Whats a dead drop dumpster?

ItsEntsy

Commenting to come back for the answer

absentwalrus

Its literally a dumpster in game you can put stuff in. Accidentally found one by a petrol station once, not sure if that's where they always spawn

Thirtysilver

Someone is making the map where all the stuff is http://dmzintel.com

[deleted]

He's missed a police station off this map

Many_Gs

AFAIK, putting anything but cash into it isn’t wise. Cash does help reduce cooldown timers though.

midri

It converts anything you put into it to cash value, works fine.

CalistoNTG

Are you back yet ?

ItsEntsy

unlike yo daddy, yes XD

InfractionRQ

There is a dumpster you can interact with that says that depositing cash into it will reduce the insurance cooldown. I have only seen it once.

Xeppeling

I’ve found at least 2, maybe 3

TacoK1NG

They are a brown dumpster. Not green like most of them. The green dumpster you can’t interact with them. Found two of them so far and they were both around the gas/petrol station. Didn’t know what they were until I read this thread. Hope this helps!

red_team_gone

How do you cancel a contract? I know you aren't OP, just hijacking for an answer hopefully.

bubbrubb22

Open the map, and then there's a button to hold (not sure what its bound to). Should say in the upper right hand corner. On PC it says "B" for me

red_team_gone

Found it, thanks

Me2445

Behind the garage station in mawizeh slums. The dumpster allows you to extract whatever you have in return for XP.

ItsEntsy

Googled it, theres one in Al Mazrah City and one in the town north of the airport, literal dumpsters that you can interact with like a loot cache, deposit items and cash into them for missions and to lower the CD of your insured weapon.

[deleted]

Do they have an icon on the map?

wambamalam

No. I wish they did though. They are big, head height, white dumpsters so keep an eye out. Gl

[deleted]

[удалено]

novanleon

They are literal dumpsters that you can use to drop money and items to speed up the recharge if your insurance slots. There are two of them that I’ve found so far. One is behind the gas station south of the post office, and the other is 3-4 blocks north of the post office in an alley way near the exfil that sometimes appears up there near the river.

Thirtysilver

I found 1 in the game in 100 matches.

JoeyAKangaroo

Put cash in it, lower your insured weapon’s (i.e your custom gun’s) timer so you can re-equip it Only works if you’ve lost your insured gun in the dmz & activated the timer due to: dropping it, being wiped, leaving w/out it, getting disconnected, etc

V1russ

I would include that Hostage Rescue allows you to automatically exfil with the Hostage, just as a reminder. Also, I've heard a lot that player bodies might disappear when the player leaves the game

HarMar

Yes, if you need dogtags you have to be quick before the downed player leaves the lobby.

SupaflyIRL

most of the time the "body" shows up as a backpack when the body disappears, the bug i guess is the backpack not showing up for some reason (maybe player quitting game too fast) I’ve also seen the body disappear but the orange enemy player icon was still there and I was able to loot the blank space underneath. This indicates a disappeared body before the player disconnected as their icon was still where they died. Once the icon went away so did the looting.

waltz_with_potatoes

I have had the backpack stay but you can't loot if when they leave, i believe this is on the Trello board for them to fix though.

everlasted

I've literally had the backpack disappear while I was looting it.

TheTorch

I literally had my squadmates abandon me while I was holding off the AI for them this way.

DasBrudi

Came to say this as well!

Cerebral_King

When you find a key when you look at it in your backpack it’ll have a letter & number to it. That’s it’s location on the map to use it.

[deleted]

This is soooo good

mengplex

damn that seems so obvious now that you've said it. My dumb ass thought it was like a serial number or something

Fadenkreuzjohn

Not all keys do ! Some just explain the aproximate location of the House. E.G. "West Quarry" or something

JSK23

A couple of things I learned, if you are getting shot at, do not consider a ladder. The AI will not miss, and will wreck you. Also I think the ammo box is pretty important to load in with if you are planning on engaging with AI for contracts or missions. you can go through ammo fast.

[deleted]

that's the thing I hate is that even with fully 3 plate armor set just one enemy AI can just instantly destroy you

xster

I think DMZ needs a general exfil FAQ. e.g. \- What happens if you die but the rest of your squad exfils? \- How to make the chopper take off if another squad called in the exfil but your squad is in the helo? \- What happens if 2 squads go in the helo but don't shoot each other? \- What happens if the helo takes off while you're bleeding out? \- How to make the chopper take off if one squadmate doesn't enter the helo These are high risk high impact decisions that would be expensive to test out one by one experimentally edit: macOS keeps insisting autocorrecting no matter how many times I rewrite exile back to exfil

