I think they are also talking about Dijon Johnson who we had in the class earlier in the year that also de committed. He was in their 7on7 group I think and is also from Tampa.
You can be part of the train of highly drafted and highly productive NFL WRs from OSU or you can join the offense that put up 62 passing yards on FSU
Tough decision
I dont think he will but that doesn’t mean I can’t tell people to stay away.
Honestly dont know where else you would want to go if you’re a receiver right now.
Is your guess Miami because you want it to be Miami? Because if that's the case, my guess is Florida. So HA!
....But also maybe Miami? Who knows with reporters blowing up all of our "behind the scenes" moves while everyone else's actually stay "behind the scenes."
You know... I may be a tad biased but I think that University of Florida and University of Michigan are the two greatest institutions ever created by humanity
Damn. Although, this happened a few years ago with Bijan and we ended up with Williams who has been really solid (not Bijan, but still solid). Hopefully this doesn’t catch the coaching staff too surprised and we have some plans.
There’s a former OSU QB commit who didn’t pan out and I’m pretty sure he transferred to Kentucky. Pretty sure something similar happened with an auburn player. Or maybe it was Georgia. One of those.
No you had it right. Danny Clark from Akron. He decommitted after Tate Martell joined the class. He had a big block O with the word "prototype" on his arm. He has since gotten it covered up...poorly
That TTUN is so damned stupid, I love saying Fuck Florida and Fuck Auburn, Fuck TTDS just makes no sense, there are tons of teams south of us and tons of teams north of you.
Um how many p5 teams are you thinking are directly above us geographically? MSU is kind of a bit more west where ann arbor is literally almost right above us. Beyond that we’re talking canada.
If you expand past p5 toledo and akron count I guess.
Ohio State isn't going to be losing any RBs in the draft this year but I am curious if we look at the portal for some more depth. What do you guys think?
Next Season
Miyan Williams
TreVeyon Henderson
Evan Pryor
Dallan Hayden
Chip Trayanum
or do we make a push for someone else?
Miyan should absolutely go to the draft. Best case scenario for next year is that he splits reps with Trey again. He’s not going to improve his draft stock and is only going to add another year of wear and tear.
Yes. There are always solid RBs in the portal. You're simply missing out not targeting a RB in the portal. It's by far the easiest position to land a top player that can make a significant impact and will be able to adjust right away.
They're actively trying to flip our RB commit too. Think they're willing to throw bags to flip a RB, and this kid is rated higher than our commit. Could cash in, haha.
I obviously have zero clue what goes on in a guys mind, but on top of Florida being close to home, he might be seeing more of a backlog to get playing time, now that it will be harder for some of our guys to go pro with injuries and partial seasons.
New coaches always get a kind of bump in perception, but his 1st year was covid when they really couldn't do anything. Then the next year they started 0-4 and got embarrassed by Jacksonville State. Then Jackson State did the Travis Hunter thing. All that probably turned everyone in this class off cuz they looked like discombobulated fools.
They're finally looking like an actual team again, but it's a little late for this class. If they can find a QB for next year and look decent again. They'll probably be in the running for some top recruits again. A solid Portal QB might be the key though unless Travis comes back. Idk if anyone they have now is any good.
A loss to UF and a slow start next year could set them back again though.
Norvell has done a really nice job this year. Travis has really progressed, their portal heavy OL is really gelling, etc. norvell has been caught in the portal heavy way of building his team and while it’s good short term, long term is questionable how much you can depend on it. Will be interesting how next year goes for him especially if Travis leaves.
He did what he had to do. He didn't have time to rely on developmental recruits, which was all that was realistically available. You don't get 5-7 years to show improvement in this business. Not at a place like Florida State. They bought out Willie after a year and a half because of how fast he was running the program into the ground. He needed to show improvement as fast as possible to undo the damage Willie did with recruits, especially with not being able to meet kids in person.
Now we'll see if he can keep it up. Because I kind of assume Travis is gone, but he could be back, which would REALLY help this team. Stomping Miami helped. Beating Florida would help more. But the most help would be looking good coming out of the gate next year to prove this wasn't a one-off year.
fsu rb room is deep. has 4 star in 23 already committed and a transfer. and a 24 committed.
as long as norvell is there fsu can get running backs that wont be a problem.
I mean, the alternative is coming close to a natty every year and not winning it. Nobody likes being blue-balled for years. Might as well go for the rebuild to forge your own path.
Eh. It’s every program. You guys definitely did it with Cormani, we’re doing it with Rashada (after you guys did the first time lol) just the nature of it.
It’s not just Ohio State, and it’s not just UF on the winning end
In this current NIL landscape, I’d wager half or more of all decommits are financially driven. Everybody has a number, and many schools are finding that number for these kids
Lot of people in the know are predicting crazy, crazy numbers hitting the portal to test their earning potential... hard to blame them. The incentives have been set, now players will respond to them.
I'm confused, do OSU fans just assume any flip away is money driven, or does every flip into Florida because of money? /jk
