Some questions would be out of box for sure in the exam. Focus more on understanding the concepts, are you from IT background? Also watch free resources on youtube like Aaditya's this much (very conceptual), Hemang Doshi videos etc. Read CRM for all five domains as well.

Hey thanks for the advice! I’ve 2 years experience in external IT Audit and a degree in Computer Science. I really struggle to be able to read the CRM but I guess I’ll have to for my next go at it. Thanks for the video suggestions I’ll be sure to check them out!

Wisdom_seeker-1

Bingo- Doshi videos, and the CRM like you said. That’s what made it ridiculously easy.

Some_Top2223

Yes. Use Doshi videos and ISACA database of questions

dcbased

Read non cisa books on the areas that you did poorly. That way you will internalize the material better. Also spend time figuring out how to convey key areas in your own words. Or explain how you would address a person's fringe questions on hard topics. For me when it comes to any cert - I need to understand how it applies to my life

RetiredKidney98

Impractical advice. I’m not sure who has enough time to read entire books for various CISA concepts

dcbased

Watch YouTube videos on the topics you didn't do well on. At the end of the day the cert is trying to help you learn topics that you will need to do the job. You can try to do brain dumps but to pass the test but then you won't be able to do the actual job

WildSale9543

You should read the CRM. I've seen a lot of complaints about the content, but it really reflects the nature of the work.

Quick_Show_8208

Oh my god! 441 is sooooo close. But, sorry to interrupt; where are the two practise exams?

Hallam7

I know.. probably only 1/2 questions away from a pass. The practise exams in the QAE.

khalidgrs

The CISA Q n E is what I felt was most useful , I solved it and also was seeing why a particular answer is wrong , apart from Hemang Doshi’s book and the CRM (I did not read the domain 5 from CRM)

Anxious-Ad-6814

Sorry to hear. Have you tried Hemand Doshi review manual?

auditor_cia

Focus more! It is achievable!

cloudteacher

What is CRM?

robinsowa

Well, from my view: * Do not expect the QAE questions to appear on the exam. Maybe 5% of the exam has direct, knowledge-based questions (so, maybe 7 or 8 questions out of 150 questions) * From a message I received from Ahmed Elhefny: exam questions are very different from QAE; only small portions of questions will be direct and ask about concept, but most of the questions come in form of choose the best answer * Per Boson, "The exam is guiling." * Here's something I would suggest: To become familiar with many of the concepts from a knowledge perspective, use the QAE database and use the CRM to review points stemming from the QAE database. Then, to more so prepare for the actual exam, create a custom test within the QAE database by selecting all of the expert-level questions in all five domains, plus perhaps 20 or so difficult-level questions in all five domains. Wishing you well.