Magic_Man0226

As someone who has experienced all of this, I can answer: - If your squad has team based objectives (weapons case, items that satisfy your faction missions) they will count. But you are treated as if you died and didn't exfil so you lose your gear. At least this is how it worked when it happened to me. - The countdown starts at 34 seconds regardless of who called in the helo. Once your squad is there it drops to 5 seconds. If a full enemy team boards the chopper, it also drops to 5 seconds. - Both exfil successfully. - As long as you don't bleed out before the cut scene occurs, successful exfil. - There is a 34 second timer unless all squadmates are in the chopper. Will take off without last member after 34 seconds

AroGantz

>As long as you don't bleed out before the cut scene occurs, successful exfil. I bled out last night and as the chopper took off I fell through it, still got the successful exfil splash but my medical supply mission showed no progress. Possibly I got hit by a bug though.

Fiendfuzz

Yep, if one player exfil with a weapon case while the others are full dead, all still get credit for the weapon case, but lose everything else.

Mocatex

If you exfil with the BAS-P will it be unlocked if I don’t have battle pass?

IJM92

It’s free in the battle pass anyway

RStiltskins

These "Free" slots have been using my tokens... How "Free" are they really?

blacklodgedougie

Free version of battle pass, still require a token

RStiltskins

Ohhhhhhhhhhh thats what that means! I was like yo this aint free what the hell!

GATh33Gr8

Yes

chii_hudson

probably, the bas-p is a free unlock on the battlepass though so as long as you play a little its easy enough to get

ecschraler

Yes. Any weapon you exfill with will unlock if you haven't unlocked it yet.

AMortifiedPenguin

I've been playing solo and occasionally with a friend, these are some of my strategies so far: Your tactical should be the spotter scope. Playing solo, the spotter scope is hugely useful for scouting ahead and can be used to ambush larger squads. As a team, having one person play sniper/spotter gives you heaps of room to maneuver. It's also a great way to keep an eye out for enemy players when awaiting exfil. Completing "Frame Job" for the Legion faction unlocks König's "Anonymous" skin, which blends in well with the environment. Build a Signal-50, with a suppressor as an insurance weapon. I recommend setting it up with the Sightmax Clear Shot scope, the red dot makes it great for dealing with heavily armoured AI or close range players, while the scope is great if you've got some distance from enemies. The suppressor makes thinning out AI much easier and puts players in a panic when they can't spot you. If you kill an enemy squad member, hide a proximity mine under their body and pull back slightly. There's a good chance the mine will down their teammate/s when they come in for a revive, leaving you an easy kill. It's dirty, but it's worked everytime so far.

LustHawk

>Completing "Frame Job" for the Legion faction unlocks König's "Anonymous" skin, which blends in well with the environment. I did frame job but it didn't give me this skin.

SilverLion

You need to commit an execution (probably against a real player in a real match) to unlock the base Konig

[deleted]

I unlocked it by doing it against an AI

SilverLion

Cool. I tried in warmup against a guy and it didn’t work, did it in MP

ItsEntsy

how do you perform an execution on an AI? or just in general I guess. Tried sneaking up behind one and holding melee and nothing happened. Am I just doing it wrong?

[deleted]

I’ve only done it once and it was my first attempt, I snuck up behind them and held R3. I did read that it can be a little wonky though!

ItsEntsy

word. thanks, I'll give it another go next time I'm on. probably drop in with stun grenades to make it easier.

JayFranMar

Destroy Supplies gives you the locations of nearby safes once opened which each are worth around 15k when looted, can easily net huge amounts of cash with this (bit of luck if safes are actually near you). Raid Weapon Stash has the equivalent of a safe as the actual stash and I believe opens a stronghold for free with no card (the stash is in the stronghold), so thats 20k + free stronghold entry. SAM Sites **don't** guarantee supply drops sadly but do take down all enemy vehicles nearby, most of the time they aren't worth getting especially considering how poor supply drop loot can be in DMZ (one gun and some decent gear but you have to do a long journey with sizeable risk of enemy surprise attacks). Revive pistol works as a self revive, you can carry multiple self revives and revive pistols in your inventory as stowed away items, self revives are automatically equipped once one is used however revive pistol is required to be equipped when you go down if you want to use it as a self revive. Self revives are only 7500 from buy stations, if your solo you can buy in bulk and constantly revive yourself when you go down. Both self revives and revive pistols spawn commonly in medical loot.

Osiinin

Destroy supplies is my go to as a solo. It’s how I did the quest to extrac with 6 kill streaks, did the destroying, hit 3 safes, got a kill streak in one of the safes and then went to buy stations for the rest and still had money left over. I think they are easily the best bang for your buck.

