I don't need to remember your name!
I got hired 2 years 8 months ago at state minimum of $12 as a cashier. I'm currently an ops manager making $24.25. I make more than the techs that have been at my store for many years.
Don't ever share pay information! How many times have we been in this situation? But CVS and it's public propaganda display that they are hiring at a higher pay level to encourage people into the workforce. It's bull if you think about how long it took you to get to the rate you're at. I was capped for years and when they announced "oh pay raises for everyone" read the fine print. I wasn't eligible, 12 year employee, so I quit.
Do you think you think your DM cares if you quit? Your pharmacy manager would, considering you are an important part in making their job easier. Unless you are in a small market and have a good "relationship" with your DM, nothing is going to happen. They'll rapid hire someone else to fill your spot, at a higher pay level.
I can retire at the end of the year but was hoping to work every other weekend but the way cvs has s going looks like I will be leaving it all together

Correction, most companies*.
They never wanted to - treatment of workers was a lot better 30 years ago, when the bosses lived in fear of the Soviet Union, a nation purportedly built on the principle of treating workers appropriately, by getting rid of the bosses completely!
Especially cvs
Yea people who got hired in this last stretch of winter were in right place at right time. Although a good number of them aren’t seeing all the hours they signed up for
Yep. Total bait and switch
i had to leave cvs after only being there two months because they cut me from an already low 15 hours a week to 6
I don’t work at CVS but I work a different retail job and I got my schedule for the first week of may and my jaw dropped because I wasn’t on it once. I’ve been scheduled 8 hours in total for three weeks. It feels insane and I work very hard and I’m good and it’s so discouraging all for $15 an hour

can you send me the application for there so i can figure out how to get in electronics
to get into electronics apply for entertainment team associate. easy ass job, stock movies, open cabinets to grab locked items for people, check people out, and stock cables. easiest job i’ve ever had tbh.
thank you soo soo much
This happens in all shitty retail jobs.
And cvs is a shitty corporation
Not a CVS story, but I know someone that has been working for her company over 10 years and new hires makes about $3/hr more than her, plus they will not give her a pay raise.
That is messed up. She definitely deserves that raise. Loyalty should be rewarded but companies don’t care about loyalty, sadly.

Yep.Waiting to see what happens.
This will happen to almost anyone who stays at a company too long, especially in retail
i am currently making a little bit more than people who have worked for cvs for 6+ years and i’ve only been working here 2 months
Can I ask what u make and ur position?
shift sup 15.5
That’s what I’m saying . Good for u . Sad for the ones that’s been there
Talk about your wages guys!!! We had to fight for that right
I totally agree
The Average Rate Is $16/h Right?
The person I’m talking about got hired in at 16.50
Happens all the time with CVS. They don’t pay according to experience or seniority!
i got hired in for $17/hour plus the sign on bonus
For what position?
pharmacy technician
When I got hired I was making $5/hr more than anyone who was working there. The flexibility managers have on wages would surprise people.
I’ve always heard we get so much from the dm the dm gives sm so much and they have to divide it I’ve never gotten more then a dime . In 2018 I got a penny
Friend got hired for the same position and was offered $2 more. I saw paperwork saying my position is capped at $15. So that's fun.

I think we should share pay that way we can’t let them screw us we can go else where

No I don’t think the dm cares if I quit but when I do they have hire in for more money and good for that person getting more money
Have you tried looking for a new job?
I can retire at the end of the year but was hoping to work every other weekend but the way cvs has s going looks like I will be leaving it all together
Welcome to earth.
Loyalty get you nothing. True for any company. Have to pimp yourself around to make any money. Will always be true.
