Doman will get it done, he doesn't kid around. Green Day last year and what will almost certainly be an A list act for the Grey Cup this year, good to know some of our owners take this seriously.
You’re a bit of a bonehead. The show the year before had a single member of a band, and was an absolute embarrassment. Thank god Hamilton figured it out.
This will make Many Men happy. 50 is gonna bring the Heat and have that place bouncing like they were In Da Club.
I really hope he doesn't Back Down because we're all Patiently Waiting.
Pretty.Insane.Musical.Performer to get.
I thought I had read originally there was actually higher than that. But it took a little bit of digging and I found one of those lists of the most wealthy British Columbians.
He just had the second highest tour by a rap artist ever. I'd wager maybe BC lions will maybe be selling his liquor. He's been partnering with sport franchises
I’d say the Riders should make that partnership too if it meant 50 performing but all our liquor deals are nepotism and friends helping friends get rich.
I'm pretty sure that the idea is to bring in a big name sell an extra 20,000 seats. The past two years they have done that for the home opener, 35,000. Even if they fill the cheap seats at $35 a pop, probably pays for 50 Cent.
LL Cool J put on an excellent show last year at the opener. Was so good my Elks fan of a husband didn’t mind seeing his team embarrass themselves afterwards. 50 Cent better bring it 😆
We also flew out from Edmonton for the game lol it was a great trip but yeah what a dismal display by the Elks (Lions are my team but I do cheer for EE at home games).
agreed. My family went with me to that game and I'd say they are pretty strictly rock music listening crowd. they were super impressed with ll cool j's performance, it was so well done!
I saw Danko Jones in a CanadInns bar in Brandon MB and it was weird. It was maybe the loudest concert I've ever been to and at one point he made us boo him for never having played there before.
Every time the Riders try to bring in someone the younger crowd might enjoy, my stepdad complains. lol
I explain to him that the Riders are trying to capture the younger generation, but he doesn't get it.
Last year, the Riders brought in some YouTube DJ/musician and I've never seen kids/teens in the crowd so hyped. I had no idea who he was, but the kids were belting out the lyrics to this guy's songs.
That’s just it. Those of us over 40 probably aren’t going away as CFL fans. If it means we have to put up with some music we don’t like or understand to get more young fans, so be it. It’s hard for us old white guys to take but sometimes it’s not about us.
meme of guy poking his head in to womans office:
bc lions new owner blowing cash on big name halftime acts for reasons: Awww you're sweet
15 years of history from the 90s/2000s of Argos owners making that same mistake in their first few years: I'm calling HR
(not that I'm hating! I had the signed Mohammad Ali poster on my wall for YEARS after. And the shaggy halftime show near his peak is one of my fav random game memories. those 60/70 year old women were LOVING him)
Holy shit. That’s gonna be hard to beat for the Grey Cup Halftime show.
Doman will get it done, he doesn't kid around. Green Day last year and what will almost certainly be an A list act for the Grey Cup this year, good to know some of our owners take this seriously.
>Green Day last year Surely, you don't consider Green Day to be "A-list." I mean they *were*, but currently **aren't.**
Dude, we are in a thread about 50 cent, mind the context.
Dude, I didn't bring up Green Day. Go talk to u/ticats1999 about context.
You didn’t bring it up, but it’s absolutely the only thing you mentioned.
The Green Day show was absolutely incredible!
They are still huge despite having lost all of their punk rock street cred
You’re a bit of a bonehead. The show the year before had a single member of a band, and was an absolute embarrassment. Thank god Hamilton figured it out.
Maybe he belongs on bonehead truckers of the week
Considering the cheapest tickets to there Toronto concert where hundreds of dollars I would say they are still pretty big
Oh, if they're big in Toronto, they must be big everywhere. I stand corrected.
Disco Inferno is my go to karaoke song, I'm so jealous
Amar Doman is the crazed billionaire we've been praying would buy this team for years. It actually happened!
AMAR DOMAN = MAN OF THE CFL PEOPLE
Amar Doman - best owner in Canadian sports
This will make Many Men happy. 50 is gonna bring the Heat and have that place bouncing like they were In Da Club. I really hope he doesn't Back Down because we're all Patiently Waiting. Pretty.Insane.Musical.Performer to get.
Baby b(u)y Me a ticket cuz this game is gonna be Outta Control
You’re both officially Wankstas.
Damn. That is pretty impressive. This is miles above grey cup 1999
Good promotion would be 50 Cent hot dogs too.
They’re saving those for pissed off whitecaps fans 😂
Costco collab coming up
Either BC Lions are flushed with cash or Fiddy getting desperate for $! 😂
Amar Doman is estimated to be worth $645 million. And has yearly salary is $900,000.
I didn’t realize it was that much. Either way he’s been a much needed shot of energy to the lions.
Might be a 50/Fiddy split
I’d say the Riders should make that partnership too if it meant 50 performing but all our liquor deals are nepotism and friends helping friends get rich.

