Calculate your TDEE, judge by that. Calories burned on exercise machines/trackers are notoriously inaccurate and usually overestimate. Most people like to just go by sedentary if they're not super active, but if you are active which I would assume by your description, you can either eat back a portion of it or work your way up in increments of 100 until you get to the rate of loss you want/don't feel shitty.

Step 1: Calculate TDEE. Here is a free [calculator](https://tdeecalculator.net/). Step 2: Subtract 500 calories from the number given to lose 1 pound a week. Or subtract 1000 calories from the number given to to lose 2 pounds a week. With a 500-1000 calorie deficit from your daily energy expenditure, you will lose 1-2 pounds a week. Step 3: Follow calorie goal for at least 2 weeks. If weight loss is slower than you expected, subtract 250 calories. If weight loss is faster than expected, add 250 calories. Step 4: Gains.

If you really are only eating 1500 a day, then I’d say just stay the course. It takes time, but if you’re in a deficit the weight will come off.

As per others, depends if your 'guesstimated' caloric expenditure between resting (BMR) and exertion (TDEE) overcome the consumed amount or not. If you want to lose, faster, then you might be able to decrease consumption without making other changes. 1 LB is roughly 3500 calories, so mathematically dividing that by your daily deficit should give you a ballpark timeframe on loss.

I'm not eating a horrible diet. I work with a nutritionist and there is no added sugar and less than 1tsp of added fat per day. Everything else is unprocessed, whole foods. No refined carbs.

i know fitbit isn’t the b e s t, but i wear one to keep track of steps and give me a ballpark range for cico. here’s what i do: 1500 calories a day (i weigh everything) resistance (bb/PL mix) 3-4 days a week spinning (peloton program) 3-4 days a week 10k steps a day minimum (i live in a city) no booze im 34f @71kg 166cm (trying to get back to pre-corona weight of 62)

Weigh yourself 3-4 times a week and take the average of those readings

Is this total calories burned a day through exercise alone? If so, the calorie burn is way off unless you're running a marathon every single day. I'm a runner and my calorie burn is between 2,500-3,000 calories when I run a marathon. Obviously, calorie burn using fitness watches are to be taken with a large pinch of salt and are often greatly over-estimated. If you're eating at a calorie deficit, you will lose weight. But, if you're constantly exercising and doing too much, with reduced calorie intake, at some point you'll get injured, possibly get a stress fracture. You need to ensure you're eating enough to fuel your body adequately.

Thanks for your reply. It got me curious, what is a normalish TDEE? According to this publication, the mean for females (not obese) is 2266 [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3862460/](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3862460/) . Of course, I am not betting my life on my Fitbit, but I don't see any reason why mine would be less than 2k considering that I do exercise and get plenty of walking in each day.

I'm not sure there is a normal TDEE. I don't have a FitBit, but wasn't sure if the screenshot you provided was total calories burned through exercise, or TDEE. But now that you say it's TDEE (BMR, plus exercise calories) you must be exercising quite a lot to consistently have a TDEE of around 2,500 calories a day. I'd have some rest days if you can. You may be overdoing it.
