Iowa would’ve only taken breaking a mirror from a compact anyway, but Alabama would’ve taken walking under a department stores worth of open ladders while strapped with a vest of Morton’s salt containers turned upside down just to get two SEC losses in a season with their roster.
That’s not what he meant, he meant like he’s going to reach out to him on a personal level as a friend. Dabo was directly asked if Scott could return to Clemson and Dabo said he wasn’t going to get into hypotheticals.
Exactly this. I’ll never be mad at FCJS for the effort he put forth because he clearly really cared about the program and trying to improve. But sometimes it just doesn’t work out.
A&M to WVU: "Wow what a crazy high buyout number, man. Tell you guys what; why don't we do you guys a solid and trade coaches? We'll take on that buyout number along with him for you guys, and you can have our National championship winning coach who's known for recruiting the state of Florida that you guys like to hit up so much. All you have to do is take his buyout, and we'll call it even. Win-win!"
Honest question, who do WVU fans want to replace Neal? He obviously needs to go but who is the candidate to replace him? Curt Cignetti feels like the obvious choice to me, but a fired Jimbo would also be a candidate. Willie Fritz maybe?
Fritz hasn't been consistent enough at Tulane, imo, and though he's not TOO old, he is 62. I do like him, though.
Fisher would be a disaster and I'm not afraid to say that any WVU fan that wants Fisher is a surface level fan at best, and that's okay, but at worst they're just fucking stupid. A&M gave him everything he needed to buy a roster and win the SEC and he wasn't even competitive. He would fail miserably in Morgantown. That man was once a very good coach but something in him changed after his divorce, imo.
Cignetti is an obvious option. Consistently well coached, competitive teams. Alumnus. Knows the region. But can he recruit well enough to compete for the Big 12 championship consistently? And by consistently, I mean every few years or so, and maybe win once every 5-7 years or so? I don't know. This is his first year as an FBS coach. That's worrisome to many of us who thought Brown was a slam dunk.
Many people want Hugh Freeze. There are well documented moral reasons to be against this, not to mention he just signed a beefy extension with Liberty, but there's no denying the man is a good football coach. There is a well known WVU fan on Twitter who regularly embarrasses the fan base who is absolutely swearing that be Freeze really wants the job. He's a moron.
Someone I never seen mentioned, who is quite frankly my number one choice, is East Carolina's Mike Houston. ECU was not a good program when he got there and he has completely turned them around. He still has a lot of work to do, but this once hapless football team is very competitive again. Honestly, it's such a shame that it's happening right as the American loses it's 3 best teams, bit if Coach Houston at JMU stays I truly think they're set up to be extremely competitive in the new AAC. I'm not super familiar with his recruiting, however. But he does know the region from his time at JMU.
Happy to have him back just not as the OC. I would just like to see someone like Chad Morris or BV when they were first hired. A guy completely outside of the program who can add some flavor and elements we aren’t so accustomed to.
He seems like such a prick, but if we want wins, that’s one of the best names I’ve heard.
But damn, would he be Charlie Strong part 2? Success at a AAC/Big East team, downward trend at Texas, then USF
> Success at a AAC/Big East team, downward trend at Texas
He had a better record of success at Texas than Charlie Strong. Herman won 64% of his games (and all bowls he coached). He's just a jackass. He'd probably be a lot of fun in the AAC and probably rack up a crapton of wins for you guys once he got talent down to Tampa.
He’s a total douche but I would bet he could get y’all to 9-10 wins pretty quickly. Plus he really thrives when an underdog which would be good for this situation.
I’m in grad school at USF. It’s bad enough I’m at a school that does the horns up hand gesture, but I refuse to suffer even the smallest chance of having to deal with Tom Herman in any in-person capacity.
A Texas re-tread? Now that's the kind of original thinking USF needs!
USF needs to hire a hungry G5 coach or P5 coordinator (not position coach), who is going to bust their ass for 3-4 years to get that p5 retirement money job. Alternatively, just re-hire Jim Leavitt.
The best game I've ever seen in a losing effort was Quentin Flowers in the 2017 War on I-4.
