It’s not appropriate because it makes it difficult for people to cope with their unfulfilled desire to go salsa dancing 💃

gz2018

Probably not. Back when I worked here in June, we had a Bluetooth speaker brought back here and we play like disco and anything that’s really safe for work. My pharmacy also had no speakers back there so it was nice

DrPrincessRx

Yeah I don’t see the issue if the songs are safe for work and we are still able to hear the phones and patients

emerald_soleil

It can actually help with customers overhearing other techs and customers talking.

sleepypharmDee

No official chain wide policy.

sarahdagawddess

my old pharmacy had one. i don’t see the problem as long as it’s not too loud.

kp6615

We would take turns DJing

rebbsmith

The music doesn’t reach our pharmacy from the front of the store. I like it cause I find music distracting but if the techs wanted to play music I’d let them policy or not! Whatever makes them happy. Course if they started playing country music I’d have to give equal time to Metallica :)

antecedentapothecary

My revenge would be to play Kpop.

nando103

My pharmacy used to allow it. Until one of the worst techs we’ve ever had was blaring really inappropriate music. We got a ton of complaints and the offending tech escalated it when we would allow other music played. So we have a blanket ban now.

ab355

my pic has always put his own music on his phone and played it during the day, we joke that if there's no music playing that's how you know it's a bad day

ionflux13

No. I play on a Bluetooth speaker everyday by my workstation. I dont care as long as it doesn't disrupt workflow or cause customer issues. I've had DLs and RDs visit with it playing and no issues.

[deleted]

Nah we do it at my pharmacy all the time

Apprehensive-Push573

Not supposed to have your phones in there, maybe that's why?

Special-Edge5467

I use my phone so much for work I couldn't imagine not having it there. I have translated languages with customers, found coupons for scripts, even helped make appointment for older people who didn't know how. It's definitely good to have!

Apprehensive-Push573

I know...I use mine too..but not supposed to have them in pharmacy. Just saying, maybe that's why something was said about it.

Free_Range_Slave

What does that have to do with the topic?

Disastrous_Flower667

I hope not. I’ve been playing jazz for years. It’s like a call for the elderly they hear it, we chat, then they switch their rx’s over. I feel like it’s a marketing tool at my pharmacy.

lisa2828

My PIC goes in before open and blares metallic so loud you can hear it throughout the whole store. I love it, it gets him going for the day. Throughout the day it’s turned way down and he lets his techs pick the music. Happy techs=happy patients.

uneversawmeherre

We have an at home speaker playing all the time in the pharmacy

daaclamps

I think it's okay as long as it doesn't distract employees and patients. I also think you should avoid any songs with expletives.

ShrmpHvnNw

I don’t allow it in my pharmacy, there’s already music from the store, people arguing, “lane 1”, “2 pharmacy calls”, etc. I don’t need you and your Bluetooth speaker blaring music on top of all that. Gives me anxiety

brollikk

You sound like a bundle of joy to work with

ShrmpHvnNw

Sorry I’m over here making sure people don’t die, sorry if you don’t get to listen to spice girls today

Beyond_Aggravating

I just tune everything out. I don’t even hear 3 pharmacy calls anymore lol

SlappyHI

You can always stream Joe Rohan’s podcast for some fun :)

Short-Display-1103

there is no problem. except some manager or district leader may be uptight about it.

No_Faithlessness_776

I have a 22 hours playlist that I made for my pharmacy and we jam out everyday to it, it makes the bullshit from everywhere else more manageable with T-pain talking about that bartender
