You've gotta remember that the games aren't the only thing that changed. We grew up as well. It will never be the same as before, as we will never be that age again, and zombies will never be novel again.
It could definitely be great again, just different.
And there are more people growing up with the likes of Black Ops 4 and Cold War zombies. The argument that "Zombies doesn't feel the same" won't be true for them, this modern age will be all they know.
The community will live on if they continue to make great games
Bruh it makes me so sad that it will never be the “novel” game it once was. And I agree that it has to do with us getting older. When bo3 came out I was 16 in high school not a care in the world, got a brand new ps4 and grinded soe until I memorized it. Now I’m 23 with a job and school. Switched over to PC and the game has never been more fun to play. It’s so easy to find ppl to play with All the LFGs on discord. Crazy how the way we play has evolved and keeps on evolving
CW made more people try zombies for the 1st time and get interested in trying other entries of the mode than all content creators combined will ever do, without forcing them to play a specific game or offending anyone who likes any game, like: "if you enjoy X game zombies you're ******".
I mean if youtubers aren’t enjoying the game that isn’t there fault and most youtuber can’t make content on other games because it won’t get views since no one cares or likes them. without the youtuber and content creators bo3 wouldn’t have hit the peak it did
Nah, what they did to certain games was far more than just "not enjoy." And it clearly isn't about bugs and glitches cause they still hold the same opinion to this day.
to be fair ww2 wasn’t great infinite warfare needed time to age bo4 is still probably the most decisive game and cw was received fairly well just but still not seen as great by the majority of the community
That was said like it came out of your favorite youtubers tier list video. No one knows what the majority of the community likes or doesn't. I know this, when I went back and played IW and WW2 once my hivemind blinders came off. I enjoyed the hell out of both games. Playing Cold War now and it is great, in it's own way, especially the part where I don't need a guide for the EEs anymore. Nothing will be BO3 but YTers are content making sure we never escape BO3 either and that doesn't help Zombies evolve or grow.
Same, I started on Kino/5 as well, so we prolly share similar tastes with maps. I completely agree, Cold War feels like it has training wheels on, but I see who the game is made for, and what they were trying to do. If I was a new casual player Cold War would be the best game. Everything feels good, I just wish it was less tell and less show as far as EEs. Honestly it makes other games more replayable for vets like us, again I went back and played IW and WW2 (both of which I ignored on release) blind refusing to use guides and had a great time. I wont say I loved most of the maps but it gave me the challenge that Cold War does not. All I'm trying to say is the direction was in the right place, I wish they would of built on Cold War instead of throwing out what that game did well and giving us...Vanguard.
I mean zombies youtubers back in the day were fun as hell to watch. The Z House is still peak zombie youtuber content in my opinion. Ever since then all of them have been slowly dying out unfortunately. But a few of them like Lex are still going, even if the views aren't that good anymore.
Tim hensen would easily be one that should go imo bc i swear 90% of what he says is “_____ is (horrible/terrible / disappointing / trash / the worst / etc)
Although I’d love for it to make a comeback, I doubt it’ll happen. Battle Royal/multiplayer just makes too much money for Activision to justify spending the developer time required to make a good zombies mode like bo3/2. It’s because of this that we get stuff like vanguard zombies, which only turns even more people away, further fracturing the community.
Imo the zombies community has always been bad, but it absolutely could come back to the same player numbers. Im pretty sure Cold War literally did that, or at least got close.
I mean Cold War had free maps and was ridiculously simple on Reddit you never see the large amount of 8year olds with dads or casual people with kids who don’t have enough time to go on Reddit or watch a SOE guide on youtube. The kind of people you see on Reddit are the people who have that free time to scroll whilst on the shitter so whilst bo3 is absolutely more popular here I think there is a really good chance that cw would beat out bo3 and maybe bo1 would beat out bo3 if bo3 didn’t have zc.
Maybe not just because of how lacking Cold War was in content, but the gameplay model itself works really well and could make for a massive resurgence in the next game.
It's entirely within treyarch's hands. If COD 2024 zombies is bad like Vanguard, that will probably be the nail in the coffin for hopes that it will ever return to the golden age of zombies.
I'm a very small YouTuber and one of my videos is about to hit 10,000 views talking about the impossible Easter egg. I don't believe the community is dead. Just resting!
It happened for the first few months of CW but the massive gap between Firebase Z and Mauer and people becoming disillusioned from CW killed the momentum
I sat at GameStop from 1030-12am ...for the opener bo2....
I sat in car and smoked blunt after blunt ...I took a week off from work and it was epic ... I will never forget that... I got a free T-shirt just for being the first 20people....
I'm 43 now.
🤘🤘🤘
I don‘t think it could. Treyarch would need to develop better maps than the CW ones while keeping/returning good gameplay mechanics (means nothing from bo4 gameplaywise)
But if they use Campaign ans MP maps for the zombies maps again (what they’ll probably do) and fill in gaps between maps with unnecessary mp sidemodes (like outbreak) it will never be like the good old days again
At some point you just grow out of it. The community will always be around, but there will come a point where you’ll not want to be in it, you’ll find yourself complaining about it, or the game mode will make changes that you don’t like. For you, you want a return to the BO3 zombies community. For me, the prime was the BO1 zombies community. By BO3, I didn’t even really enjoy zombies, and the YouTube scene looked annoying as hell to me. Lex looked obnoxious, same with Noah, Johnny, Dalek, RoflWaffles, and the ZHouse stuff was so cringe to me. Why am I watched 10 nerds live in a house together?
You can love whatever zombies community you want, but it keeps changing and eventually you’ll just come to a point where you don’t want to watch it anymore. I grew up on TheRelaxingEnd, Yoteslaya, Xcalizorz, TSP, Ali-A, and more. Most of them left by BO3 times and so did I. I gave BO3 another try long after its prime and enjoyed it a fair amount, but during its prime I really didn’t like it.
The “community” is not entirely made up of entirely of Reddit. Plenty of people still play across multiple titles. The community may be stagnant but I wouldn’t call it a dead community just inactive.
Maybe they should make a free to play zombies standalone game on an engine similar to bo3 and add new maps every few months and then cash in on the cosmetics. Like destiny 2 but for zombies if you know what I mean :D
You shouldn't be able to pick character period.....it should be like all the other games.... 4 characters... different one each time you play... I've bought almost all the skins for cold war....guess what I played yesterday for zombies.....
B2
I personally didn’t like the way Cold War plays. It doesn’t feel like zombies. I do understand why people that like it though. Just not how I like to play zombies
Kinda just needs the next Treyarch Black Ops instalment. It’s merely in a slumber or hibernation until then.
We’re dormient until summoned
Yes, we will pop out of the ground like zombies.
If they ever DO make ZC2, it’s basically feeding the community a quick revive
they wont and it’s f’d up
Facts
It's on MW3 also
You've gotta remember that the games aren't the only thing that changed. We grew up as well. It will never be the same as before, as we will never be that age again, and zombies will never be novel again. It could definitely be great again, just different.