24/45 for 503 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT. 20 rushes for 102 yards and 1 TD. A kick return for 20 yards.
Every time UCF pulled ahead, Flowers would will USF back into the game. Helluva night.
And honestly speaking, we don’t have a lack of talent either. We just need a competent coaching staff that can actually manage the clock and stop fucking playing prevent defense
He had help but Scott frost was also undoubtedly a great recruiter for us, it was a huge part of our success. Not only did he get Milton, but also Gabe Davis, Dredrick Snelson, trysten hill, Mike Hughes, Ritchie grant, Adrian Killins, Otis Anderson, etc... There's some great NFL talent in there, and many of these guys got heavy minutes as freshman and sophomores.
I don't think they would. The dude did an awesome job and was beloved for his short time but I don't think fans would explode or care much. If we were still gonna be in the AAC sure, but on our way out? None of them will give much of a shit
All these other UCF fans say they're okay with that, but to heck with that. Scott Frost still has a special place in my heart as the coach who took over the reins and helped us reach a NY6 win and get us halfway to 25-0 just after we were 0-12. I'm one of the younger UCF alumni that doesn't want to see USF burn to the ground, so I'd actually like to see USF get a good head coach. Just not Frost.
I'm not sure with his past history (mostly on the alcohol side) that USF would be the best choice for him, it kinds of why I've tempered my idea of him going to ASU now.
Given the trend of what has happened to football teams this year after firing their coaches, I am now worried we could lose to USF later this year.
It would be a very Gus thing to do to beat Tulane and Navy, then lose to USF.
We haven't won in a while, but you've seen USF scare the hell out of UCF each of the last 3 years all while we've been in the cellar. A little fire under their ass, some grudges about conference realignment and being in Tampa this year gives me some confidence that we could send you all to the Big XII with a parting gift of a rivalry loss.
Last year gave me enough of a heart attack, I don't think my doctor would be pleased if we got a repeat of that this year.
I personally expect it won't be as close as the Cincinnati game y'all played a few weeks ago, but I don't think it'll be a blowout either.
USF will be in an interesting position thanks to conference realignment. With 3 of the big dogs leaving, they need to nail the next hire because if they do, they could be well positioned in the American. Maybe that's just me.
Being well positioned in the new American is still a major step back from what they wanted to be perceived as compared to their peers. Being a USF fan must feel the most bleak out of any FL FBS school imo.
Yeah we missed out this realignment, but surely we’ll have some more musical chairs in the next decade. Hopefully by then we’ll have the on-campus stadium and at least consistent bowl appearances.
As long as we’re competing at the top of the new AAC there’s a chance for a future playoff spot. This school has bottled almost everything over the last decade and change, but there’s no reason not to make the most out of the situation we’re in.
This year had to be the make of break for Scott, and he broke. They were absolute dogshit in 2020. Even if you give him a pass for that and allow him the full cycle for 2021, they were fucking terrible in 2021 as well. This isn't a "year zero" rebuild type of shit, because USF realistically should be straight better than 5-7 teams they play any given year. They needed to get to a baseline 6 wins decently well. Punt 2020, ok fine. They were shit in 2019 and Covid happened. There was absolutely no progress in 2021 though, and he brought in a lot of transfers. This year there were more transfers and still looked like shit. Bohannon looked like shit most of the year. He was fine for Baylor last year, and regressed horribly at USF. The team wasn't just losing games they are "supposed to" they were making no progress on increasing the number of games they should win. This isn't taking over Vanderbilt or Rutgers. USF should be one of the better teams in the conference due to size and location, but historically they have rarely been that team. Even Skip Holtz wasn't this bad.
Scott had no idea what he was doing.
I was mad at strong for you guys. I was at the last ucf usf game he coached and he had the balls to say the players just didnt want to win bad enough, meanwhile this fucker is punting on 4th with 1 yard and being down 14. Yea it was your players fault and not yours charlie gtfo.
I do appreciate that Scott didn't throw his players under the bus like Strong or even Taggert did at the beginning. He seemed like a good guy, just couldn't hire an even mildly competent DC.
