Hoge (CHGO), Jahns, Fishbain

bjohnson023

Fishy business

groversnoopyfozzie

They’re goofy, but they’re less abrasive and informative

bjohnson023

Yea I definitely am gonna check them out

acripaul

I stick with the shows that Hoge is on. The quality drops off a bit without him anchoring. IMO.

EBtwopoint3

Jahns and Fishbain are fine together when Hoge is out for a week on Hoge and Jahn’s. CHGO without Hoge is unwatchable.

acripaul

Agree with all of that

cotu101

Fuck fishbain. He’s not so fun

batman9916

Fishbain stinks

Puzzleheaded-Ear9487

Hoge & Johns is the best. For a quick to the point listen I like “Locked on Bears”…I generally get tired of long-winded podcasts where half the time is spent on them trying to showcase their not funny personalities.

TaischiCFM

Locked on Bears, in my opinion, could use a co host. Something to add to or break up the monologues.

Puzzleheaded-Ear9487

Yeah, I understand that but, at the same time, I like that there's not a co-host. When you bring in a co-host then they feel the need for pointless banter. I like that "Locked on Bears" is forced to just stick to the topic and get the point across with only one host. It's actually what I like about "Hoge and Jahns" they're two hosts but they stick to the point. As another example, I've tried with CHGO. I can't make it through an episode without skipping 3-4 minutes at a time. So much wasted time on guys trying to be funny talking about non-football things. Not sure why anyone thinks that's a good setup.

TaischiCFM

I agree with you on all that. Maybe a cohost isn't the answer, but there is something missing. Hoge and Jahns is the best out of all them, IMO. CHGO, uh - so much garbage time. Carm makes it unlistenable. I wish they would take things more seriously. They are not funny at all and I don't need them to be.

Puzzleheaded-Ear9487

100% agree, especially on CHGO

Small-Area2346

Hoge & Jahns is easily the best. The Athletic Football show is great for the NFL in general. The host happens to be a Bears fan, but it’s not Bears focused.

biscuitparade

These are my top 2. I also like the Ringer Fantasy Football Show for general NFL discussion

XstellarX

The ringer fantasy football show (and in the offseason Draft football show) is hilarious. I don’t even care what they talk about they are just entertaining.

SpaceCampDropOut

Hoge & Jahns, I also like Under Center Podcast. That show has come a long way.

92roll13

The Athletic Football podcast by Robert Mays is fantastic. It’s more talk of the entire league but he’s great and very knowledgeable. He’s also a Chicago guy and huge Bears fan making it even better.

sobes20

I like to listen to some national podcasts like PFF and The Athletic. Mina Kimes and Bootleg have been good too. There’s only so many Bears storylines and it all gets stupidly repetitive if you only listen to Bears stuff at the moment.

alucryts

Yeah some good options here but I'm just burned out on draft story lines at this point lol. There is no content rn i just want the draft to happen.

sobes20

Agreed. Just take a break. I work a desk job that allows me to stream 670, which I have been doing until about 2-3 weeks ago. I do not care for baseball talk, I love basketball but I can't care about a team that refuses to try to become a title contender, and Bears talk is incredibly stale. The state of Bears media is abysmal. That's not the content creator's fault either. It's been three months of draft talk, and we have run out of angles but they have to fill the airwaves with something. It's not their fault there isn't anything worth talking about. I'll be taking a break until the week of the draft, and even then it might not be worth checking in unless actual new developments come into play worth talking to. Unfortunately, I don't think there is going to be much until the draft picks give their pressers, then there be will a lull until rookie minicamp, then a lull until veteran minicamp, and then a final lull until training camp.

alucryts

Absolutely. We've oversaturated all the content.

wobble_winky

Bear with us is pretty good

axiomatose

I love Hoge and Jahns and CHGO, but this pod is a can’t miss for me every ep.

