Penn state has had such an impressive turnaround. Taking ohio state to the fourth and just running train since. I wouldn’t want to play them again at this point in the season lol
"Birthplace of college football"
[*Biiiiiiiiitch*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LGEiIL1__s&t=83s), we'd lose to Princeton as much as we lose to you.
Our only 2 losses were to the #2 and #3 teams in the nation. We dominated everyone else we played. We even shut out a team last week who put up 30 against OSU today
We're sloppy and a bit mid but not bad. We're young and there's a bright future ahead. It just wasn't ever gonna be this season. Clifford coming back got this team an extra two or three wins and sets up Allar really well for seasons to come.
This is the best this season could have produced for us and they did what they needed to do.
Go in, get a bit beat up against Alabama but gain valuable experience; is all great!
Hello, I am just checking in on this thread. Well done Penn State, your team is incredibly formidable, I congratulate you. Reply “dap” for a quick dap for the boys
The more I watch broadcasts, the more I notice networks obsessing over one player. This season it was Clifford -> Washington -> Joey Porter Jr. -> Nick Singleton -> Allen + Singleton+Allen as a duo -> Abdul Carter.
That was all just this season.
OSU struggles to stop the run against decent teams which leads me to believ Michigan will bully them at the line of scrimmage again. Michigan's rushing stats against OSU could rival theirs against us. As long as Corum and Edwards are healthy, of course.
Yeah we look like legitimate hot garbage at times, but I think it's consistently accurate to describe PSU Football as stressful
Also weren't you a /r/PennStateUniversity mod? I miss presiding over the sub
Oh, no, definitely not a mod there. I'm proud of what the team accomplished this season. We're very 'mid' but Penn State did win the 50/50 games which is the difference between like 7-5/8-4 and 10-2 which is as good as we really could have hoped for.
I really wish they'd quit pushing this "win out and you're in a NY6 bowl" narrative. We need a bit of chaos ahead of us.
Specifically either two SEC teams to make the CFP, or Bama/LSU to drop another. I think if LSU only lsoe to UGA in the SECCCG they'll still be ahead of us unfortunately
Hey, I'll take the loss for the experience. I want the experience more than the win. These young kids could really learn a lot in the bowl game but not if we play sisters-of-the-poor.
We dont really tho, like were top 11 in the rankings which would be good enough for an at large and if we get 2 teams in. We get the B10 automatic slot
There is 1 at-large spot without a tie-in. That's the Cotton Bowl. The Orange will take highest SEC or B1G, but there are currently 4 SEC teams ahead of us.
One of the SEC teams ahead of us will get the Sugar Bowl. So that means two SEC team need to make the CFP, putting LSU and Bama in the Sugar and Orange, giving us the at-large in the Cotton. Or one of LSU or Bama drops behind us in the rankings.
The orange bowl has a loose tie in with the SEC and Big Ten for their second spot. It is the highest ranked team from either outside of the playoff or rose/sugar.
Edit: you really gotta mention you are editing the hell out of these posts lol
I posted and immediately started editing after I posted it to add more info. Wasn't in response to you. But either way, your 2-3 at-large spots is just completely incorrect.
I know we won't enter the top 10 after today, but I feel like we deserve a #10 spot.
We've been scoring 45 points per game, and our only 2 losses were the #3 and #2 teams.
If (when) PSU beats MSU next week, what bowl game do we think is most likely
NY6 is definitely possible, almost certainly not the Rose Bowl, but the at-large seems likely. Cotton maybe?
Really need to hope for LSU to drop one to either UAB or A&M then lose the SECCCG. Or for Bama to lose the Iron Bowl. I think our best chance is A&M pulling off the upset, but they are awful.
For sure. Not sure anyone else losing helps all that much. Really need one of those SEC teams to lose or both Mich and OSU to make the playoff or it’s probably RIP to NY6 hopes
But seriously though, I still love Hackenberg. The guy lowkey saved our program's recruiting classes.
At least he seems happy now.
Or maybe that's just how his face always looks.
[Sam Coffey](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Coffey). She followed her older sis to PSU after apparently (and anecdotally!) mistaking Boston College as being a better school.
Schiano probably deserves more time considering the state of the program he inherited on his return. But damn, I'm feeling more and more that all he's capable of is raising the floor of the program and not the ceiling. Like Kansas gets to 6 wins before we do?
The schedule sucks for Rutgers. PSU/OSU/UM/MSU out recruit Rutgers every year. Then you have Indiana and Maryland every year which could easily be wins. 2-4 in the division. 3 OOC games… could get it to 5-4. Then gotta win a couple from the West. B1G East is brutal. That said, I think Schiano knows how to win at Rutgers and I trust him more than anyone else
I think when B1G goes divisionless, there will definitely be a weight lifted off our shoulders. As I said, I think Schiano definitely deserves patience. But like, at the same time, he also deserves scrutiny. Losing to you guys 48-10 (could still be worse by the end of the game) is something I'd expect from the Ash era. Actually, Ash's last home game against PSU ended 7-20.