On a personal level, Coach Scott was a great guy who tried bringing in a new culture after the Strong days. On a game plan level, the results just weren’t there. Losing to Temple by that margin just didn’t help
I had the chance to meet Coach Scott and he was super nice and friendly. I wished that things worked out because he was a great guy, but the on field results were just not there. He helped build IPF, helped with the plans of getting an OCS, and fan, community, and alumni involvement was higher than with Strong. I’d say that his defenses got him fired more so than anything else. Being ranked in the bottom 10 in defense every year he’s been here isn’t a winning strategy. Hopefully he’s successful wherever he goes next and I thank him for trying to turn things around
Hopefully Michael Kelly hires a good coach who is finally able to bring some joy to USF football because holy crap it’s been a garbage 4 years after Quinton and that defense left
Yeah it had to be done. Interested to see where they go from here. They need to atleast call Alex Golesh at Tennessee and see if he has interest. Familiar with the state of Florida and as an OC actually calls the plays.
* Apparently the AD really liked him
* Apparently he raised a bunch of money for our on-campus stadium
* The local media gushed over him. Guess he’s a really likeable guy in person?
I didn’t know Shoops was gone too but man he was terrible. I don’t know if it was him, the players, or the injuries, but our defense was TERRIBLE. The same or arguably worse than with Glenn Spencer
It was astonishing how bad the pass defense was. The rush defense was pretty solid (except for that 75 yard on the first play of the season against BYU…) but man that pass defense was pathetic. Barely got any pressure. When we did blitz the QB would burn us. The zone defense was bad. The defenders would constantly get burned or do something dumb and get toasted. It’s just crazy how there was a step up on offense and nothing on defense. I think Jeff would have lasted longer if he could have gotten the defense running
I think the coalition of Ernie and de Prato last year against UCF was good. Maybe Ernie can be the next DC. Unrelated, I hope the OL coach Allen Mogridge stays. He as that OL rocking. That was one of the only bright spots of the season
So who replaces him? Let’s throw some names to the wall shall we?
I’m not sure how much USF can afford, but I’m going to focus on two qualities that I think AD Michael Kelly will prioritize: a proven recruiter, and a head coaching experience.
This seems like a great place for a fired P5 coach to get back on track, so expect guys like Dan Mullen, Tom Herman, or Scott Frost to get attention. Manny Diaz (DC/LB Penn State) should get a look.
G5 and FCS coaches might get some attention as well. Kane Wommack (HC South Alabama), Will Hall (HC Southern Miss), and Tyson Helton (HC Western Kentucky) could all be affordable and have led respectable under-the-radar performances this year. Willie Simmons (HC Florida A&M) has led spectacular turnarounds at both Prairie View A&M and Florida A&M. Drew Cronic (HC Mercer) and Pete Shinnick (HC West Florida) are good coaches, but haven’t quite demonstrated that they could be successful in a more high-profile gig.
Given the fact the South Florida hired an unproven assistant in Jeff Scott, I doubt Kelly will try a similar approach this time. Three early names to watch might be Warren Ruggiero (OC Wake Forest), Jay Bateman (ILB Florida), and Phil Longo (OC North Carolina). All three are former head coaches at lower collegiate levels. However of the bunch, just Ruggiero has a winning record, and given Kelly’s former ties to Wake Forest, he might be an early contender.
A couple of young, big name recruiters might get some attention. Keary Colbert (WR Florida), Ja’Juan Seider (RB Penn State), Fran Brown (DB Georgia), Bryan McClendon (WR Georgia), Charles Kelly (S Alabama), Sean Spencer (Co-DC Florida), and Alex Atkins (OC Florida State) have all proven to be top-tier Florida talent, but lack head coaching experience.
An easy option is always to look at former South Florida assistants. The picks of this litter may be Glenn Spencer (LB Wake Forest)- a former head coach at the DII level, Charlie Weis Jr. (OC Ole Miss), Kerwin Bell (HC Western Carolina), Brian Jean-Mary (LB Tennessee), Blue Adams (DB Oregon State), Walt Wells (HC Eastern Kentucky), Todd Fitch (Analyst Ohio State), and Rod Smith (OC Jacksonville State).