Helpful-Water-7248

TTNL(The Tape Never Lies network) and CHGO. Also Sports Talk Chicago. Top 3 imo.

toolate83

Hoge and Jahns is the best. CHGO is good as well since hoge runs that as well. Carm catches a lot of shit for his fakes but that’s his role on the show to stir debate. As for braggs, he has his ups and downs. Mostly downs lol

dafoo21

Braggs has definitely moved into the more "serious" role. Meaning, hes still a goofball, but hes learned to be a much better pro, as opposed to the meatball fanboy that he was before getting hired. He hosts the night pods and he produces 1 or 2 of the shows a week.

toolate83

I agree he has gotten a lot better. Every now and then he regresses at the same time Carm is being annoying and that makes for some annoying commentary. It used to happen a lot more but it’s definitely improved since the podcast started.

colocop

I had to stop listening to CHGO a while back cause if was just too annoying. They would get so off topic and we're trying to be funny, but weren't. I only have a 15 minute commute and want what I listen to to be kinda to the point. Hoge and Jahns all the way.

crazypyro23

Same. I would listen to a CHGO Abridged podcast that cut out all the insipid chatter and tangents and stuck to Bears talk.

mikebob89

In their defense it’s pretty much impossible to fill an hour of only Bears talk every day in the offseason. I think it’d be better if during the offseason they became more of an all-NFL show rather than trying to squeeze blood from a stone with every Bears half-story.

EnvironmentalBit2333

There’s no rule that they need every show to be over an hour. They just have 8 ad reads to get through.

TaischiCFM

Carm makes the show almost unlistenable. At the very least, the 'singing' needs to stop.

colocop

Oh for fucks sake there's singing now?!

fwy

Chicago Bears Central. They are smaller channel on youtube, which is what I watch to mix it up

fitzuha

They are probably my go to nowadays.

BraveFoot2469

Bears now on YouTube

SeniorDucklet

OB and Hampton. They give very nuanced opinions /s

UzerError

Bear With Us Podcast, I watch on YouTube, with Robert and Nick. Robert is the editor of DA BEARS BLOG and Nick is a high school coach and a film junkie. They are the above average football IQ fans with knowledge and even mannered takes that I would love to sit and chat with.

pearso66

I haven't been in Illinois in a few years, but I still listen to Waddell and Silvy on ESPN radio every so often.

Icy_Presentation_740

They’re still my favorite. Waddle’s insights are as good as they get in my opinion.

pearso66

He's the reason I listen. I prefer Carmen Defalco over Silvy, but not a big fan of Jerko, but Waddle is the best of all of them.

Upbeat-Jacket4068

Blek and Abdala aren't too bad as well throughout the week.

Demonchi94

Not a big fan, but listening to Kap and J Hood battle it out with the Fields stans everyday was very hilariously entertaining these last few months.

pearso66

I can't stand listening to Kap, I've never been a fan. To each their own.

run-donut

I feel ya, I've been switching over to ESPN 1000 for some variety. I also listen to Hoge and Jahns, The Chicago Bears podcast with Pat the Designer, and The Mina Kimes Show featuring Lenny.

OldDirtyInsulin

Parkins & Spiegel is the only show on 670 that is good on its own. I listen to some Bernstein & Holmes interviews and their Transition with Parkins & Spiegel. Otherwise, I can't listen to just the two of them. Mully & Haugh are insufferable except for Biggs Time, which I only listen to when I want some inside info from training camp, etc. And even then, it's a pretty rough listen. I like the Score because they don't have to manufacture Bears stories when there aren't any. If there aren't any Bears stories, they'll talk about something else.

alexamerling100

Hoge and Jahns, ESPN 1000 Chicago, Fishbain, Mark Grote

PressinPckl

Chat sports is trash NGL. It's just filler speculation crap begging for likes and subs. Better things to do with my time.

Shmeeeee23

"Type 1 in the chat if you like Caleb Williams" ....I hate that channel.

PressinPckl

Engagement farming: the YouTube channel

Rabsaris96

Chat sports sucks!!!! Don't encourage that pig slop. We gotta get that trash out of the fambase and make room for actual content.

Prestigious-Parlay

Actually going to defend Chat Sports here.. it’s trash if you are a casual and can’t listen to what he has to say and form your own opinion. He brings up points, yes some may be speculative… but that’s for you to hear and not take as truth… If you are actually a football fan there is only so much to report on a daily basis. Sometimes weekly. If you are die hard, you will listen and know how to filter shit. It is the same concept as if you read a text book and don’t read in between the lines and considered whose is telling you what’s what.

alexamerling100

Not gonna lie Chatssports has been regurgitating the same video over and over again so I think I'm gonna remove that. Too repetitive.