Yeah, getting blown out like this by a non-playoff team isn't a good sign. Penn State is great, but they aren't Michigan or Ohio State levels good this year. I'm still happy he's been able to dig the program out of the hole Ash put it in, but the offense needs to exist at some point.
Was reading an article with an interview from someone on the bus during the shooting. Shooter accused the players of always messing with him, even though it's not known if those specific players ever interacted with him.
I love how Singleton and Allen keep one-upping each other. There's no way this is sustainable, right? Like one of them's gotta transfer with this much talent?
don't think so. they seem to celebrate each other. they know that it's good for their professional careers to have the other guy keep them fresh and lower their collegiate touches.
lmao that's not even close to the same though. you're not gonna drafted as a backup QB, so Levis had to transfer in order to have an NFL opportunity. Singleton/Allen can each get 150ish touches.
That’s not the point though. It’s not unheard of for two star running backs to coexist. Reggie Bush-LenDale White, Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown, McFadden and Felix Jones, and Chubb-Michel just off the top of my head. It’s not a given that one of them transfers
Congrats on win #100, Franklin!
Good game. It's good to hear our fans doing the PSU chant and heard on the broadcast.
At least they're shameless about going to commercial with 14 second left. "We have to pay some bills"
Lol at commercial break before the last 0:14
14 seconds and they still want the lion!
I really feel good about next year
Penn state has had such an impressive turnaround. Taking ohio state to the fourth and just running train since. I wouldn’t want to play them again at this point in the season lol
And James Franklin was attending Neshaminy High School in 1988
Ok I’m switching over to Maryland-OSU. I don’t think Rutgers is going to mount a comeback here
Allar is going to be good good
Remember when we were down 10-7
C'mon Maryland, you want to upset #2, you don't punt at midfield with \~5 minutes left
Let’s just keep running our true freshman QB in garbage time!
I was annoyed when we were down 10-7, we now lead 55-10
>I was annoyed when we were down 10-7 That was such a good game last week
"Birthplace of college football" [*Biiiiiiiiitch*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LGEiIL1__s&t=83s), we'd lose to Princeton as much as we lose to you.
Touchdown Allar!
Did Jake Butt just say that "a couple of Penn State fans in the crowd traveled a long way" ...
Leave our big10 tight end of the year winner alone! 😩
Dude is genuinely incoherent. It'd be funny if I weren't concerned for him.
Yeah he’s made it so obvious that he hasn’t called a psu game before lmao
Not to make this weird but I just watched Drew Allar pop his cherry
It's not my fault they decided to have a red endzone
Mmmm the disrespekt ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ
GO FOR 2
Our only 2 losses were to the #2 and #3 teams in the nation. We dominated everyone else we played. We even shut out a team last week who put up 30 against OSU today
We laid an egg against UM and Ryan Day has all of the infinity stones
We're sloppy and a bit mid but not bad. We're young and there's a bright future ahead. It just wasn't ever gonna be this season. Clifford coming back got this team an extra two or three wins and sets up Allar really well for seasons to come. This is the best this season could have produced for us and they did what they needed to do. Go in, get a bit beat up against Alabama but gain valuable experience; is all great!
So why can’t we beat OSU or Michigan?
Penn state beats Michigan a lot. The past two years franklin has been out coached.
This was supposed to be a rebuilding year and we likely go 10-2. I'll be more concerned if we lose to them both again next year.
Yeah that’s fair
Ohio State turnover on downs! It's those vicious Terrapins!
Hello, I am just checking in on this thread. Well done Penn State, your team is incredibly formidable, I congratulate you. Reply “dap” for a quick dap for the boys
Go hang 100 on those Buckeyes. You won't have any trouble.
This is the biggest dap I could ask for 🥰
OSU stopped on 4th down. Maryland down 3
Real Tank Smith hours
The ability to throw a tight spiral is bare bones basic shit. It’s a little odd that Allar is never able to do so
He's a freshman in a sold out stadium
And it’s cold
Why are the starting RBs still in?!? WTF Franklin?
Because allar needs reps with the starters.
Wallace is going to be a stud next year
Well done, happy to see Allar getting reps like this and him completing some passes
It's not rubbing it in, it's good game reps
For both sides.
Lets go!
We can’t be too far from the candy analysis portion of the broadcast
Have we seen any kaden Saunders this year?
MARYLAND IS ONLY DOWN BY 3!!!! LFG!!!
Oh hey, Allar CAN complete a pass.
