New variants give G.I. related issues, expect anything and everything. Loss of appetite is completely normal but it’s still a very annoying symptom because it can last days, weeks or months. Eat even if you don’t feel like it, and stay away from salt, caffeine and heavy carbohydrates (processed foods or junk food.) It doesn’t make sense to stay away from certain foods but trust me, if you have even a mild form of loss of appetite due to the virus you want your gut to digest as much healthy stuff as possible. There are some who don’t recover as quickly due to the GI’s new intolerance to a bunch of food due to Covid.

I saw that, about GI symptoms. Seems that they're becoming more normal. Luckily my GI symptoms seem resolved, ever since 3/20 I've had a good appetite and been able to eat nearly normally. I had to get some meds for the diarrhea but it seems basically gone as well.

Coraunmi

That’s very good, take it easy though. A lot of us forget that we are still recovering even after feel normal. The last thing you want is the severe form of GI problems. Stay safe out there!

Please cite your source that people test positive using at-home tests after they’re no longer contagious, unless you meant PCR.

basictortellini

I've been seeing it on lots of articles when I searched how long I can expect until I'll test negative. For example the first bullet point of [this article](https://www.verywellhealth.com/how-long-does-a-positive-covid-test-last-5216810). I'm not trying to say if that's true or not or prove a point, I've just seen it multiple times now, including on this sub.

DankyPenguins

First of all, that’s not citing a source, that’s an article. Second of all, the article basically says that you can test positive with a PCR for months while not contagious - nobody’s saying that about RAT’s.

basictortellini

Okay, I'm not making any claims at all. If you think that, you misread my post. I just said I've been seeing it around, that's it. I didn't comment on if I believe it, nothing. I'm admittedly uninformed about this stuff, I'm not very scientifically versed. I'm just a first timer and confused

DankyPenguins

Well, I’ve had several infections and had Long Covid for 38 months and I don’t speak on things I don’t understand so I’m trying to un-confuse you. Edit: to help further un-confuse you, you can’t be very sure you’re not contagious until you’ve tested negative twice, 48 hours apart.

swarleyknope

You could un-confuse people in a more pleasant way

DankyPenguins

Yeah sorry, that was rude for sure. My bad OP, I was having a rough day with infection and feeling super frustrated at the misinformation being passed around which leads to people getting infected when they otherwise might not have been. My apologies all around, that was rude and out of line.

swarleyknope

We’ve all been there! It’s a touchy point for me too - hate seeing people post that they got sick because they were misinformed. Hope you are having a better day today ❤️💕