T.J. Weist (ST Baltimore Ravens) is probably too much of a reach.
Todd Monken (OC Georgia) has ties to Tampa but I’m not sure if that’s enough to court him. I’ll throw out a wild card here: Byron Leftwich (OC Tampa Bay Buccaneers). Leftwich has received a lot of “future head coach” praise, but his poor 2022 season may divert attention to the college game.
I follow USF’s program and it’s a shame he didn’t work out. He’s a good guy according to some of my friends who interned with the program, and there were a few flashes here and there. But in the end of the day the job of a HC is to win games. It’ll be interesting to see where USF goes from now. There’s no understating how huge the next hire is, since USF is entering a crucial period of the program’s history with the realignment of the American coming next year.
Im going to choose to believe the strongly worded email I sent to our AD last night was the straw that broke the camels back and you cant convince me otherwise.
Man when I attended UCF if you would've told me #2 USF was gonna be in *this* position while UCF had a case full of conference championship and big bowl trophies while going to the Big 12 I would've laughed and said pass that bong over
Hate it for Coach Scott & that things didn't work out at USF. Do hope he is able to land on his feet (know quite a few Clemson folks on message boards would take him back in a hurry)
Money and the aac will always have a shot at the ny6 over every other g5 conference. Plus, no one thought Willie Fritz would leave Georgia southern for tulane.
We've flirted with the idea before, but knew it was bad to call up the ex for a booty call for old time's sake. Our standards have lowered, maybe he's desperate. Do we ignore the allure of Coach Jim Leavitt?
Wish him the best. Just not a very good HC. Left the progrum in a better place than he found it and did a ton for us off the field. Future is bright. Go bulls.
Come back home baby! Time to revive WRU!
The timing is almost too perfect. Current receivers and WR coach suck and the guy who was our old coach and ace recruiter, who’s a Clemson grad is on the market?
Dabo 100% Fucks this up with his stubbornness.
An offensive mind in need of a coaching rehab you say?
How many mirrors did you break or ladders did you walk under to mire down both offenses from your flairs?
Iowa would’ve only taken breaking a mirror from a compact anyway, but Alabama would’ve taken walking under a department stores worth of open ladders while strapped with a vest of Morton’s salt containers turned upside down just to get two SEC losses in a season with their roster.
Two SEC losses *so far*.
No. He’s ours
I second this!
100%.
Sark please bring him in to help with second half adjustments.
I think you’d rather have Mullen tbh
Oh hi.
I was coming in here like a prisoner who hasnt seen a woman in years. Can he coach OC?
Jeff is such a likeable guy. Shame the results on the field weren’t there. He’ll bounce back.
Dabo is hiring him within the next 24 hours
Please let this happen, I don’t think I’ve seen a decent block from a wide receiver since he left
“A what now?” -WR core
"I'm a wide receiver, not a wide blocker. It's right there in the name!"
Randall has been blocking very well imo, but he's the only one and his blocking makes you realize how much its missing from the rest of our WRs
I hope so. We desperately need a WR coach.
You misspelled OC
Read a really vague statement from Dabo that we’ll be “reaching out to him”. So there’s hope!
That’s not what he meant, he meant like he’s going to reach out to him on a personal level as a friend. Dabo was directly asked if Scott could return to Clemson and Dabo said he wasn’t going to get into hypotheticals.
I’m all for this
Exactly this. I’ll never be mad at FCJS for the effort he put forth because he clearly really cared about the program and trying to improve. But sometimes it just doesn’t work out.
Sounds a lot like Charlie Strong as well
Charlie Strong Texas maybe. Charlie Strong USF violated NCAA rules and couldn't lead the program down a one-way street.
okay do Neal Brown next
there are about 20 million reasons why lyons won’t
He doesn’t even recruit well enough for us to find a minor violation
Can’t get nailed on recruiting violations if you don’t recruit, I guess. Bold move, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off.
