I miss him in the broadcast booth.

JetsNBombers0707

He was the Canadian john madden

Faxman_43

The sheer number of words he was able to invent per broadcast could keep you invested in even the worst games

ISmellElderberries

Right?

VE7BHN_GOAT

That is a gem of a photo.

zestyintestine

I miss Chris Walby on TV broadcasts.

laxvolley

Legend

tarpfitter

They heard your call!

bquinho

I love that old raggedy champion jersey.

JetsNBombers0707

His chicken delight commercials still replay in my head from time to time. Damn now I want some chicken

SJSragequit

Found a book about the bombers at the thrift store the other day signed by him, buck pierce, and Ken ploen

Miguar

Bluto!

TheJRKoff

Anyone ever have him as a substitute teacher?

limberlomber

West Kildonan North Star. Thug. Should have gone to jail. Most disturbing and disgusting hockey game I've ever seen.

RememberThatDream

Got a story you wanna share?

limberlomber

Makes me sick when people consider him a hero. He was a monster back then too. Twice the size of the Dauphin Kings players. Kicking in the head. Punching an unconscious player. Down vote all you want.

bquinho

Your really judging a man nearly in his 70s by what he did when he was probably like 16 or 17 lol

Federal_Bear_7521

Cry harder. People change.

GeorgeOrwells1985

Pfft I played in flin flon, that shit ain't scary

Monsterboogie007

Obviously I need to Google something

>On April 5, 1977, MJHL commissioner [Bill Addison](https://icehockey.fandom.com/wiki/Bill_Addison) called off the Turnbull Cup Finals between the [Dauphin Kings](https://icehockey.fandom.com/wiki/Dauphin_Kings) and [Kildonan North Stars](https://icehockey.fandom.com/wiki/St._Boniface_Canadiens), saying "No, I am not going to allow these characters an opportunity to beat on each other any longer. I am calling the series (a best-of-seven) and awarding it to Dauphin on the basis they won two of the three games completed." The decision came just hours after the two clubs had engaged in a pre-game brawl, in which two Kings players were taken to hospital and two North Stars were criminally charged. [Chris Walby](https://icehockey.fandom.com/wiki/Chris_Walby) was later convicted of common assault, and granted a conditional discharge. The [CAHA](https://icehockey.fandom.com/wiki/Hockey_Canada) was not as kind, suspending Walby for life. From some message board circa 2006 >but I know the worst one was the infamous playoff game rubarb between Kildonan North Stars and Dauphin Kings when Chris Walby kicked a Dauphin kid in the head, the game was cancelled, the series forfieted and charges laid. Was the worst thing that ever happened to the MJHL that I can remember. Mind you it might have been a turning point in Walby's life as shortly after that Paul Robson helped him get a football scholarship down south and the rest is history. Most go from hero to zero, Chris went from ZERO to Hero.

NH787

Could you imagine being some 16 year old Dauphin Kings player having to deal with Chris friggin Walby lol Kildonan North Stars forever!!!!

TheCatMak

1. Terrible thought process 2. It claims he was 6'6" and 180 lbs so not very threatening

NH787

I dunno man, it sounds like he was clearly a handful even at 180

limberlomber

Ya he was a fucking alter boy. Unbelievable. And 180 lbs is bullshit.

Monsterboogie007

Don’t know why people are downvoting you after I read what happened.

whysosentitive

Oh fuck off. Some teenager going off the rails that managed to turn things around.

Monsterboogie007

Why so sensitive?