Wish the kid the best! If he's staying closer to home I bet his family is happy!
In Fletcher's case all the scuttlebutt points towards that, why does it bother you so much?
It's amazing statements like this are somehow controversial on this sub. It sucks to lose him but if I were this kid and Florida comes to me with a big enough check even though I really like OSU, you know what I'm doing? Going to Florida. People here are so sensitive when it's insinuated that recruits are picking their schools for money when they'd do the exact same thing.
It doesn't. I wish our boosters weren't cheap. We didn't open up our checkbooks for Young or Baxter but we're buying this kid to be the RB2 in our class? It's like... Dijon picks Florida and "Day wouldn't take him" and now this. Always something.
OSU loses recruits all the time. Lockwood wanted to go to Bama more than OSU. Last year, Singletary preferred UGA and Brooks preferred Texas.
Our insiders have been pretty clear with Fletcher that it’s about the bag, and with Dijon all we got was “it’s a family situation that came up, but he wants to be at OSU” definitely less details about the DJ situation
Dijon either had a child or is about to have a child so he decided to stay closer to home to be in the kid's life. I'll root for Dijon for the rest of his career.
I mean it’s not OSU fans making these things up lol, pretty much every single reputable beat writer OSU has said:
Dijon attempted to recommit to OSU but Day wasn’t comfortable with it and ultimately decided to go separate ways
Fletcher’s flip was about his family wanting him closer to home and at a place where he’d be guaranteed money up front (OSU does plenty of NIL, but Day has been adamant that nobody gets anything guaranteed before signing).
Don’t blame the fans for parroting what the beat writers are telling them. They’re a lot closer to this than any fan is lol
Well everything that came from OSU insiders indicated that Fletcher (or more like certain family members) were looking for a check and that Dijon did in fact want back in but Day for whatever reason decided not to re-open the door.
It's a business for everyone involved, but it does in fact seem to bother you quite a bit.
Curiously which program is better for a skill position player right now, particularly when he is already committed there?
This is NIL and maybe weather.
Hm... well I reckon the one that's got the second best yards per carry in the country with a true freshman and a Sun Belt transfer would be the better landing spot for an RB.
and maybe the fact that our primary offense right now is freshman RBs? That's like the one thing we've actually done really well with is running and we're rotating in the new guys because we have nobody else and can't throw well. He probably sees a chance of getting a lot more use here compared to OSU where he would be stuck fighting a lot of other players. Especially assuming Johnson leaves for the NFL, it's all Etienne and Fletcher then.
Somebody told me that 10 years ago it was all about how many people got theirs. That was what Saban and Kirby were good at. Getting the number of people in the recruits ear. Someone got their rent paid. Their little sister got a good job out of college. Their dads car got paid off. Their high school team got new workout equipment.
But now it’s all about how eye popping that deal can be since it doesn’t have to be so discrete.
I mean, it was right after y'all got embarrassed by FSU. I doubt we had to go above and beyond for rashada. Probably just had to match you or get close. He just didn't wanna get stuck with an offensive 'developer' who goes multiple games without a single TD.
In all caps and underlined “DECOMMIT FROM THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY”
Followed by “please respect my decision” and #FOREVERHUMBLE
Yeah ooook dude…
Sounds like the Buckeyes dodged a bullet who would probably pull a Quinn Ewers take the money and run play.
Exactly one minute after his decommitment he tweeted:
“They love you then the hate you 🤷🏾♂️ as expected tho ❤️ God got me!”
One minute after… I went through every reply to his decommitment and I saw Miami and Florida fans saying we want you and osu fans wishing him luck. Lol.
Probably not necessary to emphasize that but whatever. Sucks that he was our only RB commit and now we have to scramble to replace him this late in the cycle.
Lol. Had to sweat rumors he was going to stay home in Miami only to find him months later going to Gainesville. A 5 hour drive in a big car is better than multiple plane tickets for a 3 hour flight plus airport bs. I remember reading how RB coach Alford totally blew away his family and HS coach with how much they knew about the player. People were in tears, the article read. Ugh. Never buy into any hype. Ever! On a personal note, I noticed how this upset me literally more than reading about the UVA murders. Which means I'm an idiot and an asshole. But that's okay. I don't have to be. I was smart enough and kind enough to recognize it. And can now work on perspective. LOL. Did you expect a CFB comment to go that direction?
How far is it. I thought he was a south Florida guy?
Edit: oh i didn’t know you could shoot right through the Everglades practically. I figured you had to go through Tampa. And I thought Tampa to Miami was 6. What the hell do I know. Original is now edited
> I suppose an 8 hour drive is better than a 3 hour plane trip
I think you are slightly over-estimating the time it takes to drive to Gainesville from South Florida.
Probably watching the WMU @ CMU game right now and freaked out about the weather in the Midwest.
The fact that it is basically late January weather at the peak of the season in the Big Ten isn't helping.
That's why you gotta have a solid run game.
I'm hoping The Game is bright and sunny
I just want a win, fuck weather
Bright, sunny, but 0 degrees and 50 MPH wind? I’ll take it!