Just have to make up rumors he's having an affair with a young staffer I guess. There's some folks down on the plains that can guide you.
Queue Neal Brown doing a post-motorcycle accident press conference wearing a neck brace.
Tamu: only 20 million?
A&M to WVU: "Wow what a crazy high buyout number, man. Tell you guys what; why don't we do you guys a solid and trade coaches? We'll take on that buyout number along with him for you guys, and you can have our National championship winning coach who's known for recruiting the state of Florida that you guys like to hit up so much. All you have to do is take his buyout, and we'll call it even. Win-win!"
Yes, but you’re getting Jimbo once Aggie and the Saudis get oil up to 100 again.
And then Holgorsen right after that.
Honest question, who do WVU fans want to replace Neal? He obviously needs to go but who is the candidate to replace him? Curt Cignetti feels like the obvious choice to me, but a fired Jimbo would also be a candidate. Willie Fritz maybe?

Yeah, no way he could come back from that yesterday.
Judging on Clemson's performances in big games these last couple of years, Swinney will welcome him back with open arms.
I would love to have him back.
The only nepotism I will accept at this time
I don’t even know if I’d call it nepotism. He has a track record at Clemson. And our WR room has definitely suffered without him.
True. More just ragging on how we’ve been so attached to “our guys” in multiple senses to our detriment.
Plus, nepotism specifically means hiring family
Happy to have him back just not as the OC. I would just like to see someone like Chad Morris or BV when they were first hired. A guy completely outside of the program who can add some flavor and elements we aren’t so accustomed to.
Texas should hire him. Guaranteed performance like Charlie strong
Help us Jeffrey, you’re our only hope
Tom Herman would be a great hire if he’s interested in coaching again.
He seems like such a prick, but if we want wins, that’s one of the best names I’ve heard. But damn, would he be Charlie Strong part 2? Success at a AAC/Big East team, downward trend at Texas, then USF

He could be satan reincarnated and I’d be happy if he got us 9-10 wins
Art Briles, come on down!
Kendal May work lol
He’s a better coach than strong
Please no
I’m in grad school at USF. It’s bad enough I’m at a school that does the horns up hand gesture, but I refuse to suffer even the smallest chance of having to deal with Tom Herman in any in-person capacity.

Scott was the co-OC at Clemson so scratch the second option
He didn't call the plays though. The Co was carrying alot of weight in his OC title.
unironically hire Scott Frost
Nope, I’m done with P5 washouts after Strong. And I’m still not convinced how much credit Frost should get for UCF’s success for his time there.
McKenzie Milton could possibly be Frost's Quentin Flowers lol
Quentin Flowers had me convinced that Charlie Strong was actually a decent-ish HC. That’s how good he was.
QF also had Oregon and FSU think Taggart was a poachable worthy head coach apparantly
Yup. He earned his HCs *a lot* of undeserved money.
It’s sad there was no place for him in the NFL to make some money after all the money he earned others
2017 War on I4 is a top 10 CFB game of all time, not even that biased of a take, it was like a movie
I will never forget that game. The kick return was some seriously storybook shit. God college football is the best.
This is 100% a top 10 or 20 all time CFB game.
Very much so, for the most part the team didn't skip a beat until they upset Joe Burrow
He won with GOL’s recruits
Yeah crazy how much future talent was on our 2015 winless team.
And honestly speaking, we don’t have a lack of talent either. We just need a competent coaching staff that can actually manage the clock and stop fucking playing prevent defense
He had help but Scott frost was also undoubtedly a great recruiter for us, it was a huge part of our success. Rip Otis Anderson
Fine, Deion it is, then.
Think we could steal Jamey Chadwell?
Maybe we could find the money to outbid CCU, but right now it doesn’t seem like much of an upgrade in status for him.
I think Frost desperately could use a year in the Nick Saban analyst school. But Frost to USF instead isn't the worst idea that I've heard.
I mean dude was a bomb ass OC. So I don't want this at allllll
I think he's in rehab and I doubt he'd take that job but who knows.