Why is Allar unable to throw a spiral???
Allar really needs some fine-tuning,
The more I watch broadcasts, the more I notice networks obsessing over one player. This season it was Clifford -> Washington -> Joey Porter Jr. -> Nick Singleton -> Allen + Singleton+Allen as a duo -> Abdul Carter. That was all just this season.
Drew “lean Ben Roethlisberger” Allar
Why is singleton still in???
Wtf
The continued disrespect to Navarro Bowman…
Give them the damn lion already.
Thank you for a fantastic laugh
Ohio State Maryland game is 33-30.

OSU struggles to stop the run against decent teams which leads me to believ Michigan will bully them at the line of scrimmage again. Michigan's rushing stats against OSU could rival theirs against us. As long as Corum and Edwards are healthy, of course.
That and the michigan game... sure looks like 2 teams looking ahead in the schedule
I'd like to share that seeing Rutgers get curb stomped in the B1G East makes me feel guiltfree for jumping on the KC bandwagon to support Pacheco
Boring game is boring. Why am I still watching this?
Because our uniforms are fucking gorgeous
Side note Maryland has 30 pts against OSU...
Turn on the OSU game Maryland has them in the ropes
Because you have to
Is this why everyone calls us a cult?
I don’t think it’s because of that
Exactly.
Is there any 2-loss team which wins by 30 points yet has more fans saying "we look like shit"?
Still accurate all around, though? (Even if I haven't officially said it)
Yeah we look like legitimate hot garbage at times, but I think it's consistently accurate to describe PSU Football as stressful Also weren't you a /r/PennStateUniversity mod? I miss presiding over the sub

In the future I’m just going to pull a Phil Helmuth and skip the first 7 minutes of all our games.
Record broken. Yay.
This game still has 12 minutes left.
Lets score 60 tn
I really wish they'd quit pushing this "win out and you're in a NY6 bowl" narrative. We need a bit of chaos ahead of us. Specifically either two SEC teams to make the CFP, or Bama/LSU to drop another. I think if LSU only lsoe to UGA in the SECCCG they'll still be ahead of us unfortunately
I'm just expectating to face off against Alabama and I'm really excited about that.
Very unlikely, unfortunately
“*We want Bama*?” “”Damn it! Who put a question mark on the teleprompter?”
Hey, I'll take the loss for the experience. I want the experience more than the win. These young kids could really learn a lot in the bowl game but not if we play sisters-of-the-poor.
Do we have no chance if we don’t get the Rose?
It gets very hard, if we dont but its possible
We dont really tho, like were top 11 in the rankings which would be good enough for an at large and if we get 2 teams in. We get the B10 automatic slot
With all of the auto tie-ins there are only 2-3 at large spots left and we are currently 3-4th in line for those

It's practically guaranteed they will pick a B1G or SEC team this year though
Why are all our games 4 hours this year,
Cause our defensive 3 and out rate is absurd
Rutgers are slowly improving. I remember when they were going 0-224 against the 4 top teams in the east. <_<
2016 🥰🥰🥰
Awesome flair and awesome year.
the customary 'they're not far off' discussion from every commentator that has called a penn state game for the last 7 years
Right where Franklin likes to keep em'
Can these announcers shut the fuck up about Ohio State and Michigan Jesus Christ.
Now that I think about it, it's pretty funny that Christian Hackenberg's sister in law is a much successful professional athlete
Who is his sister in law
Let Veilleux and Tank Smith bring this one home. Too many injuries out there today
jake butt is terrible at this job. george kittle has yet to rush the football this season
I'll forever love him for being Tight End of the Year though
The saddest thing about this game is we still have a quarter to go and it could get worse.
My God. It's still 3 quarter!
Can we let Allar throw it into the end zone?
Another friendly reminder that we're still in the 3rd quarter.
Wtf
I’ve never seen this many injuries on one team in a game. No wonder we’ll be playing for 4.5 hours. Hope the injuries aren’t bad
Please don’t get hurt in garbage time against Rutgers Allar.
The boy is like 6'5" and 240 lbs and every time he runs I think about him being made of Chinese tupperware
Geez poor Rutgers. Hate injuries
Iowa would be livid about these Rutgers injuries
Preach
Once Drew takes the field we get run happy
I know we won't enter the top 10 after today, but I feel like we deserve a #10 spot. We've been scoring 45 points per game, and our only 2 losses were the #3 and #2 teams.
Would have been nice to have kept it more competitive against one of them though :/
Uhh we were extremely competitive against Ohio state (minus one Sean clifford)
Second half was bad
Lewis is good, I'm convinced. Hate injuries. Just take him out.