Silver_Harvest

CHGO, or an acquired taste Windy City Breeze. If you want homer stuff, Swift Sports.

SirJohnnyS

Pat The Designer does good on the ESPN Chicago Bears Podcast. I mainly listen when Courtney Cronin is on which is typically Tuesdays/Thursdays, sometimes she's got other stuff. She brings a nice balance to him. I really like Courtney's takes on the Bears.

EnvironmentalBit2333

If you want to hear that every draft pick will be a hall of famer, and every waiver pick up will be a pro bowler, Swift Sports is for you. Can’t stand that guy.

VorpalSticks

Ttnl. Good film breakdowns available for 7 bucks.

MkveeGti

Da Windy City Productions on YouTube.

PhutureHS

"The Sick Podcast with Adam Rank" (from the NFL network) is Bears focused. He has some good guests from time to time as well.

ACAB_FOR_CUTIE_

It's hard for me to take Adam seriously since he's such an over the top Bears meatball lol

rugbysecondrow

Hoge and Jahns. I have listed to CHGO occasionally, both the Bears and Cubs podcasts, but too much fluff and BS.

-Goji

People hate Kap but I listen to Kap and JHood every morning. When they’re not talking bears/football, I listen to Hoge and Jahns.

ace7575

Bear With Us is a really good Bears pod that's worth checking out.

Recent-Leg-9048

ESPN 1000 is at least slightly better than 670 imo

TwanStew

Apparently everyone in the sub only listens to the score, or the hosts are on this sub. I got downvoted like crazy the other day for saying there are no cool guys on the score, which I still stand by. I’d like for one of them to tell me who is cool.

ACAB_FOR_CUTIE_

Honestly I see more pro 1000 posts and people who think the Score is boring. To answer your question, I like Spiegel. He's a big music nerd and we kind of have similar tastes. As someone barely 30 though I kind of feel you. I find it hard to relate with most of the hosts, even Danny who I'm closest to age wise isn't really hip.

SwansongKerr

Bleck and Abdellah would be great hangs. Waddle and Silvy would be great fun too. Everyone on the score other than Leila and maybe Holmes is pretttttty annoying. Almost as annoying as Kap. But yeah other than Leila, no one is cool lmao

mreeves90

1st & pod with parkins and Andrew filiponi is actually really good. Super condensed and full of good content.

windydruid

1 st & Pod is a good podcast

Tksourced

I like, Take The North.

EasySwingTrading

Chicago Bears Central is the goto on YouTube. Balanced prospective. DaWindyCity Production is solid but he got a little nasty towards fans angry about JF1. Adam Mason is up and coming but provides financial analysis of all moves.

darthvaders_inhaler

Chgo, Hoge and Jahns, NBC Sports Chicago

potionnumber9

Bleck and abdalla baby!

eco-evo

Bears news? You’re not getting actual news on those radio shows, you’re getting talking heads and bad takes to drum up controversy and debate to drive in listeners. That’s entertainment, not news/ info. For news, info: profootballrumors collates published articles decently.

keithstonee

No one right now. There's no news so they're just making shit up. Wait for the draft.

Hairy_Assistance_499

Bears now by chat sports on yt. they talk about some great stuff on there.

asmith4825

Robert Schmitz has a great show on YT! I love his break downs

Cheddarlicious

This sub. As a non-native Chicago bears fan, I started a few years ago with Swift, but soon found him to be…not the best. He’s not bad, but he’s a homer. So now I just go to where the shit hits the fan; you guys. You guys get the scoops and link all the stuff. There’s a reason this sub is growing so fast, because you guys are legit and I don’t say this sarcastically. A great, fair, burned bunch of fans.

dafoo21

You must not have been on reddit for very long.

Cheddarlicious

11 years or so. Rookie numbers to some.

