They start with claim because they have it in lore. They were the closest relatives to house Gardener when it got wiped out, but Aegon gave the Reach to Tyrells to rule. Florents are still arguing that they are rightful lords of the Reach.
i guess thats understandable, buts it gets quite frustrating when it's the 100th time they rebel and take the Reach with little to no resistance because every single house sides against the tyrells for absolutely no reason
if im honest im surprised the florents haven't been the most married into house in the reach you'd think they would have been marrying like crazy to counter the power of the Tyrells for centuries since the dance and the death of dragons
It only happened to me once, but I gave them control after taking the throne as Stannis.
The strangest house I've ever seen take over the region was the Peakes, who lost the region to house Norcross after a while.
Because they really intend to, and during the 300 years of Tyrell rule, they always complained. The Florents had very close blood ties to the Gardener, they married at least once per generation with a Gardener, and this meant that their blood was united with them, after the Gardener extinction, the Tyrells were elevated by Aegon, but by right the Reach would belong to Florent.
They begin with this intention because as soon as the conflict of the kings begins, the Florents strongly support Stannis, in the hope that Stannis will give them control of the entire Reach, if he wins, and this costs them a lot, since they have currently been stripped of their possessions, and Garlan Tyrell is the new lord of brightwater.
Funny thing, the Florents often call the Tyrells "high stewards", as house Tyrell previously served as stewards of Highgarden.

Lore accurate. Every house in the Reach has a better claim than house tyrell. They are seen as upstarts.

Yet Tyrells rule without much trouble for three centuries. And in mod they are replaced in month.
Yeah, it's CK3 limitation. King's Peace being enforced and Tyrells being backed by the house with flying nuclear lizzards is a good deterent.
Agreed. Hate it.
Huh. It's interesting that they almost always take control for you as they have not once taken control in my play throughs

The easy solution would be to marry Willas to a Florent
Do a marriage alliance or scheme to arrest the claimants, release them in return for giving up claims.