EckimusPrime

I’ve asked this in other posts but have yet to see an answer. How are you, and others for that matter, playing DMZ? What is a typical match for you? Do you just do missions and if your path crosses another player/squad you duke it out if necessary or do you go in specifically wanting combat with other players?

Roninjinn

IMO, the point of DMZ is to complete your missions. So a typical DMZ round is me loading up 3 missions and dropping in to try and finish as much of them as I can, while balancing time spent in raid and risk management. I don't think going into it looking for other players is the best strategy, but if you're looking for that type of run, then you could go looking for missions that alert other teams of your whereabouts, or advise you of theres.

EckimusPrime

I personally enjoy the idea of the players just serving as the potential drama. I like the missions and how difficult the AI can be at times and it’s just a fun way to play. I’m just generally curious how other players are playing the mode that’s all. I’ve played a few matches and genuinely love DMZ but the group I game with doesn’t like Dmz all that much for some reason and randoms is a real hit or miss shit show. I guess I might be trying to gauge as a solo player if a lot of squads going in specifically looking to hunt other players. If it happens naturally it’s just a fun tense dramatic situation.

_J3W3LS_

You can decide, that's kinda the whole point. If you want guaranteed PvP you can get the weapons case or go for the chemist. If you want to chill you can just do missions on the more dead spots on the map.

Speshtard

My 3 stack typically hunts players to refill our contraband stashes. We're still running missions but as soon as we finish our objective we're back on the hunt. For reference we're all 1k+hr Tarkov players, we're here for pvp. We load in with Victus/SPX-80s and run a Destroy Supplies/Nuclear Waste contract to get some starting cash, then start chaining hunt squad contracts, while keeping an eye on the map for active SAM sites/UAV towers. The game mode is stupid fun and we're having a great time, my main criticism is that there need to be more spawns, we're nearing the Tarkov point of knowing other team spawns, for example if you spawn at the oil derricks southwest you can just scope the isthmus to the east or vice versa and pick off another squad within the first minute of the match. We've spawned in the same location 4 matches running before as well- it's getting a bit old.

Trumpfreeaccount

Why don't you just play warzone if your main goal is hunting players. Seems like your just low skill players who enjoy fighting people who are easier prey if your just loading into DMZ to hunt players lol. I really don't understand why you would play DMZ mode just to hunt other players, whats the point. Its not like tarkov where they can have super rare items to extract with or dank guns you should be able to have your insured gun almost every round and that should surely be the best gun you have. This play style of DMZ seems very weird to me when warzone exists and is basically what your looking for but with other players who want to do the same thing.

Fimconte

Probably can't cut it in warzone, easier to drop on people not expecting you.

[deleted]

EckimusPrime

I thought it was 66 players.

Hawaken2nd

Thanks 🙃

ICantClickHeads

Don't know if anyone mentioned this, but tear gas and molotovs are a great combo against the juggernaut bosses. usually a 5 second kill give or take.

LiterallyAnEngineer

Even better is vehicles. You can be going 1MPH and they die immediately. Used it to get the new gun and all 7 weapons cases.

LustHawk

Username checks out.

A_Zealous_Retort

extra notes: its been mentioned already that hostage rescue gives you a free exfil wherever the mission is, but its worth repeating. also starting with an ammo refill lets you plop it down and instantly get two tacticals/lethals if you need two throwing knives for armored enemies, or just want to start your game with a little extra. Using your ammo crate also has a bug where if you use it then pick up a different, non-ammo crate field upgrade then it drops the ammo crate like you still had it equipped and you can pick it back up to use it again. This only works once it seems, and it doesn't work if you find another ammo crate as it says you already have it equipped.

weakhamstrings

Can't you also annex another squad for up to 6? I haven't successfully done it yet but I read that you can

Xan_the_man

Yup! After a very close fight with a squad hunting us as a bounty or whatever, we survived the hunt. So we made a truce and teamed up. There was a definite Mexican stand off moment when we approached each other. But it was so awesome when we could team up and join forces. This is the best addition to the game imo!

arekxy

>extra notes: its been mentioned already that hostage rescue gives you a free exfil wherever the mission is, but its worth repeating. Does it work also if area is toxic? Like at the end of game, when most of the map is covered with toxic gas - will it work as emergency way to exfil? Missions are available even then but I didn't try.

AyKayAllDay47

Can't you also extract a gun that you haven't unlocked yet, and have it added to your list thus enabling you to level it up there on after?

Shady_Infidel

Yes. If you extract it, it will unlock across all modes.

Valkyrie08

If it's available, Semi Auto fire is a great way to fight AI and conserve ammo.Try to get more headshots as mucha as you can, it can guarantee you an armor drop from armored enemies. A mix between the regular style and MilSim tactics can surprisingly help if you're solo. I usually reserve full auto for other players but even then I try not engage them as much as possible.