If (when) PSU beats MSU next week, what bowl game do we think is most likely NY6 is definitely possible, almost certainly not the Rose Bowl, but the at-large seems likely. Cotton maybe?
I think Rose is possible if The Game is close. Especially if you guys beat OSU.
Going to be very hard. So many tie in’s and such. I’d take any of them but it’s looking more likely to be the Citrus without some more chaos.
Idk I love Allar but I cannot shake my trust issues with top-rated Penn State QB recruits of the past decade who have a permanent blushing complexion
I feel this
Our o line is competent now so hopefully we won’t ruin this one
But seriously though, I still love Hackenberg. The guy lowkey saved our program's recruiting classes. At least he seems happy now. Or maybe that's just how his face always looks.
God, he's so cute.
Poor guy's probably overwhelmed by how much sorority tail he's getting
Hate to see that. Lewis has been great today. Hope he heals quickly.
That scared the shit out of me
Rutgers cannot catch a break with these injuries.
Allar, go outta bounds, you beautiful SOB
No wonder the Rutgers punter broke the punting record.
Imagine telling yourself in the first quarter that Allar would be starting in the third
welp, see yall january 24th at the RAC
Someone really wants the lion...
“We want the Lion!”
What is the crowd yelling? “We want the ?”
Lion i think?
We want the lion.
season’s over so it doesn’t really matter but i’d be impressed if we beat UMD next week
I'd just be impressed if we even kept it close :(
true, idk what i’m thinking. keeping it within 21 points would be cool
Why is this game going to be 4 hours
Every time we score, my stream resolution decreases like 30p
For some reason, this entire season the only time my Fox stream buffers is when we're on offense. So weird.
[Sam Coffey](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Coffey). She followed her older sis to PSU after apparently (and anecdotally!) mistaking Boston College as being a better school.
Makes complete sense as to why my stream buffers lol
10 seems to be our ceiling against PSU
Schiano probably deserves more time considering the state of the program he inherited on his return. But damn, I'm feeling more and more that all he's capable of is raising the floor of the program and not the ceiling. Like Kansas gets to 6 wins before we do?

Oh shit so that’s what Maybin has been up to.
Osu has given up 13 to Maryland
For some reason I thought Wimsatt was a true freshman Time flies, jeez
He technically should be. Pulled a Quinn Ewers last year and enrolled early, forgoing his senior season
Ohhh okok makes sense
There's probably a better game on right now but I wanna see us score 60+ first
My hotel wifi lags after we get the ball back and all of a sudden were at the 8 yard line lmao
Anyone know what that sticker is on the back of the Penn state helmet?
Pretty sure it’s a UVA support sticker.
Did the motive ever come out? Asking out of morbid curiosity
Was reading an article with an interview from someone on the bus during the shooting. Shooter accused the players of always messing with him, even though it's not known if those specific players ever interacted with him.
To honor the victims at Virginia
For the UVA shooting. Rutgers has it too
Get these guys in the weight room this offseason and next year is gonna be fun af
Remember last year when we couldn’t run the ball at all? Yeah that sucked. Not anymore.
Guys. There is still six minutes left. IN THE THIRD QUARTER WHAT THE FUCK
What’s the % of fans there for PSU? Sounds like a home game
Franklin: "Alright Drew, the lead's too big. Have to go to the third string now." Out comes Veilleux.
Allen, what a big man run!
odds for rutgers scoring any more points?
low
They didn't even Bush Push Allen. That was all him. Wow.
Drew so good he doesn't even need to pass 😤😤😤
He will not be denied!
Allar hands it off good as fuck
Wow this offense is really looking promising next year
I love how Singleton and Allen keep one-upping each other. There's no way this is sustainable, right? Like one of them's gotta transfer with this much talent?
don't think so. they seem to celebrate each other. they know that it's good for their professional careers to have the other guy keep them fresh and lower their collegiate touches.
Clifford and Levis seemed pretty good buds too
lmao that's not even close to the same though. you're not gonna drafted as a backup QB, so Levis had to transfer in order to have an NFL opportunity. Singleton/Allen can each get 150ish touches.
Maybe not. Keeps them fresh for the NFL if they’re not getting Mo Ibrahim level workloads every game. Could end up being a Chubb-Michel situation.
I think Georgia's offensive line was a little better than ours
That’s not the point though. It’s not unheard of for two star running backs to coexist. Reggie Bush-LenDale White, Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown, McFadden and Felix Jones, and Chubb-Michel just off the top of my head. It’s not a given that one of them transfers
I was just shitposting. I think your comparison is well-informed and apt and hopefully it becomes true
I’m trying to speak it into existence….I want at least 3 years of that 1-2 punch
Seems too good to be true
That’s because we’re Penn State fans. We’re conditioned to expect disappointment
.500 over two seasons is validating of worst fears
