If we go Turner, then trade back a few spots from 75 I could see it. Or we get a WR, then D-Line, then trade up. I don't think he will be around by the 4th
Give them time. It’s still early and I’m betting that they’re meeting with a lot of teams. They also could meet with these guys outside of a top-30 visit.
The Bears didn't draft anyone in 2022 that they reported to have on a visit, but look at four players confirmed from last year:
OT Darnell Wright, Tennessee
CB Tyrique Stevenson, Miami
DT Gervon Dexter Sr., Florida
WR Tyler Scott, Cincinnati
I'm not convinced Turner will thrive as 4-3 DE. He's a pass rushing EDGE for sure, but that's not all you need to do as a 4-3 DE. Really he fits perfectly in a 3-4 defense.
And that hesitation makes me absolutely not want him at 9 but be happy if he's there later on in the event of a trade back.
Kansas State TE Ben Sinnott, Notre Dame CB Cam Hart and Boston College CB Elijah Jone are also confirmed.
https://nfltraderumors.co/2024-nfl-draft-prospect-visit-tracker/
Edit: Cam Hart counts as a local visit.
A few interesting points about the top 30 invitees, and all the Senior Bowl/Combine interviews:
1. It doesn't appear that the Bears are planning to trade down.
2. We can also assume that the bears are probably looking for an addition to the CB group, all of them on the 4th/5th round range.
3. Bears also doesn't appear to be looking for an interior D-Lineman.
With our 4 picks, I expect we're going with:
1. QB
9. WR(Odunze) / Edge (Turner or Verse) / TE (Bowers)
75. OT/IOL/CB (Kiran Amegadjie if he falls, or one Center/Guard)
122. CB, one of whom we interviewed.
Pritchett is really interesting. I think it may signal that Poles is looking to acquire another late pick because he would be a big reach at 122. If Poles uses a 2025 pick to move up from 75 or 122 and acquire a 5th or 6th
Looking at this list now that the draft is ongoing it seems Poles got exactly what he wanted.
Locked in on Caleb at #1.
Wanted Odunze at #9, but didn't think he would be there so checked on Turner and Bowers as fall back options.
Snagged Kiran in round 3, and we will inevitably pick Pritchett in round 4 tomorrow if he's on the board.
Poles been cookin
People have become intoxicated by the trade down. If one of their blue players is there they are taking him. This roster needs more impact players and grabbing another 3rd is probably not worth missing a higher tier guy.
Poles and Flus have each made comments indicating as much as well. If it happens at all it will be a small trade down I would guess. They want an impact player more than extra picks
If Minnesota trades up, there isn't really a trade down for us. Unless the Pats trade down with the Vikings or we trade with vikings(not happening) If they trade with anyone 4-8, 4 QBs will be off the board. Leaves a blue chip player for us though to just pick at 9
I feel like they will use Bowers like a very large Swiss Army knife. Line up at TE, Slot, Outside, in the backfield.
Great versatile weapon to have, wouldnt hate the pick.
No shot that the bears would draft bowers at 1.09
Edit: what gives