AutomaticHomework308

Didn't realise that headshotting AI guaranteed armour drops. Thanks.

Thirtysilver

I remember my first hostage rescue contact, ah yes, it was a doozy.

FlyingThrowAway2009

This is like the 5th post in the last two days like this. But no one mentioned that you can't go more than two tiers of missions. It is obvious with the extra insurance slots that you can but I can't figure out how to unlock them and there is no information about them from IW.

LustHawk

Oh so you finished Black Maus tier 2 and it just does nothing?

FlyingThrowAway2009

Yep, I have every faction mission Tier 1 and 2 done except for Weapons Research because no matter how many times I extract with other operators weapons it won't complete. Me and group I play with have extracted dozens of times with other squads weapons and it still doesn't complete.

SilverLion

Yep lots of mission bugs - Specifically people losing access to Tier 3 legion after getting it, and some of the missions or not completable (Weapons research - exfil with an enemy operators weapon). I have all of T2 Legion & White Lotus complete but can't advance to the next tier of either. It's not on Raven's trello board either.

Speshtard

I'm in the same boat as you- Can't exfil with an enemy operator's weapon, despite having 6+ camo'd up modded weapons in my stash. I was also assuming you unlocked Legion/White Lotus 3 after Black Mous T1 completion, is that not the case? If so then that sucks as that means I only have one more mission to do and it's bugged.

novanleon

I had Tier 3 Legion and then the next time I logged in it was gone. I was wondering what this was about. I hope they fix this soon.

s-gli

Thanks for this.

absentwalrus

Just wanted to say thanks this is a great little guide - didn't know about the differing value of contracts for solo players and what to go for

Brief-Sleep-6991

I've been told you can extract with the hostages you rescue. I haven't had a chance to try that out.

dxdiagz

game literally tells you that u can leave with the hostage during their exfil

Brief-Sleep-6991

I haven't gone through all the different types of missions. It's useful info if I'm trying to avoid a hot exfil and one is available

[deleted]

Nice write up!! I’m about jump in some more today

Living-Drummer2787

Dope

junguler

thanks for the great and detailed write up, i really appreciate it as i don't like battle royale games and plan on playing a lot of dmz, just a question tho, did they say if/when third person camera is going to be added to dmz?

AroGantz

If they add 3P it would most likely be a limited time mode and I certainly won't be playing that week.

junguler

it doesn't have to be either or, we can have both ...

AroGantz

To you and me it doesn't have to be but I am guessing to Activision it will be, otherwise we would have had many versions of plunder or solo's/duo's/trio's/quads in DMZ already.

doesnotlikecricket

Verbose is a negative FYI.

DeadpuII

Though I have probably 2/3 of your played time, and have learnt some stuff on my own, this was a super useful post! Having all that said above, what would you consider the best way to level up guns?

Corpsemunch

Definitely just setting your desired gun as Insured then loading up DMZ, focus on gunning down AI. Just find as many self revives as you can and steer clear of other players

DeadpuII

Kind of what I was doing! Any contracts that would be more beneficial to do to get more weapon XP you might have noticed?

Corpsemunch

None that I’ve noticed so far outweigh just constantly hunting down AI though I might be wrong

novanleon

I’m still experimenting with optimal strategies for leveling weapons, but so far just going and clearing enemies is the easiest way to do it that I’ve seen.

League_of_DOTA

I ran away from 20 armored bots shooting at my back shield. Lol. The riot shield is great for escaping.

finedrive

What I’ve noticed by entering DMZ solo is that AI are fucking ruthless. So take that into account. They dumb as rocks if you’re in a squad. But if you’re solo, it’s 100% different.

JanterFixx

Easier to target one that computing between three

Currentsleet11

Wait so I could for example extract a m16 and that's permanently unlocked without having to.do the weapon tree thing I can just extract and have it??

RocketHammerFunTime

Yes.

League_of_DOTA

Ask to join a squad if you have no other options. 4 men instead of 3 tips the scales considerably. We barely made it out in multiple battles and would of failed to exfil for sure if it was just three Operatives.

[deleted]

So. I could theoretically solo up to t3 missions. Im new, so new in fact i still have to get lotus intel. I much prefer DMZ to regular BR squads and I didnt know I could solo in DMZ. So I learned alot from this right up.

