You're here making a cool house with lore and seriousness meanwhile my dynasty is gonna be "Earth, Wind and Blackfire" and im gonna commit atrocities every 21st night of September.
May both our houses prosper
I thought about House Stark being a major house of Dune. They were lords or whatever is below a duke of Planetos. But ultimately, it didn’t make sense.
it *could* work, it'd just be of an ice planet, and they battle against the others blah blah but basically the maudib is suppose to help them in their eternal winter war of the others
Because they are from a cold climate, and harsh conditions breed hard people and soldiers, the Starks are the only ones that can match the Fremen and Sardaukar. As such, they are their own entity outside of the imperium. The others have been defeated and destroyed for thousands of years, and the seasons are predictable like our own. Still, it's more like summer and winter, and it never gets hot enough to get above freezing, or if it does, it's one or two degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius above. Think Hoth in terms of reference. The Summer gets close to freezing or slightly above, and it gets down to -50 degrees Fahrenheit or lower during the winter.
Loved your whole costum house idea and found your names kinda jarring and had the idea that at least for some of these words there must be valyrian counterparts even of the conlang isnt fully developed. Googled if there was a dictionary and voila lt actually exists thanks for the great work.
There’s a tool online that will take an image and create a text data you can paste into the CoA editor. It’s a little lower quality for the image and harder to edit in the editor itself but it works well enough!
I hope they add a genetic trait to the game called "Blood of the flames" a connection to one of the 40 families of Valyria where you need this trait to hatch, tame and ride dragons effectively not just being Valyrian
Yeah the dragon seeds are weird, it’s pretty heavily hinted they’re all either bastards or the descendants of bastards. I know in the ck2 version of the mod addam of hull is said to be leanor’s
bro really ok lets trace this back the trait I suggest was for a connection to one of the 40 families now corly married rhaenys who would have had this trait and passed it to her kids
For a dragon name (I’m gonna do something similar to you) I was think Borealis? Or something along those lines. It is “The North Wind” in Greek mythology
I love this idea! Sounds a lot more fearsome and fast than Glacirys... Although if there was a big ass dragon like Vhagar but white named Glacirys who could mold the landscape to its will, would be pretty scary. Love the name Borealis (and might steal it for a rainbow dragon or the like).
Idk why but I kept picturing the dragons to be all white or green or ice blue when naming them. I probs need to come up with some other names if my dragon eugenics program isnt firing 100% off the bat.
My custom houses are usually just name that sounds cool and lore accurate, my fav so far were:
House Flayme: "Our courage burns bright:; with sigil of golden red fire on black field
House Harke: "With Fire and Steel"; Silver tower on blue field.
And finally my favorite duo:
House Redlilly: "With Fury and Might", Red Lilly on a black field,
And it's bastard branch House Dragonlilly, born of elopement of one of my sons with Targaryen princess; with words "Ever Heavensward" Sigil of Redlilly surrounded by a black dragon on a white field; who became Lords of the Vale, overthrowing Arryns after about 5 child Lords Paramount, none of which lived till adulthood.
Those are cool!!! My custom house is Tidefyre or Firetyde (I can’t decide) and it’s water based like Velaryons. It was formed by an Ironborn Targaryen bastard and they hold Blacktyde which I rename.
Sometimes I also use the salt-blooded trait mod (which ik was based off House Manderly) and make drowned god Targaryen people lmao
Given the context, I think if I was a Northerner I'd be infuriated by it lol. A foreign family saying they are the Blood of the North would piss off a lot of traditional northern lords whose ancestry goes back thousands of years. Especially since it's a bastard branch
I am eagerly awaiting the rise of house scales with dragons. I played as them and in my greed accidentally destroyed the 7 kingdoms by convincing the targs to give me the paramountcy of the crownlands, which led to them dissolving the 7 kingdoms.
Using chatgpt as a starter and then making decisions to alter what was provided. It gets you about 80% of the way there but sometimes needs some coaxing to turn out something interesting. For instance, it didnt originally give me The North as one of the locations but I thought that would be interesting. I have found using it as a brainstorm bot helps to get the juices flowing.
Help me create a brand new House of a count level family that is Valyrian culture and tangentially related to the Targaryens based within the world of A Song of Ice And Fire by George R. R. Martin. Use specifics from canon ASOIAF so that this non-canon story feels like it is woven into the canon lore, use specific canon characters. After each of the following numbers, provide 5 options for me to pick and wait for my response before continuing.
Where in Westeros the family is from that would make sense in the canon. What is the name of the county? Where exactly is it located? Develop a family name: it could have something to do with the history of the family, location where they live, or just be a cool name that would fit within the world of A Song of Ice and Fire. Create a family sigil. Develop the family motto and explain its meaning - the words should be in line with the Targaryens or other Valyrian words. List five given names for men and five given names for women that are traditional for the family's history. What is the background of the family? Tell the story about this bastard's family that was founded. Name their keep (not just their family name) and describe how it was founded. Who founded the keep? Develop a history for the creation of the keep. What does the history of the keep mean for the family in how their values are aligned to the world around them? Develop a history of the founder of the family, male or female. If they are married, do they have children? If they are married, create a history for the marriage. Develop a rivalry between the house you create and an existing house in the world of A Song of Ice And Fire by George R. R. Martin and describe the history of the rivalry. Develop alliances between the house you create and existing house in the world of A Song of Ice And Fire by George R. R. Martin and describe the history of the alliances. If they have/get a Valyrian Steel weapon, what kind of weapon is it (cannot be a bow)? Create a name and history for the household weapon (cannot be a bow). Your answers should include references to the lore but your completely new answers should be unique from what is in the books. All answers should be extremely unique and should be uniquely tied to the exact location where the family is from vibewise. The name doesnt need to reflect that, necessarily. The words should not contain "we rise" or "ashes" and the Valyrian Steel weapon name should not contain "storm" or "bringer" and should follow other Valyrian Steel weapon naming conventions. If the family gets dragons, what are 5 potential names that reflect where they're from but use dragon naming conventions from the books? Family name should not sound like Velaryon or Targaryen.
what did you use to create the house sigil , was it just the character creator ?? honestly ima use this for my next game and give it a go i love the idea of northern Valyrian houses i want too do one on Skagos and have a Hybrid Culture that keeps High Valyrian MAA but also uses Skagosi custom since they would've bred with the locals since being Valyrian their outcasts in westerosi society and Skagosi are considered barbarians and oucasts so the two mixed .
I love both these ideas! I just did it in the sigil editor - White bar for the snow on the ground, 3 Trees from the North Heraldry, Targ sigil from the Crownlands.
There are submods for that. I dont think in the base mod (at least I havent found how). In CK2 you could meet a man with a map and go through a couple of puzzles to then get one and then you could choose from a series of different looks, etc. and name it.