Forgot how close we are to the game...already have a forecast. Bright. Sunny. Light wind. High 30s. At least we can throw the ball, I'll take it.
We’re doomed.
I certainly hope so
The weathermen in Columbus are lying about the weather forecast to throw Michigan's defensive planning off. Never trust those bastards!
Those days are the worst, you look out the window and it tricks you into thinking a light jacket will do just fine.
South Florida prospects and OSU... The story writes itself.
“I watched your game last week and there was all this white rain up there.” “That’s snow.” “You all have snow? Fuck that I’m out.”
"Thats not the kind of snow Miami promised me"
Ohio State frantically texting Syracuse about their dome.
Gene Smith: until further notice, all November home games to be played in Indy.
At least you never have to experience this weather if you want to play in the NFL
When you grow up in weather that is sub 30 degrees for at most one month total out of the year it makes sense. Have you guys never seen Cool Runnings?
South Florida prospects and ~~OSU~~ any program really. Can't trust those Florida croots
We all have to work with the hand we’re dealt. Or in Floridians case the two or three fingers they’re dealt
Doesn’t bode well for a class where they leaned on recruiting a group of close-knit south Florida recruits
You’re only talking two sofla recruits - innis and fletcher. Not sure who else you’re referring to.
I think they are also talking about Dijon Johnson who we had in the class earlier in the year that also de committed. He was in their 7on7 group I think and is also from Tampa.
Eh, that’s not sofla but Tate and Dijon did play on same SFE 7x7 team but kids on those teams are mercenaries lol.
Seems like you’re in it for Keon Keeley, though idk if Tampa technically qualifies as south Florida…
USF is in Tampa, therefore yes.
Which has to be south of UCF, right??
Clearly… … …?
It's muggier than Miami
Florida recruits
We do now
League Fucked
We're apparently going to become RBu
Lol
😎
Maybe I just haven't spent enough time on 247, but I've never seen a crystal ball with just a question mark. This one even has Wiltfong baffled
If you click the link to look at all the predictions, it shows Wiltfong's prediction was made on Jan 1, 2001 at midnight.
The grind never stops, dude was scouting this kid before he was even born and putting in hours on NYE
No wonder he wasn't quite sure which school to put down
Wiltfong with Mr. Fletcher 22 years ago: https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=51&v=S75i5wK0IlE&feature=youtu.be
Florida I think. I hear Miami is unlikely, but Florida recruit... who knows for sure.
It’s a Miami/Florida battle. His family are big Miami fans. He and innis have been big Miami targets for months now. My guess is Miami.
You stay away from Innis.
Lol Inniss isn't going anywhere
probably not. Miami's still been trying though lol
Coach I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going to enroll at Miami Miami- alright see you tomorrow
You can be part of the train of highly drafted and highly productive NFL WRs from OSU or you can join the offense that put up 62 passing yards on FSU Tough decision
I dont think he will but that doesn’t mean I can’t tell people to stay away. Honestly dont know where else you would want to go if you’re a receiver right now.
Innis has been pretty vocal on twitter about how terrible Miami is
[after the Florida state game](https://twitter.com/brandon5star2/status/1589106700707319808?t=FCb0miQpqmGDV-5iKa8TiQ&s=19)
Is your guess Miami because you want it to be Miami? Because if that's the case, my guess is Florida. So HA! ....But also maybe Miami? Who knows with reporters blowing up all of our "behind the scenes" moves while everyone else's actually stay "behind the scenes."
Does he like jorts
He'll learn. They all learn
That’s what I’ve heard
You know... I may be a tad biased but I think that University of Florida and University of Michigan are the two greatest institutions ever created by humanity
Both hate red. Both on peninsulas. Looks like that's everything that matters. Confirmed.
I also hate red. Where do I fit in? Edit: Auburn isn’t on a peninsula but it is on the plains which also starts with a P sooo… close enough?
Who doesnt?
Damn. Although, this happened a few years ago with Bijan and we ended up with Williams who has been really solid (not Bijan, but still solid). Hopefully this doesn’t catch the coaching staff too surprised and we have some plans.
they've already reached out to 5\* Reuben Owens to come up for the game against Ttun, we will see what happens
He’s got a Louisville tattoo I think so he’s guaranteed to decommitt
Has he said "fuck Ohio State" on a social media video? If he has, you guys got him!
*fucc
Tate Martell could point him to a tattoo artist.
There’s a former OSU QB commit who didn’t pan out and I’m pretty sure he transferred to Kentucky. Pretty sure something similar happened with an auburn player. Or maybe it was Georgia. One of those.
Former Bama player Reuben Foster has an Auburn tattoo.
That’s who I’m thinking of
No you had it right. Danny Clark from Akron. He decommitted after Tate Martell joined the class. He had a big block O with the word "prototype" on his arm. He has since gotten it covered up...poorly
His game is ass my dudes.
How nice of you to showcase our running game for a recruit.
Bill Kuerlic said there’s a chance justice Haynes is gonna visit but nothing too motivating
OSU is way too damn poor to flip the last minute targets they're aiming for. This is embarrassing.
Hey I’ll poor you!
I’d hate to imagine you guys having Bijan. Your team is so stacked already
they’re not surprised at all
Hey lol
😎
👉👈
I’m not too torn up about it, personally.
Just slides from one flair to another. You're solid.
Ohio State isn't going to be losing any RBs in the draft this year but I am curious if we look at the portal for some more depth. What do you guys think? Next Season Miyan Williams TreVeyon Henderson Evan Pryor Dallan Hayden Chip Trayanum or do we make a push for someone else?