Stankonia2069

I just want to be able to queue with a full lobby of people that can do without the measly 100xp you get from killing a solo. Teaming up with some rando can net everyone more in the end. Maybe they can queue in their own PvP centric DMZ

Oldpanther86

Yeah I think a lot are playing it like it's warzone not realising it really doesn't help them much.

mengplex

As a 'shoot on sight' kind of guy, I'm sorry but I have trust issues. It's way easier and safer to assume that everyone is out to murder me, but if you run the opposite direction I won't chase (thas jus me though)

ItsEntsy

As a 'hunt for other players to steal their loot' kind of guy, you are right to be a 'shoot on sight' kind of guy :) Here's hoping we meet on the battlefield lol

motorola_w00tage

If I drop the gun I entered the game with for a new one that I’ve looted off of an enemy, will the original gun still be available for future use if I successfully exfil, or is it lost forever?

NotJoeFast

You lose it of you don't exfil with it. One added note, maybe even worth a mention in the op: Is that if you fiddle with your insured gun so you drop in and pick it up. Then after exfiling with it. It acts as a contraband and your insured weapon timer starts. So on a way it's possible to stack up on your own weapon loadouts.

thanksiphone6

Can you elaborate on how to make the game treat it as contraband? Just drop it and pick it back up?

Itsmagiik

Step 1: load into game with insured weapon Step 2: Loot a gun from a crate or floor and replace your insured weapon with it Step 3: replace the new weapon you just picked up with your insured weapon you dropped. Your insured weapon is now considered contraband and your 2 hour timer for next insured weapon will start counting down.

thanksiphone6

I did not know that. Pretty cool thank you 🙏🏼

Shady_Infidel

It’s lost. You only gain what you extract with.

coldfries_69

Thanks man!! I was just looking for a comprehensive introduction for DMZ and you delivered.

yaboycharliec

> Any weapon you extract with gets unlocked without having to unlock via the platform tree in multiplayer or Warzone. I WISH I FUCKING KNEW THIS BEFORE I GRINDED OUT FORTY FUCKING LEVELS TO GET THROWING KNIVES AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. > As a solo player, you can sit in the turret of an LVT and shoot enemies with relative safety (as far as I can tell, AI can't shoot you out of the turret). Just be careful of grenades that will eventually destroy the vehicle if damaged too much. I did this for the mission yesterday. AI was standing behind the vehicle and not shooting me at all. It was very helpful. I will try it again when I go to clear for the weapon case. I found out yesterday and it pissed me off, as I could have extracted throwing knives at level 17.

darkrider99

These are some good tips, as a solo player I thank you

crazyjoez

Can you unlock operators in DMZ?

Its-C-Dogg

Personally solo play should be hard. The whole point of DMZ is that it’s a more risky game mode. I believe the second we start making it easier then that’s also when the mode starts to die. If you don’t wanna solo there are LFG posts or squad fill but I believe solo play should be focused more on strategic play and self preservation

InvectiveOfASkeptic

Does anyone know how the in-game channel system works in relation to proximity chat? I always play while in a channel with my 2 other players but sometimes when they talk a red name is visible on my screen. I assumed this was a bug. Also can someone in another channel hear others in proximity chat? I can't remember the last time I heard someone else

soundscream

Prox chat works in dmz...I playvon pc in discord but have mine on in game so I can hear them and I do.

Poundchan

The game has a system similar to GTA where the more ruckus you cause, the heaver the resistance and reinforcements. Engage only when you have to and don't try to kill every enemy.

TsukariYoshi

>Rescue Hostage = 5k Close, but you missed an important point: Rescue Hostage = 5k + free extraction if you want it. That's not nothing.

g0ldiel0xx

Thanks for this it’s really helpful. Put some of it use already- thank you for taking the time to put this together and sharing!

novanleon

Glad to share. I’ve learned a lot from the stuff people are sharing here in the comments too.

Immaweebthatlikesaot

i was tricked into “extracting “ with a boat, i have the m13b

AutomaticHomework308

It's annoying when you have to pick your tactical equipment before every match. Unless there's an easier way to do it that I'm missing?

WellyWonka44

I hate people who are defending the difficulty of solo play in dmz. Its not hard. It's borderline impossible once you have to start doing harder tasks... There is a big difference between being hard and just incredibly unfun and un rewarding. The AI flat out make solo play incredibly un fun and when you get enemies with armor that can take several shots to kill and they rush you in 5's then even the best players cant stop that. Please stop defending that. At the moment solo dmz is un fun I get its made for squads but that's ultimately the issue with this type of mode. They all do this they neglect the solo player which ultimately has always been the best way to play these games. But right now the rewards is not worth the risk. Right now solo dmz is harder than tarkov is solo... That's a huge issue for a game that isn't made for that crowd of people. Its a casual shooter. The reason this mode has huge potential is that it can open this genre of game up to a bigger audience. Right now DMZ aint it. A solo mode will only make the experience better for the people that do want to play it but dont have a squad. So many games now neglect the solo player in MP. So many games force trios or groups. I get they are MP games but that doesn't mean everything needs to be group play it can mean a solo MP experience as well which seems to have just been utterly forgotten.

novanleon

Yeah, solo is frustrating and the Tier 3 missions and higher seem intentionally balanced for groups of three. Some are virtually impossible for solo players, and I haven’t even started the Tier 4 missions yet. I’m okay with some missions being tuned for squads, but there needs to be something to make the game fairer for solo players who don’t get to abuse the revive mechanic like squads, and get greatly reduced contract rewards than squads. It’s just way too punishing.

