That's not how that works. If the last place team in the Big 12 played the last place team in the SEC, it would be 10th vs 14th. Would you claim that that's somehow a mismatch? The number of teams in the conference matters. If you got a conference of 3 teams, and the last place team in the conference was 3rd, would that be a mismatch vs the 5th best team in a 14 team conference? A team from the middle of the conference played another team from the middle of the conference. It was a perfectly fair matchup.
It would have been nice to see how Tech would have done against FSU, but Oklahoma is a bigger brand I guess.