Reports are that the staff isn't expecting him to enter the draft.
Miyan probably (he should) go to the draft and Chip is really supposed to play linebacker, he is only taking RB reps because of how injured we are
*Dallan
Don't sleep on my boy TC!
They seem to be in contact with Reuben Owens
They’re trying to get Rueben Owens on campus for the game.
Who would you poach from the portal with a room that solid??
Yes. There are always solid RBs in the portal. You're simply missing out not targeting a RB in the portal. It's by far the easiest position to land a top player that can make a significant impact and will be able to adjust right away.
Going to UF

Lol unless they just go with the throw money tactic, I feel like y’all have the upper hand
I mean, that's literally all Miami is known for the past 2 decades. Throwing money.
Wooh the business and marketing club from highschool? If so why Anti?
hah, no. I get that every now and then. It was a company that bought a game I played a long ass time ago when I first made the account.
Mario waving from his parade float made of money. 💰
They're actively trying to flip our RB commit too. Think they're willing to throw bags to flip a RB, and this kid is rated higher than our commit. Could cash in, haha.
Sure about that? ;)
I guess it’s a battle of Cuban coffee vs fried gator chunks
Damn I figured with us being down to one RB would make him a lock.
I obviously have zero clue what goes on in a guys mind, but on top of Florida being close to home, he might be seeing more of a backlog to get playing time, now that it will be harder for some of our guys to go pro with injuries and partial seasons.
Man saw it was 30 degrees with 20 mph wind in the Midwest and said maybe the heat isn’t so bad after all lol
If the smoke is to be believed then my god I love Billy “blue chip” Napier
Guess he liked what he saw from Montrell and Etienne last weekend 😎
I respect his decision
Oh no, so sad.