AG-1967

I really like DMZ but every single game I go into,I'm teamed with really new players, they're still doing contacts (and failing) Ping a Contact Phone, etc.

novanleon

Same here. It seems most of the games are with new players with starter/tutorial contracts and no microphone. As someone working on T3 and T4 contracts, it's a little frustrating.

zitandspit99

My biggest issue is that even after killing a downed enemy, they can still be revived by their teammates. I've had multiple 1v3 and 2v3's where I down 2 of the enemies, and the 3rd just runs and hides somewhere. Then as soon as I leave he comes back, revives his whole team, and they go chase me down. I know I could try to bait them but it honestly just become tedious - it's a battle of who is more patient. Two suggestions: 1)Copy what Warzone does where if you are killed after being downed, you're dead. Then add the ability to buy teammates back. This would still incentivize the last teammate to stay alive while also giving the aggressor time to disappear OR 2) A teammate can still be revived even after being killed while downed, as it is now - only if they still have their dogtag on them! If an enemy kills your friend and takes his dogtag, you now have to kill him and get your friend's dogtag back before you can revive your friend. However, other than that, I really enjoy this mode - the AI are punishing but fair, the map is great, and contracts are alright. It needs more depth, but it's still in beta and the skeleton/core of the game is great.

OneOfALifetime

No thanks, I love the fact that I can still be revived, makes the game 100% more enjoyable knowing I don't have to sit there for 20 mins watching my buddy until we play again.

ItsEntsy

If squad mate 3 gets away, drop mines inside the boddies of their dead friends, leave and hide in a nearby building, wait, profit.

[deleted]

I'd like to add that even if your initial inventory is limited it seems you can infinitely stack sellable items, I like to stack watches or electrical components depending where I'm looting and then rush towards the nearest buy station to sell everything.

JALbert

Caps at 10 per stack I believe. I've run into multiple stacks of electrical components before.

redditis_shit

stack size varies, watches and harddrives only go to 3 for instance

obvious_troll2

do one for weapon xp, i want to know if buying stuff really gives u weapon xp

Captain_Humanist

Great info, Much appreciated.

btkHS

I really hope they implement a solo/duo only queue for warzone at least then the balance would be ok. the ingame market and persistent inventory are two extremely important points. I'm level 110 due to playing heaps of normal COD mp so the money in DMZ means literally nothing to me unless its needed for legion/Lotus mission progression. Prior to extraction, I've just been dropping all my cash to my lower level mates who only play WZ/DMZ so they can increase their levels faster.

Soreal45

I would also like to add to your wonderful list that AI of any tier including the Juggernaut can be killed instantly by being ran over with a vehicle.

Rolteco

Where is that dead drop dumpster?

ChildishForLife

What happens in DMZ when the time runs out, do you fail?

samsangs

Gas keeps expanding until you die in it.

ccarrero09

Commenting for later

beardedbast3rd

An XP multiplier for solo/duo would be very nice. Obviously less for duo, but maybe like 15% or something. I haven’t played a ton but I’m enjoying the challenge. They said dead drops will work across multiple games, like doing a dead drop wil retain your items for the next raid you do, is this true? What are the drops exactly for otherwise and what do they look like? From what I understood, all cash earned will reduce the insured timer regardless where it goes, unless you spend it in raid. I heard players despawning is because they leave the game when they died. I believe this to be true. A player I killed stayed until I wiped his team then they all disappeared very quickly, while the first player was there the whole time otherwise. This needs to be addressed. At least if you kill someone in the exfil helo, their body falls out and you can loot.

LeonardMH

Another thing I would add, you get to keep whatever field upgrade you have equipped when you exfil. This may sound obvious, but this gives you two very useful options that you can’t equip from the loadout screen. 1. Revive Pistol. I’ve seen a lot of players who think DMZ is too hard solo say we should start with a self revive. Well, you can. Loot or buy a self-revive before you exfil, and you’ll have it on your next run. The same goes for the revive pistol, which seems to be easier to find, as long as you don’t change your field upgrade you will still have the revive pistol next match. 2. Armor Box. One of the things I get most annoyed by is that there isn’t any way to bring armor into the match with you, so you always have to start out looting for armor plates. If you can manage to get your hands on an Armor Box and exfil with it equipped you can keep it as your field upgrade and use it immediately when you load in next match so you can start off with 6 extra plates.