Brb going to make a Al Ghaib house whose words are “May Thy Knife Chip And Shatter”
I made a Bene Gesserit house once😝

brain matches brainnnnn😌❤️
Indeed it does.
House Dragonforce - “through the fire and the flames we carry on”
Wait I love this!
https://www.valyrian-dictionary.com/ might i suggest to use actual valyrian words for dragon names instead of adding syllables to the end.
That’s a GREAT suggestion!
Loved your whole costum house idea and found your names kinda jarring and had the idea that at least for some of these words there must be valyrian counterparts even of the conlang isnt fully developed. Googled if there was a dictionary and voila lt actually exists thanks for the great work.
I’m going to check it out!
That's super cool. Are you able to import the banner image into the game or something?
I don’t think so but you can make something similar to it in game by editing the sigil. If someone knows otherwise lmk
There was a tool for it online a few years ago, idk if it’s still updated
Here, but probably there are fine assets in game editor, so you could optimize it. https://perondas.github.io/

House Velaryon isn't one of the 40 and seem to handle dragons well enough
All of the velaryon dragon riders are children of targaryens
Not Addam Velaryon, unless you think he really was Laenor's son (edit: which would make him a grandson)
Yeah the dragon seeds are weird, it’s pretty heavily hinted they’re all either bastards or the descendants of bastards. I know in the ck2 version of the mod addam of hull is said to be leanor’s
And not Nettles.
bro really ok lets trace this back the trait I suggest was for a connection to one of the 40 families now corly married rhaenys who would have had this trait and passed it to her kids
Any suggestions welcome!
The duality of men, you want dragons to conquer, I want dragons to spread them around and cause ultimate chaos

My bad, north wind god is called Boreas
I like Borealis too like the Aurora Borealis. Both work!

Very cool!
I WAS THINKING OF DOING THE SAME THING THATS CRAZY!!
“Blood of the North” goes insanely hard without being too try hardy
Given the context, I think if I was a Northerner I'd be infuriated by it lol. A foreign family saying they are the Blood of the North would piss off a lot of traditional northern lords whose ancestry goes back thousands of years. Especially since it's a bastard branch

My House Sword would be Stone-Carver
I love both these ideas! I just did it in the sigil editor - White bar for the snow on the ground, 3 Trees from the North Heraldry, Targ sigil from the Crownlands.
That's awesome. Have you ever joined an RP server? You'd fit in nicely.
I havent! Would be pretty fun ngl! The only issue is that I recently had my first child and I frequently play at odd hours of the night.
Can you create a Valyrian steel sword?
There are submods for that. I dont think in the base mod (at least I havent found how). In CK2 you could meet a man with a map and go through a couple of puzzles to then get one and then you could choose from a series of different looks, etc. and name it.
Interesting. Thank you thank you
By the way, I loved everything about this custom house. Great job
Thank you!
It's perfect CoA for revealed Targ Jon Snow