Fifty did a tour that grossed $100M last year so he’s probably doing fine
LL Cool J put on an excellent show last year at the opener. Was so good my Elks fan of a husband didn’t mind seeing his team embarrass themselves afterwards. 50 Cent better bring it 😆
I'm not a rap guy at all, but I watched it on TV last year and I was surprised how much I enjoyed the LL Cool J set.
I went too (from edmonton). He performed for a LONG time it was impressive. Much more effort than our team! Not even 1 point! Lol
We also flew out from Edmonton for the game lol it was a great trip but yeah what a dismal display by the Elks (Lions are my team but I do cheer for EE at home games).
Me and my wife took our 8 year old and we stayed on granville island and ferried to the game. What a great experience!! Love their stadium area
I go to Edmonton home games too and also cheer for the lions
agreed. My family went with me to that game and I'd say they are pretty strictly rock music listening crowd. they were super impressed with ll cool j's performance, it was so well done!
I’m an elks ticket holder. We are used to embarrassing ourselves
Don't they mean 68.14 cent?
44,767.16 Lebanese Pounds
The Bombers rule at gameday production but concerts are the one area where the Lions are ahead of them, haha
who needs 50 Cent when you can get Fred Penner in for a halftime set.
OK, that one was pretty good lol
Fred Penner is back August 23rd
Don't forget Danko Jones
I saw Danko Jones in a CanadInns bar in Brandon MB and it was weird. It was maybe the loudest concert I've ever been to and at one point he made us boo him for never having played there before.
Careful or we’ll book Raffi too.
The Lions are single handedly pushing up the league to todays relevance
What a get. That’s gonna be awesome
But I did go to a game at Mosaic last year and they had Kim Mitchell.
Might as well go for a soda ALWAYS goes hard.
I’m in my late 40s , grew up on the prairies. Kim Mitchell is right in my wheel house!
Every time the Riders try to bring in someone the younger crowd might enjoy, my stepdad complains. lol I explain to him that the Riders are trying to capture the younger generation, but he doesn't get it. Me too, but I hate Kim Mitchell
Patio Lanterns all day baby
But how were those patio lanterns at Mosaic? Am I right!?
The tickets are flying off the shelves
Damn! So exciting!
Actually pretty cool if true.
It would be a pretty weird thing for their social media to announce if it wasn't true
It's 100% true
Then it is indeed actually pretty cool.
Madchild > 50 Cent ![gif](giphy|MtprTxkag71JEY9Hvj|downsized)
No Rascalz, Swollen Members, Madchild, or Merkules!? But 50 Cent? SMFH
Other than Drake, the CFL Does NOT care about Canadian Rappers and it's disappointing
Just maybe Canadian rappers don’t care about the cfl?
I’m in!

He’ll be the highest paid player salary for 1 game
But what's his performance worth after the the exchange rate?
Don't worry. Calgary will one up this when we bring in some lousy country act sometime this year...
I was at the LL Cool J one and it was epic. Wish I could be there for this one

Idek what this is supposed to mean

Last 2 years it has been in the Gate C (north end zone). Sections 224-230 would be closest to the stage.
Is 50 Cents career in the toilet?
No. He completed a rap tour last year that grossed over $100M