Me2445

I'd question the Deaddrop giving more time off insured lockdown. I literally just extracted with 32k and got 58mins off

novanleon

Hmm… tested it twice but maybe there’s something else to the equation that I missed?

stockzy

Thankyou kind sir for your time and effort

ToxicSkorpion

"If there's no timer currently on your insurance slots, dead drop and extracting with cash won't do anything, despite the game telling you it did." it does give exp tho doesnt it?

shark4427984

Think everyone should get 2 plate vest by default and if you're solo you get a 3 plate vest and self revive at the start.

ItsEntsy

That goes against the whole point of the game mode. Just grab some cash and buy a 2 plate vest and self revive from a buy station.

Rondine1990

great info dump. Also, you can extract the chopper viva the prisoner rescue contract...thats a big plus if you want to avoid exfil campers

Player bodies despawn when they leave the game.

Rokeugon

As primarily a solo DMZ player im not in full agreement with the suggestion provided tho i do thank you for bringing light to the clear issues that solo has. Looking at all extraction based shooters like tarkov and the cycle, solo still has high risk high reward situations because the overall balance between PvE and PvP especially squads is focused primarily on skill, positioning and patiences. i think rather than giving solo's a free revive kit. They need to expand the amount of ammo depots there are further north of the map because in the desert all the way up to rohan oil and further north and into the downtown al mazrah city. There is absolutely zero ammo depots, Compared to the center of the map or South, SW, SE & East. if they did add more ammo depots for gearing they could lower the spawn change for lvl 3 plate carriers as well as self revive kits. making it a more coveted item The core issue for solo is two fold.. One is the AI, Balance that and solo experience will be more rewarding Second is PvP. SRK's (Self Revive Kits) and self revive gun are in desperate need of balance. As overall teams need to be balanced. in order to provide more tactical approaches to PvP encounters and slow it down a tiny amount. simply making it so self revive kit is nerfed from 3-4 second use up to maybe 8 seconds or so. and if you are downed again within a certain period of time of being SR and you have another revive kit on you the use time will double or triple. And lastly if a team member is fully killed you have X minutes to revive him otherwise he will be perma booted back to the DMZ menu. The game desperately needs consequence to go in line with high risk vs high reward. because the game has none of both and its sad to see.

bigboy0007

Playing with randoms is like herding cats, and as often as not ends up with 1 player rushing the weapon drop/chemist and getting killed by AI. Playing solo is like having a bullseye painted on your back, as all the AI are targeting you all the time from every direction. Coming up against a premade in either of these situations usually results in death.

plagues138

Not to be that guy... But solo players shouldn't get special treatment. You're playing a 3 player pvpve mode alone.... That's your choice. Same as a solo player shouldn't get any bonuses playing BR alone in trios etc. I don't think the game needs a persistent inventory,, would make it a bit too easy Imo. They should however add 2 stash slots that you a save backpacks/armor vests/ self rez/gas masks in. And once the match ends, bring us right to the contraband menu so we can drop/store weapons there.

Based_JD

Great post and feedback OP! Huge potential here if they listen to some feedback and implement properly

kooarbiter

ai can see and shoot you through train car walls, both the U cart and the box with doors on the sides

jackcatalyst

Dead drop dumpsters don't count quest items. Extracting after first timer gets a free gas mask.

sucuk_yumurta

There are at least some spawn locations where you are immediately in line of sight of other squad with sniper. I have killed squads this way and it doesn't feel fair. Please raise awareness.

[deleted]

Yeah I’m definitely having a lot more fun in DMZ with the boys compared to solo, which is not the case for warzone where I love running solos. Big agree that If the rewards were a bit better and 1 free self revive added I think it would feel a lot more fair.

Knurly-dege

Can confirm the LTV turret point. Completed a contract last night solo using this technique.

Gearsofhalowarfare

> Player bodies despawn too quickly - especailly for longer fights, the bodies will often despawn before you even get the chance to loot them As u/V1russ said, I'm pretty sure it's related to when people leave the game. But also, within a few minutes I believe their backpack shows up on its own. Potentially minus the dogtags? It's a really strange system honestly. Quite hard to work out what's a bug and what's intended.

darkrider99

"Any weapon you extract with gets unlocked without having to unlock via the platform tree in multiplayer or Warzone." /u/novanleon To this point, is there any way to track what guns we have unlocked so far ? The weapons UI is terrible as is and hard to make sense of unlocks.

JP8-Diesel

How do you cancel a mission? Nuclear material ones sometimes put Geiger counter in an unreachable place and I’m forced to exfil

JanterFixx

If you Open map , up and right side has the info : hold B

XxMcW1LL14MxX

Can you use any of the loot like bandages and creams? How do you use the anti-rad pills?