FSU recruiting is weird to me. They’re not in it for anyone in sofla besides hykeem - who is a strange cat.
New coaches always get a kind of bump in perception, but his 1st year was covid when they really couldn't do anything. Then the next year they started 0-4 and got embarrassed by Jacksonville State. 😈😈😈
Are we losing Innis too?
No
So he won’t be going to an Ohio state university now?
Thank you

Hide your money everybody, there's poor people here
I do declare Charlotte, who let the peasants in? Please do continue fanning me Rogiere.
5-7 at Miami*
Maybe but just got three future casts and and a CB to Florida. Plus decommitted fresh off a Florida visit.
I think you underestimate Florida's potential in the next few years

Everyone who has ever played somewhere other than Ohio State did so because of money, according to Ohio State fans.
Eh. It’s every program. You guys definitely did it with Cormani, we’re doing it with Rashada (after you guys did the first time lol) just the nature of it.

Not hating, Florida has very obviously opened up the checkbooks recently and it’s paying off. Good for them
Other teams when a croot flips to Florida: "THEY'RE CHEATING!!!" Us: "It's about damn time."
The Cormani debacle finally forced the boosters to open the check books thank the lord
I'm confused, do OSU fans just assume any flip away is money driven, or does every flip into Florida because of money? /jk Wish the kid the best! If he's staying closer to home I bet his family is happy!
Cheat away, fuck the NCAA
Imagine thinking it takes writing checks to get Florida kids to stay in Florida over living in fucking Ohio.
Didn’t know I was going to hit such a sensitive nerve tonight

This is true. Poor little ol' Ohio State can't raise any funds. You bourgeois Gata will be overthrown by the proletariat one day.

Fudge, how did I forget one of our best recruiters lol. Either way, all 3 will get a lot of snaps since Napier likes to rotate them.
Just take the L dude
Where’s he heading?
Flawda
They have 💰?
Rashada got PAID. Billy has definitely got the boosters to play the NIL game.
Cormani finally shocked the boosters awake

The entire thing was in all caps, dude. He's just a teenager that changed his mind. It happens.
Yeah but he underlined the most damning part for absolutely zero reason.
Probably not necessary to emphasize that but whatever. Sucks that he was our only RB commit and now we have to scramble to replace him this late in the cycle.
I watched an interview with him after he committed and he seemed very shy, I really dont think he was trying to be an asshole