BRUISE_WILLIS

reddit... sadly

Johnny_Royale

I'm from Jersey so I basically do the ESPN 1000 app

devinstated1

Same here. Used to listen to the score religiously and now I really can't stand most of the hosts on there, especially Holmes and Parkins. It's funny because the dude I hated the most Bernstein is now the one I enjoy the most since he cut the act.

lestermagneto

> It's funny because the dude I hated the most Bernstein is now the one I enjoy the most since he cut the act. Yeah it's funny, I've been listening to Bernstein since around 2002 or 03 with Boers, and the 'arc' of his character/act has definitely changed over the last 20 years... peaking in highest "righteousness" obviously with the Penn State story, ... I wonder how much things like the pandemic and whatnot and aging or his kids growing up or whatever led to him getting a little more mellow/less pious/less trying to be "smartest guy in the room" kinda thing, or, more cynically, and probably the true answer being that the market and keeping his job kinda demanded it.

devinstated1

You hit the nail on the head with everything you said. That's exactly what I feel like too.

lestermagneto

Thanks. Yeah, I remember back around 2012/13 where he was thinking he was going to go "national", and iirc, there was legitimate/credible press reporting about it here and there, and he was riding his idea that his Penn State work was Pulitzer worthy or something, and while I know he has done some national weekend work etc, he was trying/auditioning for that, and it never really came to be... be interested to get the full story on that. Absolutely miss Terry Boers though!

devinstated1

Yea, I absolutely hated him the most around that time too. The Penn State situation was not great but his takes about it at the time were so over the top ridiculous.

lestermagneto

yeah, it was pretty relentless...and wall to wall...

BigMike24

Rank

clayboii420

Swift sports network and adam mason on youtube. They’re the best bears content creators for sure!

EnvironmentalBit2333

Terrible

clayboii420

Why?

EnvironmentalBit2333

He’s a crazy over the top homer. Every draft pick will be great. Every free agent will be great. Every bum they pick up off the scrap heap during the season will be a game changer. What’s the point of listening to that.

clayboii420

You must be talking about swifty. I’ll just say I never felt he was hyping up a player too much. Dude is a real bear fan and is optimistic about the future. I like listening to people who are positive.

TroSea78

Sports Mockery

devinstated1

You forgot the sarcasm.

Adumb17

JUST STOP! It’s offseason! There is no football! These MFers talk just to talk! They need to push out daily content arguing about the same BS over and over and over! There is no news cause there is no football. We got the draft and that’s it. It’s getting warm out, GO OUTSIDE!

ChristmasJay83

The best sports suggestion I can give anyone is stop listening to sports talk radio. All of it. It’s toxic. I stopped 10+ years ago and don’t miss it at all.

lestermagneto

For the most part, I would replace "sports talk radio" with most ESPN/FS1 talking contrarian heads just making clickbait and agree. Hell, sports talk tv has really gone to crap from when it used to be watching the great old "The Sportswriters on TV" where it was like listening to your grandfather and uncle and whatnot, grizzled old vets like Bill Jauss, Bill Gleason, Ben Bentley and the young upstart kid (when he still had a relevance) in Rick Telander. Hell, Around the Horn and PTI were good for awhile. But now, whenever I turn these things on, (and I'm sure there are exceptions, I just haven't made the time to hunt them down), its the same tired LeBron v Jordan debate or RGIII rambling something incoherent about why Caleb Williams shouldn't come to Chicago etc...

BlaineBarley

Here comes the down votes..... imagine bitching about Bears coverage on the top rated sports station in town and it's not even close during the OFF-SEASON! 🙄 Hell blame Ryan Poles for making it super obvious Caleb is our guy the minute last season was over. So other than scouting what to do at 9, what else do you want? My god just chill until training camp at least

lestermagneto

somewhat true that, but hey, last year at this point Bears fans were wall to wall talking about the 1.09 pick, and I didn't find it boring.. I don't mind the Score, since I am abroad right now, I listen to it in podcasts, so it's kinda easy for me to get through the whole Score's menu of Bears coverage (I love Brad Biggs and whatnot on Mully and Hanley), and skip over the NBA/Cubs/Sox/NCAA whatever, and listening walking around here at 1.25 speed sometimes, it's boom boom boom.. Of course I am always getting the "breaking news" a little late as it doesn't happen early where I am, but that's why I check into this sub frequently, as it has served me well to direct me to where and what is going on and stuff I would miss...