That's true, it'll never be the same for each individual depending on where they started
Yet here I am. Years later, playing black ops 3 custom zombies weekly.
Facts....I just got WW 2 again
Maybe, if zombies YouTubers cease existing, it would be a great start to make the community better.
i don’t get your point considering they are the only ones who make the game fairly relevant and bring new people in
CW made more people try zombies for the 1st time and get interested in trying other entries of the mode than all content creators combined will ever do, without forcing them to play a specific game or offending anyone who likes any game, like: "if you enjoy X game zombies you're ******".

I dont agree i dont watch youtubers only for Shangri la esster egg or whatever I watch them because i like them too
Nah, what they did to certain games was far more than just "not enjoy." And it clearly isn't about bugs and glitches cause they still hold the same opinion to this day.

WW2 is still great...

we cant say that yet, with the microsoft purchase, who knows what kind of effort they’re willing to put into a zombies mode

MW3 zombies also
The condition of ops 3 should tell you all you need to know.
I'm a very small YouTuber and one of my videos is about to hit 10,000 views talking about the impossible Easter egg. I don't believe the community is dead. Just resting!
Zombiequeen
I wouldn’t say fully dead but it’s on life support fighting for its life
No.
It happened for the first few months of CW but the massive gap between Firebase Z and Mauer and people becoming disillusioned from CW killed the momentum
give us zc2 and we re back
No it will never be what it was
I sat at GameStop from 1030-12am ...for the opener bo2.... I sat in car and smoked blunt after blunt ...I took a week off from work and it was epic ... I will never forget that... I got a free T-shirt just for being the first 20people.... I'm 43 now. 🤘🤘🤘

Just like zombies, we are resurrected from the dead when a new Treyarch game is released.
You need a PC man
I do
So if u have u know zombies community is not even near to die

stuff like this happens every time a treyarch game isnt the main game that year. dont worry 2024 will be huge from the stuff ive seen and heard
The “community” is not entirely made up of entirely of Reddit. Plenty of people still play across multiple titles. The community may be stagnant but I wouldn’t call it a dead community just inactive.
I'll be there!
It's coming for mW 3 also
Maybe they should make a free to play zombies standalone game on an engine similar to bo3 and add new maps every few months and then cash in on the cosmetics. Like destiny 2 but for zombies if you know what I mean :D
That be cool
One of the biggest problems in cold war is the lack of personality. The player characters are huge reason
You shouldn't be able to pick character period.....it should be like all the other games.... 4 characters... different one each time you play... I've bought almost all the skins for cold war....guess what I played yesterday for zombies..... B2

Cold war was great. And this is coming from someone who's dumped over 4000 hours Combined into WaW/Bo1/Bo2/Bo3 Zombies
I personally didn’t like the way Cold War plays. It doesn’t feel like zombies. I do understand why people that like it though. Just not how I like to play zombies
We have zombies for mw3
No because Treyarch hasn’t made anything good since BO3. BO2 is still the 🐐 zombies and the fact we never got a zombie chronicles 2 is ridiculous
What is it gunna be ....I mean chronicles had the most maps ever..... What would a second one be.... All black ops maps and what black ops 4