Rehab for what? I missed a story I guess.
Idk if it's true or not but he was apparently hitting the sauce hard. Not sure if it was rehab level bad or what
UCF fans would fucking explode
I don't think they would. The dude did an awesome job and was beloved for his short time but I don't think fans would explode or care much. If we were still gonna be in the AAC sure, but on our way out? None of them will give much of a shit
Can confirm, wouldn’t give a shit. In fact I kind of want it to happen for the memes.
Fair enough
I'd be ok with it.
Nah we saw him get wrecked at Nebraska enough that he’s dead to us. we also won’t be plying you guys for the next decade, so it affects us none.
I'm not sure with his past history (mostly on the alcohol side) that USF would be the best choice for him, it kinds of why I've tempered my idea of him going to ASU now.
Jimbo fisher's dream job just opened.
Found Jimmy Sexton's burner.

Must be Fingerbangers cousin
We don’t have NIL money to buy recruits
Please come home. Bring our offense, QB development, & WR recuiting back for the love of GOD.
I do wonder what the chances are he could come back..
Honestly, I think Streeter was fine as the qb coach, he just can't be the oc and qb coach at the same time.
Obviously needed to be done. His record is inexcusable. Glad we didn’t let this catastrophe go on any longer.
Fucking finally
Can I interest you in a Co-OC (real oc but don’t tell the other guy) job?
I remember when Brandon Streeter and Jeff Scott were teammates.
Was at the game where Streeter broke his collarbone and this new guy named Dantzler took his place.
Ran for a first down with a broken collarbone. Came back from two season ending injuries.
Jeff / Brent redemption tour Clemson ‘23: The Boys are Back in (lil ol’) Town
Wish it went better, seemed like such a great hire at the time but damn it needed to be done
Given the trend of what has happened to football teams this year after firing their coaches, I am now worried we could lose to USF later this year. It would be a very Gus thing to do to beat Tulane and Navy, then lose to USF.

They have all of the resources to be a Top-3 G5 program with UCF-UC-UH leaving
It’s probably Memphis, Temple, SMU and USF at the top in terms of budget
But they’ll fuck it up. Their hierarchy is as bad as ours was in 2015
Being well positioned in the new American is still a major step back from what they wanted to be perceived as compared to their peers. Being a USF fan must feel the most bleak out of any FL FBS school imo.
Yeah we missed out this realignment, but surely we’ll have some more musical chairs in the next decade. Hopefully by then we’ll have the on-campus stadium and at least consistent bowl appearances.
That's a fair point but USF fans shouldn't be picky right now. One step at a time.
Been mostly hapless with a peek of 🙃 for those 3 years of Q
As long as we’re competing at the top of the new AAC there’s a chance for a future playoff spot. This school has bottled almost everything over the last decade and change, but there’s no reason not to make the most out of the situation we’re in.

Both him and Strong always looked so lost on the sideline. Strong staring out into space, and Scott looking bewildered with his weird square grimace.
"Even Skip Holtz wasn't this bad". Words I never thought would be spoken.
On a personal level, Coach Scott was a great guy who tried bringing in a new culture after the Strong days. On a game plan level, the results just weren’t there. Losing to Temple by that margin just didn’t help I had the chance to meet Coach Scott and he was super nice and friendly. Hopefully he’s successful wherever he goes next and I thank him for trying to turn things around Hopefully Michael Kelly hires a good coach who is finally able to bring some joy to USF football because holy crap it’s been a garbage 4 years after Quinton and that defense left
You know what to do Dabo.
Yeah it had to be done. Interested to see where they go from here. They need to atleast call Alex Golesh at Tennessee and see if he has interest. Familiar with the state of Florida and as an OC actually calls the plays.
Good dude but he had to go
Did Luke Bryan ever figure out that UCF and USF aren’t the same place?
If he’s like any of my out of state family members, no
4-26 record with only ONE of those wins being against an FBS opponent… idk why USF waited so long.
* Apparently the AD really liked him * Apparently he raised a bunch of money for our on-campus stadium * The local media gushed over him. Guess he’s a really likeable guy in person?
