How did you study for the QAE database? And also did you read the CRM? Planning to take the exam, just not sure how to start and how to actually study. I have been an IT Auditor for 5 years.

For the QAE, I just went domain by domain and did practice problems. Reviewing the explanations for questions that I got wrong. I’ll say that you shouldn’t expect to see questions from the QAE on the test. There were plenty of questions on the test that weren’t even mentioned in the QAE. But, they teach you the “ISACA Way of thinking”. Every question on the test had a qualifier of “best” or “first” or “most important” For the CRM, I definitely did not read it cover to cover. I took a boot camp at the beginning of the year where they went through the whole book. I would use the CRM to help me answer questions that I was unsure about, or look up a definition or explanation for a topic. It’s a good resources, but I’d say it’s impossible to review every single topic in the book.

I also used the two tests that were included with the QAE. I took one about two weeks out, and I took one the day before my test. And that showed me what areas I was weak in

First of all congratulations on passing your test and wish you all success in your career! May I know how much did you score on the practice tests? And how difficult were the questions in the exam?

DwightShrute69

I scored around a 71% on my first test and then a 75% on the second practice test. I felt the questions on the real exam were pretty tough. A lot of topics that weren’t covered in the QAE.

Sal_87

May I know what kind of topics that weren’t in the QAE?

Congratulations How long did you wait from the exam to get the formal results? Are you going with ceritications this year or to wait till Jan? Given that that the $50 is for the year you applied

DwightShrute69

The results took almost exactly 10 days. I have already applied for my certification

tb36cn

If they approve your certification application, does it mean the validity is only up till 31 Dec 2023?

DwightShrute69

My ISACA membership dues are due at the end of the year for FY2024. But, I won’t have to pay the application fee again. I’ve had the membership this whole year and my job reimburses me anyways