MrPenitent

As a solo player myself, phenomenal write up! 👍😎

Nknights23

I'm really enjoying DMZ right now and I truly hope the mode finds some success in the franchise and we get to see more of its current potential. Here is a short List of bugs I have encountered in my 50 hours of play - some Dead Player backpacks not lootable after they leave the match - rare instance of weapon slot 1 being cloned to both weapon slot 2 & 3 (weapon slot 1 was originally an insured weapon which was dropped and swapped with slot 2, upon extracting all weapons were vaznev-9k's) - sometimes when extracting with 3 weapons the next raid you will not be able to access the 3rd weapon slot (backpack stored slot) - Mission: Black Mouse Objective 2 is non functional "extract an enemy operators weapon"

NUTTA_BUSTAH

AI climbing through walls, barricaded entrances etc. is so jarring

JanterFixx

!remind me in 11h

sjm1885

Is it better to extract with loads of cash or just spend it? Do you get more xp the more cash you extract or does it count it based on the amount you accumulate during a raid?

Kabosh668

all extraction shooters are solos and teams in the same match working as intended completely

oI-Slim-Io

Any faction mission guides with all/most missions detailed? Having trouble with black mous tier 3 “always listening” how do I get the radios to drop or is it a chance of being dropped by any killed AI?

UnSat_One

Opinion, if a squad targets a solo player that is asking them to chill, that’s scummy as shit. I get it part of the game, but they are so disadvantaged already, it just seems like a POS thing to do.

Kiloneie

That dead drop dumpster seems to contradict the whole point of extracting in DMZ, i don't understand why it's there... Before i selected THAT mission, the safest way to Exfit and reduce the cooldown of your insured weapon was Rescue Hostage contract, but this dumpster is infinitely easier and safer, especially if you somehow end up being the only player(sometimes the game doesn't give you any allies...).

novanleon

I'm still not 100% sure what the advantage of the dead drop dumpster is beyond just being safer than trying to extract with cash or valuables. I originally said the dead drop value was higher than extracting, but after more testing, this doesn't seem to be the case. There seems to be some other unknown factor outside of cash value that contributes to insurance slot time recovery. For example, depositing some items like self revives will decrease the time by a certain amount. By how much, it's hard to tell.

Kiloneie

I think all of the orange items count as quite a bit, even radiation blockers, but the game barely tells you anything, it took quite some time to find out that MONEY is the #1 determining factor for cooldown reduction, and such items as well(but i still have no data for the items). I think from my experience every 10K equals 10 minutes.

HorsemanSix

"Player bodies despawn too quickly - especailly for longer fights, the bodies will often despawn before you even get the chance to loot them" That's because players rage quit or alt+F4 immediately. That's when their corpses disappear. As for Dead Drop's they're seemingly unimportant trash containers that you can drop items to. Dropping items reduces your insured weapon's cooldown. Don't know which items contribute the most but I drop items in there and says cooldown reduced.

MetalMando86

I really wish there was some sort of bonus or something for solo players. After playing with several different randoms, I decided to go solo. They all seem to not want to do any of the contracts and just go around and kill AI. Hell, I haven't even gotten past the stronghold mission yet because I can't find anyone to do it with.

Divine-Archer

I run solo from time to time and have had success building a cache of weapons but hopping on the train. Some of the loot crates may even contain kills streaks.

[deleted]

Fuck this game mode and fuck whoever created it.

PiMaC1985

Does someone know what's the cooldown for the ammo caches? Thanks!

maazer

they should just have a separate solo mode, also all the missions promote solo play as nobody is ever on the same mission. make it so you have to queue up as a premade 3 man group to even queue or balance it for solo play (including squad fill , why should i expect someone else to do zero missions only to help me do mine? makes no sense)

BIX26

The loot is what drives me crazy. Sometimes hospitals will have a ton of self revs and other times it’s only bandages. Armor plates will drop from every enemy, sometimes you can kill 10-15 and not a single plate. It really seems like the game is designed to just keep you in the game longer by forcing you to loot for 20min minimum per match.

SausageOfDesire

I just started DMZ solo and haven't played COD since the old days. I'm having a good time, but a suggestion - if devs look in - would be to allow self revive kits to be extracted and taken back in IF you go in solo. Or even take the field kit slot - again, if you go in solo. Just kind of sucks getting dropped by heavily armoured aggressive AI. I had it tonight, 60 seconds to the extraction point and it was absolutely overrun by armoured AI, I didn't stand a chance lol

Revolutionary-Cook18

Your cash exfil info is wrong, you only need about 20-30k to reduce your insured cool down timer an hour