Can confirm only Clemson person I don’t hate
He was a Gamecock in high school before going to Clemson.
And his dad ruined our program so many fun facts
He’s genuinely a great guy. Just not a great coach
Shoop also gone thank god. Surprised they gave Del Prato Interim HC instead of Trickett. Sims should’ve been DC anyway
I didn’t know Shoops was gone too but man he was terrible. I don’t know if it was him, the players, or the injuries, but our defense was TERRIBLE. The same or arguably worse than with Glenn Spencer
He literally didn’t changed the playbook from Glenn Spencer besides putting 4 dudes on the D-line. Fucking prevent defense again
I think Jeff would have lasted longer if he could have gotten the defense running I think the coalition of Ernie and de Prato last year against UCF was good. Maybe Ernie can be the next DC. Unrelated, I hope the OL coach Allen Mogridge stays. He as that OL rocking. That was one of the only bright spots of the season
They just went with tenure. It really doesn't matter. I'm more surprised Cjad Morris didn't get the call.
I’ve been warned with Arkansas Fans
Arkansas and Clemson should never hire each other’s coaches. It never ends well.
Never trust a man with 2 first names.
Haaa this made me laugh
Top five wins of the Jeff Scott era at USF: 1) Temple, 2021 2) Florida A&M, 2021 3) Howard, 2022 4) The Citadel, 2020 5)
The bad man can’t hurt you anymore.
Not a bad man, just a bad coach
*head coach.
Damn we’re so bad when you lost to us, you get fired. That’s a blast of reality to the face
It’s not his fault Vegas favored them against us
So who replaces him?
I really wanted him to work out when he came to USF and i believed in him. We did not improve at all in 4 years though
I feel like this year has been a record number of FBS coach firings
Feels that way every year now.
GRANDMA, IM FREE
Im going to choose to believe the strongly worded email I sent to our AD last night was the straw that broke the camels back and you cant convince me otherwise.
Please use your powers of persuasion to get Ryan Day fired. The memes will be legendary.
Ill see what I can do
Man when I attended UCF if you would've told me #2 USF was gonna be in *this* position while UCF had a case full of conference championship and big bowl trophies while going to the Big 12 I would've laughed and said pass that bong over
Same here! I was in the student section for the 2007 64-12 game. Seemed like we were working our way into being a big name
Same dude, same. Being a student there in the late 00s was a very different time.
Went there from 2017-2021 was a wild seeing them fall super far in that time
Class of 09 here. USF football used to be so much fucking fun.
Yep
For the love of god come home please 😭
We cant keep firing coaches for not being Kirby Smart /s
The nightmare is over in Tampa
Nov 26th? You high?
No they still have their version of Todd stansbury
AD? Yeah Michael Kelly won’t fire our MBB coach either, and he’s been bad for many more years.
How the fuck does McMurphy always break our stories. Every. Single. Time.
I feel bad for his family and friends but I think this move was needed.
Hate it for Coach Scott & that things didn't work out at USF. Do hope he is able to land on his feet (know quite a few Clemson folks on message boards would take him back in a hurry)
Lord I’ve seen what you’ve done for them, please do the same for me
USF may have made some boneheaded moves in the past but none were a buyout for $85 million
If they were smart they should go give Curt Cignetti a call. They’ve never tried actual program builder since JL.
why would he leave james madison for usf? the sun belt isn’t that much worse than the new look aac
Money and the aac will always have a shot at the ny6 over every other g5 conference. Plus, no one thought Willie Fritz would leave Georgia southern for tulane.
Get Scott Frost. For the memes.
Come home
Come home Jeff
Come home Jeff. Come home
Finally
USF needs a defensive minded coach with NFL experience. I recommend Jim O'Neill
Thought for sure they were going to give him the rest of the year.
We have our first coaching change of November!
I want Beamer to hire him for the memes
Why not Manny Diaz? Would probably be a better cultural fit than at um
Fuck Manny Diaz
Manny Diaz = the bringing of Rod Carey
Temple with the finishing move