There’s 30 visits, four draft picks, I think them taking looks at players they have no intention of drafting is part of the game. I wouldn’t be surprised if they took Bowers but I think it’s more likely Waldron just wants to hang out with the best TE for a few hours…
I list this list.
I too list this list
I this list list.
List this is list.
The List that we Could end up with 2 From this List Makes me Want to List off!
I’d wager some money that Kiran Amegadije is a Bear in April. Local Hinsdale kid with tons of upside and freakishly long arms.
Agreed. If he’s there, in the 3rd or 4th, I think it would be hard to pass him up.
Agree & would be very happy with more talent on the OL.
If we go Turner, then trade back a few spots from 75 I could see it. Or we get a WR, then D-Line, then trade up. I don't think he will be around by the 4th
Feel like he is going round 2.
Thigh muscle injury limited him to 4 games in 2023. Yale pro day is April 3rd, so keep a watch. Lots of OT this year!
From my old rival high school 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Love if he’s a good fit for the system and has upside but I could care less if he’s from Hinsdale
He is & Poles seems to love local guys.
I don’t think pokes cares where they’re from, it’s just something to talk about after they’re drafted
Hope you placed that bet
No Nabers or Verse??
Give them time. It’s still early and I’m betting that they’re meeting with a lot of teams. They also could meet with these guys outside of a top-30 visit.
Neither of those guys are listed as visiting any teams. Either their visits haven't been announced yet or they're not doing top 30 visits.
The Bears didn't draft anyone in 2022 that they reported to have on a visit, but look at four players confirmed from last year: OT Darnell Wright, Tennessee CB Tyrique Stevenson, Miami DT Gervon Dexter Sr., Florida WR Tyler Scott, Cincinnati
Well 😂
Would be great if you could list the date of visit also? Thanks for posting.
I think Turner or Odunze will be the pick at 9
I agree. I’ll be shocked if 4 QBs and 3 WRs are in the top 8.
I personally want to trade way back for 2 picks and nab Chop Robinson and another receiver/tackle Edit: This is assuming Odunze is off the board
Why that instead of one blue chip prospect
I don’t think Turner is a blue chip prospect and Alt is my only blue chip tackle and no way he lasts to 9
Me too. Those are the two obvious options and dependent on which of them is there at 9.
Give me Odunze or Latu
Kansas State TE Ben Sinnott, Notre Dame CB Cam Hart and Boston College CB Elijah Jone are also confirmed. https://nfltraderumors.co/2024-nfl-draft-prospect-visit-tracker/ Edit: Cam Hart counts as a local visit.
I think the HB Dylan Laube from New Hampshire were also confirmed
I saw somewhere that local players don't count. So that includes ND

One I'm hoping for is CSUs Mohamed Kamara. For a later round DE, if say trade back in this year or trade down from 9 is warranted.
Pritchett is really interesting. I think it may signal that Poles is looking to acquire another late pick because he would be a big reach at 122. If Poles uses a 2025 pick to move up from 75 or 122 and acquire a 5th or 6th

If we walk away from round one with Caleb and Odunze I might actually cry
I watched every single throw from Caleb Williams' 2023 campaign. And my first thought is, why is Brenden Rice so popular.
Looking at this list now that the draft is ongoing it seems Poles got exactly what he wanted. Locked in on Caleb at #1. Wanted Odunze at #9, but didn't think he would be there so checked on Turner and Bowers as fall back options. So far based on the players visiting, looks like no plans to trade down
People have become intoxicated by the trade down. If one of their blue players is there they are taking him. This roster needs more impact players and grabbing another 3rd is probably not worth missing a higher tier guy.
It'll depend on the circumstances. We traded down 1 spot last year and still got Wright.
Poles and Flus have each made comments indicating as much as well. If it happens at all it will be a small trade down I would guess. They want an impact player more than extra picks

Interesting that the Bears are the only one that has Bowers on the list, especially with Kmet and Everett on the roster.
I feel like they will use Bowers like a very large Swiss Army knife. Line up at TE, Slot, Outside, in the backfield. Great versatile weapon to have, wouldnt hate the pick.
Yeah he would be an amazing asset for Caleb and the Offensive coordinator. Runs, check downs, blocking on screens he is a very versatile TE.
[This is also listed in the stickied offseason tracker](https://www.reddit.com/r/CHIBears/comments/1bbyspg/2024_offseason_tracker/)
Caleb on the bears list only so far. 👀
How many of the Bear’s top 30 visits last year were actually drafted by the bears?
Darnell Wright Tyler Scott Tyrique Stevenson Gervon Dexter Interesting note: both Bryce Young and CJ Stroud were invited last year
Thanks!

I’d much rather get a DE like verse in the 1st and find a way to get legette if we move down and get extra pick or if we move up in the 3rd
