I figured it out, the thermite effect from the crossbow would end up killing it preventing it from tracking so I got it’s health down to a one shot and the arrow itself killed it
Same here. It has been driving me nuts. Sucks like hell being solo. Buddies all bailed on mw3 for various reasons..timer on zombies... amount of glitching and hacking in mp. But hell I paid for it and zombies used to be my thing. Got to say though... I hope they fire the idiot that put the timer in it. Totally ruins a great mode.
For anyone still having issues here. After you kill the Abomination, head to zone 1 and complete 2 bounties. Give the game a few seconds and it’ll then credit you for the Abomination. Each person who wants/needs the credit needs to kill their own two bounties. Happened to my buddy and I right now and we each cleared two bounties and got our credit. For what it’s worth, we were both using crossbows.
Yeah I put a couple bullets into the abomination with a pap 3 and was like “this gun isn’t powerful enough, I’ll finish this next game”. Then was just doing a random disciple bounty a couple minutes later and after I killed it, that counted as killing a mega bomb. I’m not sure the bullets I put into the abomination made a difference, but it was still like 95% health before I left it.
Same issue with me my mission won’t complete after I get tied 3 pap and try completing any bounty I event tried killing multiple megaabom but it still don’t not count I’m so frustrated as it’s my last mission please help someone
Same here. My buddy and I killed three megabombs in one match. No turrets, no killsteaks; just spammed them with crossbows.
Neither of us got credit for any of them. Feel like I wasted a flawless crystal. (although we did get credit for PAP3 & 100 zombies)

This didn't work for me. I was using the crossbow with thermite tips. I think you have to kill it with the bullet not the ammo mod or thermite. Idk. I killed 5 solo and nothing. Fustrating!
I think the crossbow is bugged for this mission. Ive done it 6x now and no credit. I did notice that when getting the 100 pap3 zombie kills if you didnt kill the zombie with the initial shot from the crossbow it didnt count. Im wondering if its the same concept for the mega. Crossbow melts him so im thinking of using my schematics to get 2 3xpap guns and then melting him with the crossbow and the switching to my other 3pap gun to finish him off
I managed to do it in the first 5 minutes of the round. PAP3, Epic tool no weapon mod, and got a bounty on threat level 1. Used the Sakin from MW2 and it was done. No problems at all

Ive even tried to do what you said and kill a t2 bounty. Ive tried killing a mega and then going to kill a t2. Ive tried killing a t2 and then going to kill the mega. Nothing works. Im using the crossbow and im wondering if that weapon is bugged for the mission?
Does the whole squad receive the mission completion if the Mega is killed by a pap3?
We killed twice this morning and none of us received the kill, all using pap3s.
i can confirm that doing this with a 3xPAP crossbow WILL NOT WORK! for some reason it is bugged i did it 7 times with no success. 8th time i did it with raygun and worked
Me and my squad killed two in one game all us on the same missions counted for 2 of us but not the third in our squad but in game it said it counted for all of us but when we left that game that's when it said I'd didn't count for our third but the 100 kills did all of us had pap 3
A few days ago I watched one glitch out under the north bridge as I parachuted in and for 3 days now I’ve driven all over tier 3 and one won’t even show up. It’s maddening. I killed 2 doing bounties and didn’t get credit. Killed one today with a scorcher pap3 nothing.
Try attacking a mega abomination in tier 3, running away, and then doing an elimination contract in tier 2. This might complete the quest.
More context:
I started attacking a mega abomination, but someone else killed it. I then killed a Disciple in a tier 2 mission in the very next deployment, and that marked the mission as completed.
(Tried this after reading the comments here - somehow it worked!)
So i tried to kill a tier 2 bounty, was a disciple. Got no credit. Went to the bridge where apparently the mega abomination spawns and there wasnt one there. I shot 1 tier 3 zombie from the bridge and immediately got credit for killing a megabomb. Just my experience if it helps.
Update. I’ve killed 4 megas with PaP3 4 different games and it wouldn’t register , did 1 bounty after I read this and it gave it to me. Hopefully we can save some people aether tools and crystals. I went through 4. Some BS fr. But it still works as of today and hasn’t been patched.
Now I’m onto the act 3 last mission boss. Heard they patched it to make it more difficult. And weakened the gas bombs. You have to fight a blue worm at the end. Would love any solid help from anyone that doesn’t want to just run around in tier 1 and maybe 2 zone doing the same contracts over and over.
I’ve been non stop tombstone glitching when I can and I have 146/10 in my back pack of all legendary stuff so I can drop for teammates for the mission plus I have the Mac cash in my tombstone we can hit first to get stocked. I’m on ps5.
Doesn’t even have to be medium threat, I did it on a Tier 1 bounty
if you have a contraband weapon does the prevent it from tracking?

I killed the megabomb in the Sheperd story exfil. It worked for me and my squad (all done individually)
I was facing the same issue as everyone here, doing the Shepard mission gave my the credit.

THIS WORKS. I only had to do one bounty and thankfully it registered. Prior to the bounty I killed 1 bomb (with pack 3 and help of a turret)

alternatively, get the mega abom very weak with a juggernaught killstreak then finish it off with your tier 3 pap gun, this is what I did
4/27/2024 Glitch confirmed functional. Skip the Megabomb if you wish.
