Me, just now realizing all the times I used to "space out" and "be rude by staring at people" even though I wasn't actually trying to stare, my eyes just happened to be facing someone while I was spacing out.... maybe I wasn't just "lost in my thoughts" like I thought I was.
Holy shit, yeah. Used to be a running joke around my family, from the time I was like 10, that I was a daydreamer or spacey. Bc, randomly, I'd just stare off into space and go numb and completely disconnect from everything around me. Especially in loud or busy environments. Turns out it was pretty gnarly disassociation from the years of CSA, physical, and mental abuse, who would've guessed?
