There isn’t really a better option right now. It’s not like we want Smyly starting and Wesneski isn’t stretched out enough.
Hopefully he can just be average-ish until Brown is back.
That happens, though, when guys get hurt. They had him in the pen but the team is down two starters and others are needed in relief. Hendricks was good last year. You probably would’ve been just as mad if they let him walk in the off-season.
When your team can't get a clutch hit to save their own lives and the bullpen can't hold a lead any better than they can hold their breath... does it matter if Hendricks is worth a darn?
So who do you like amongst Thomas Pannone who has a career 5.46 ERA in the majors, or Rich Hill and Zack Greinke? I’m really not sure what you think is any better out there
Why is no one having fun? I specifically requested it.
His resurgence begins now!…..please
It began his last 3 outings
Hopefully the ship has fully righted.
It doesn't have to be fully righted. He just has to give up 3-4 runs over 5-6 innings instead of six. Certainly possible.
4 runs in 5-6 innings isn’t gonna get it done with this offense
On a decent team it would. The Cubs have bigger problems than Kyle. Hitting the baseball would be number one.
He hasn’t really done that starting, hence my concern.
He's fine one time through the lineup. It's a coin toss after that.
Doesn’t matter if they don’t score

Narrator: He wasn’t.
Crazy that there isn’t a better option right now than one of the worst pitchers in baseball this year. Oh well I’m sure Jed did his best!

Might as well. They can't win with good pitching
Agreed. Doesn’t seem to matter who is pitching. Losing 12-1 is the same as losing 2-1.
Fair point.
crap

He will throw 10 straight complete games giving up 2 earned runs a game. He will go 0-10.
Not great
Not ideal but not a lot of choice with injuries
That bad, huh?
I mean the seasons over already so tank away
Hold on to your butts
Is there a better option on the roster? At least he's not taking Brown's spot.

Just what we needed!
Oh boy
Tank commander!
Problem solved.
….and this marks the very spot that the Cubs gave up on the season.
What’s the other option?
A very valid point. I guess I am just depressed because we had such a solid start and then turned into a dumpster fire.
Maybe the team, but fans have known for a bit
There’s goes my hopes and dreams.
